Newborn baby brought Kenny back

edited July 2014 in The Walking Dead

I paid attention to that moment and seeing Kenny after the baby was born it was a really happy moment, and all the times Kenny offered himself to keep the baby, I think the baby will be the reason Kenny can continue to live, but something bothered me, when Rebbeca is turning, if you choose to call for help, Kenny just shots her without any hesitation in his face, he just puts the gun up and shots her without moving a single muscle on his face, that was really cold

  • The baby was in danger and like you said it brought him a bit of hope and at this point i don't think Kenny is gonna hesitate to save him.

  • No in my opinion newborn is the perfect new "duck" for Kenny. Luke was kind of right he was being a bit weird about it, its not his kid.

  • So are you guys suggesting that he was more than glad Rebecca's out of the picture now?

  • I hope the baby doesn't die cause then I don't think even Clementine can bring Kenny back :c

  • I think he actually wanted Rebecca to die, or at least he wanted to have the baby for himself (only time Luke was ever right, it was goddamn weird and creepy). He sees himself as the father, and was more than happy to remove Rebecca from the world.

  • When the baby dies - which it will. It will cause kenny to kill himself or go crazy.

Maybe the Pizza and Ice Cream choice would be - Save Kenny or The Baby? Kenny wants you to save the baby and if you save kenny he will resent you for it?

  • Totally agree, it's fine to be kind and want to be a part of a newborn babies life, however since the start of the season kenny has been trying to recreate his old family. (Marrying (or dating, can't remember) sarita, calling Clem duck, sarita even told clem if kenny seemed different, it's all been leading to him cracking.

  • I don't think Kenny is cold enough to want to take out Rebecca like that, but I do think he grew extremely attached to the baby, so basically he reacted extremely quick, noticing the baby was in danger. It's definitely going to be his next "Duck" like firewallcano said.

  • I don't think he WANTED Rebecca to die to have the baby for himself, I think the baby has given him a whole new reason to keep on going and he'll do anything to protect it. Kenny said something along the lines of "That baby is your life now, we need to find a place to raise him." and when getting held up by the Russians "I WON'T let anything happen to that baby!"

The thing is, if that baby does die, I think it'll finally be the last straw for him.

Anyway, I don't blame him for not flinching when shooting Rebecca, come on, he's been through hell. I think he just wasn't willing to let any sort of hesitation get in the way of protecting that baby. It was sort of a no-brainer to shoot her if she was about to nom the baby.

And no, I don't think he was being a "creep" as Luke suggested. Luke is hardly a good judge of people. He suspects Mike in that episode, was going to let Carver live, and was getting weirdly attached to Jane.

Rebecca herself said Clem was family when she was holding the baby, and Kenny being the one who helped her through labor and made sure the baby came out alright, I'm sure she appreciated him as well.

  • He was just dating her.
