Improve ****'s death UPDATED

edited July 2014 in The Walking Dead

I would add some dialogue for Nick in episode 4. Make Luke and Nick act, you know.. like they've known each other
for 20 years.

If you saved Sarah, and taught her how to use a gun

At the observation deck, the zombies are swarming in

Clementine runs over to Sarah, who's huddled in a corner Sarah! Come on we need your help!

Sarah How can I even help?

Clementine hands a gun over to Sarah Here, remember back at the cabin? Shoot the walkers..

Sarah I .. I... I can't

Clementine YES YOU CAN. Come on! Just like I taught you.

Sarah aims the gun but shakes uncontrollably

Clementine Now shoot the walkers

Sarah panics and fires a shot. The bullet hits Nick in the back of his right shoulder

Nick staggers and looks at the wound in shock Fuckk.. What.. what..

Before Nick could finish his sentence, the deck collapses due to extreme weight of the upcoming walkers. Nick falls face first and is knocked out unconscious

Luke notices Nick on the ground NICK NO!!! I'm coming to help you ..

Before Luke can jump down, three walkers smell Nick's body on the ground and start making their way. They viciously devour Nick's unconscious' body

Luke NICCKKKKK!! NOOOOOO! NOOO!!

Saving Sarah and not teaching her how to use a gun

The walkers slowly swarm the observation deck

Nick shit shit shit...

Kenny Everyone, keep the walkers off me and Rebecca.. NOW

Clementine runs over to Sarah, who's huddled in a corner Sarah! Come on we need your help!

Sarah I.. I .. can't I just can't

Clementine Yes You can! ..

OPTION

Show Sarah the gun

Clementine See this? I'm gonna teach you how to use it..

Sarah (visibly panicked) NO NO NO.. Dad told me not to touch those!

Dialogue Options

Be blunt with Sarah Clementine Well he's DEAD. THE WALKERS GOT HIM. COME ON

Sarah screams and cries uncontrollably NOOOO NOOOO STOOOPP!!

Clementine desperately tries to calm Sarah down

Clementine OK OK JUST STOP.. STOP..

Sarah seizes the screaming and stares down Clementine while breathing rapidly

Clementine Sorry I asked, ok?

Go easy on Sarah Clementine Your dad would want you to survive, Sarah. I know sometimes it's not pretty, but it's what you gotta do to survive. If it weren't for Lee, I wouldn't be here. He taught me how to defend myself. I can help you too.

Clementine gives Sarah a hand offering to help her up What do you say

Sarah ok..

Sarah gets up and they both go to help fight off the walkers

Clementine extend your arm, keep your elbows back and aim..

Sarah is visibly scared as she aims towards the walkers

Clementine Steady...

Sarah shoots and kills a walker

Clementine GREAT! Let's try this one..

Sarah aims

Clementine Steady...

Sarah shoots and kills another walker

Clementine GOOD!

After Sarah shoots the second walker, Luke loudly exclaims

Luke shit, this ain't gonna hold. Clem, help me find something to block them off

Clementine Ok! Sarah, you got it now, right?

Sarah yeah

What do you guys think? I'll edit more later. Any visible plot holes?

  • I probably need to be more specific when Nick falls in front of the three walkers.

  • Wait, Nick died in this episode?

He died in 202 on mine?

  • Now you know? 202's death is determinant.

I definitely prefer this because then our choice about teaching Sarah mattered, also it gives Nick some more screen time and an actual line. Not to mention that if you didn't teach Sarah,Nick would still be alive (unless he fell anyway) and he could possibly assist the group in the fight against the Russian group.

  • I'm still trying to process his death in episode 4. He was screaming for help .. tried to escape through a fence..

but was bitten? What.. That was so confusing..

  • I don't think he was screaming for help,I'm probably wrong though,I thought he was running to try and find the group to help and got bit,I don't know how he never got torn apart and never got out in time because surely the bite wouldn't kill him that quickly;so I suppose he must have died from the bites straight away and got stuck on the fence as a walker? Or he died stuck on the fence from walkers eating him,but they would have torn him open probably. To be honest I really don't know.

  • Nick was infected at the moment he was shot in the shoulder at the herd, then walker´s guts entered in his circulation, i think that´s the point of showing him being shot at the shoulder. When Luke and Nick entered the house where Sarah was, i think he voluntered himself to search for help, since he was feeling sick, realized he was infected and was the one who had the least to lose going out there putting himself in danger, but i guess he didn´t find anyone and eventually turned, and as a walker he got stuck on the fence. Looking at this way kind of explains why Luke wasn´t so shocked with the death of his long time friend, it was kind of expected, and would add more value to Nick´s poorly written death, since he deserved better being one of the most likeable characters of this season, at least IMO.

Luke: You can't leave me you asshole-

Nick: coughs i'm the asshole? You're the asshole- I'm still here!

Jane: Hey! A little help here-

**Nick Blocks the door as the Trailer gets overrun, Option to talk Sarah out of her panic as a choice instead of JUST slapping her- **

Clementine: Remember Sarah? Pinky Promise. I'm your friend and Your my friend! I won't leave you so don't leave me!

Sarah: Clementine! I want my dad- Where- covers her ears I need dad! This is too scary!

Clementine: He's not here, Sarah! He's not here!

    Sarah: But I'm scared!

Clementine: Good! THEN RUN! grabs her hand and they escape

on the deck when it falls
(a gun falls on the floor beside Sarah)
    Clementine: Sarah! Get the gun!

    Clementine: Jane! Help her!

Jane gets hit by the falling plank, If taught to use a gun, Sarah's shooting the walkers and gets pulled out, but fails to crawl up the sloped
    Balcony. She gets bit.

Clementine: runs up and hugs her

Sarah: I- I did it- Clementine?

    Luke: Sarah your leg-

    Jane: Damn't!

Sarah: Oh my god... It was so scary. I thought they were going to eat me, but they only bit me once- like remember when you were bit by that dog?

Clementine: still hugging... Yeah I remember/ Just shut up, Sarah please/ You're alive.

Sarah: Just a funny coincidence you know? Clementine?

    (Hears a baby crying)

Jane will berate herself from letting Clementine down. Sarah is completely unaware of what happens to those who are bit.

Sarah: Wow, you're baby is so cute, Rebecca!

Rebecca: Thanks sweetie. How-how are you?

Sarah: i'm okay. It hurts but its okay. I tried to fix it up like dad does but... it's okay, Clementine helped me. Did it hurt when you had the baby?

Rebecca: Oh... oh... dawns on her that Sarah is unaware what getting bit does Oh it's the worst. It hurt so much, but we both got through it. Do you want to hold him?

my best friend/ like a sister/ was just like someone I knew.

Luke: Can you two whisper any louder?

    Sarah: clementine, I'm cold...

    Clementine: yeah... I am too.

    Clementine: Yes/No.

Sarah: if no, she crawls on over anyway

Sarah: Were you telling the truth Clementine? Are we really friends? pinky promise

Clementine: Your welcome/ You saved yourself/ You can't be saved now...

Sarah: You taught me how to shoot them. You helped. So T-thank you.

Jane and Luke: watches, Jane holds her nail file to ensure that Clementine is safe

Sarah: next time maybe I'll save you? and you can teach me m-more. You know, if that's okay. coughs

    Clementine: Yeah. maybe.

Sarah: I can teach you what my dad taught me... slowly closes her eyes

Clementine: You're the new doctor now?

    Sarah: Clementine?

    Clementine: Yeah?

Sarah: We won't turn into those... things, right?

Outside the trailer park, Clementine and Jane just found the glasses and are talking about whether Sarah is dead or not. At the same time, they hear a familiar voice talking: "You're not going to have me, you lurkers!". Clem and Jane arrive at the hole and see Nick struggling with two walkers and one is getting near him, crawling on the floor. "Nick!" says Clem, "I could use a hand, Clem!". Jane and Clem run to his side and help him kill the two walkers. However, neither of them has seen the one on the rooftop and it falls on Nick and they both fall to the ground. The walker bites him on the leg before he is put down by Jane.

    Clem: Nick! No!

Nick: NO! Oh my god, no!!

Jane: Shut up, you're going to attract them all.

    Clem: Jane, he's been bitten!

Jane: I can see that, but that don't mean he can't keep quiet. If he keeps on screaming like that he's going to get us all killed and that's not what you want. We still have to save your friends. Where are they?

Nick: They're in that trailer, behind the barricade! Please, help me!

Clem: What do we do ? / We should check the area first. / We'll help you but you gotta be quiet. / ...

Jane: We should check the area first, see if there's any walkers.

    Clem: What about Nick, then?

Jane: If he can walk and help us, he should do that. Other way we'll have to leave him.

Nick: What? But, can't we stop it?! I mean by ... by ... you know...

Jane: Amputing your leg? You won't walk a minute before you die of blood loss. Plus you'd be a dead weight, we've got no time for this. Clem, trust me, I've seen it before.

Clem: I've seen it before too ... We can't amputate you, Nick. I'm sorry. But we have to save Sarah and Luke, can you walk and help us save them?

Nick: ... Yeah. We'll do that.

Then it's about the same up until they get in that trailer. Clementine attempts to talk to Sarah in order to get her to move, but time begins to run out as the trailer is surrounded by walkers. Luke notes that the only exit is now a skylight. Walkers begin to break the main door down, and Jane rushes to help block it, also asking for Nick's help in doing so. Walkers are getting through a window and Luke has to kill them.

As nobody else can do that, it's up to Clementine to look for something they could climb on top on to reach the skylight. It turns out that the furniture they used to block the door is the only item they can use to do so, and together they quickly move it over to where the skylight is, with Jane and Luke defeating the attacking walkers that can now easily walk through the door. Luke is hurt again because of his ribs and can't really fight properly. Nick comes to help him and takes his place in fighting the walkers.

After they do that, Jane helps Luke to exit the skylight while Nick tries to keep the door closed, and it is then up to Clementine to convince Sarah to leave or to let her stay.

**If you convince Sarah to leave**

Clementine will ultimately have to slap Sarah in order to get her to move through the skylight, Jane will help get Sarah on the rooftop, then Clementine. Jane will then look at Nick and thinks that he's already gone for her as he's bitten. Looking at Clem, who is looking through the skylight, she thinks twice and asks him.

    Jane: Nick? You coming?

She looks at his eyes and understands he doesn't want to be saved. She then climbs up, helped by Luke and Clem.

Luke: Nick, come on there, we'll get you up!

**If you decide to leave Sarah behind**

Clem will get at the rooftop, helped by Jane to climb, having a last look at Sarah.

Nick: Clementine?! What the hell are you doing ?!

Luke: Sarah, Sarah, you need to come!

    Nick: Jane, get Sarah!

Jane: Nick, I've seen it before. You can't help her. It was the same with my sister, I couldn't get her to move because she simply didn't want to. You can't force someone to live.

Nick: It's not gonna go like that.

    Jane: What?

Nick gets near Sarah and pulls her out of the ground as she screams,

Nick: Sarah, listen to me. You're gonna climb on this rooftop with Jane! You're gonna live, you hear me? Your dad wanted that and I'm making sure it's gonna happen.

He looks back at the furniture to get Jane's help ... but Jane is already out. He lifts her up and climb the furniture and lifts her to the skylight, where she is pulled out by Luke.

Luke: Good job, Nick! Come on, climb it!

*What happens next will happen regardless of your choice.*

Nick: ... I'm not coming, Luke...

Luke: What?! Come on, stop it I--

Nick: No. Someone has to clear the path, so you can escape. The whole trailer is surrounded by those lurkers, but if I can make noise to get them on one side of the trailer or even inside it, one side will be clear of any walkers and you will be safe to go.

Luke: No, stop it, please, Nick, come on!

Jane: You can't force him, Luke, let him do this it's our only way out!

Clem: Nick, what are you doing? / He's right, he's saving us. / Jane's right, it's our only way out! / ...

Luke: That's nonsense, you won't be coming back, Nick, listen to me!

Nick: That's the point, Luke. Tavia shot me back when we were running, all the walker guts I had on me... it's ... it's gotten inside me. Inside my blood. It's like a bite. I'm a goner, Luke, either way. Plus I've just been bitten. I'm not gonna come with you, it would be pointless, I'll die anyway, and I'll just be a dead weight. I don't want to be that anymore.

We see Sarah and her face, as what he just said impacts on her.

Nick: That's where the road ends for me... I'm sorry. And Clementine, do your best to keep Sarah safe, just like you did. / And Clementine, don't you EVER dare leave Sarah again, you hear me?

    Clem: I'll try. / I promise. / I'm not sure I can... / ...

Nick: I'm sure you can. I'm sure you will, Clementine. Do that for me, eh? Thank you.

He goes to turn on the radio, it's playing a bedtime music.

Jane: It's the only way we can escape it, let him do it!

    Luke: Nick! No ! NOOO!

The walkers on the path start to turn around and are going for the entrance of the trailer.

Jane: It's working! We need to go.

Nick: Go, Luke! You need to help the group! You're the leader! Sarah, you hear me? Don't let this world get you, you need to live! That's what your father wanted! And Clementine, I wish you good luck!"

    Luke: Nick!

Nick: Let me do that, Luke! I need to do it! There's no way for me to survive, it's time I fix my mistakes... Goodbye, Luke.

Jane: The path is clear, we don't know how long that battery in the radio will last, Luke, we need to go, now!

    Luke: Goodbye, Nick. Thank you.

    Nick: Goodnight.

As Luke closes the skylight, all of the walkers on the path are nearly all gone. The path is almost totally clear and the walkers are entering the trailer or getting at the windows, but the door finally breaks. Nick kills one, two, three walkers, before he's bitten and eaten to death.

    Jane: Nice job, Nick.

Luke: I won't forget you, mate...

All the others can now leave on the path and get back to Parker's Run.
