"You never forget that smell"

So after the baby is born and Kenny is holding it, he says something along the lines of "Mama needs her beauty sleep." Then he smells the baby and says "You never forget that smell."

I'm only 16 so I've never had a child and maybe my mind is playing a trick on me, but when Kenny did that and said those words, I couldn't help but sense some kind of weird innuendo. I'm sure many of you can figure out the rest. But what did it all mean exactly?

  • Babies have a really good smell that one man cannot simply forget.

He meant that he'll never forget the smell of a newborn baby. Rebecca's baby brought back memories of Duck's birth.

  • :)

  • New baby smell, babies are like cars you see.

  • It's new baby smell, dude. It's supposed to smell really nice. :)

  • That whole ''smelling the baby'' thing seemed really weird. Especially since the baby's not yours.

  • But it reminded Kenny about when Duck was born

  • Why does that matter? the world is absolute shit in TWD, seeing LIFE instead of DEATH after so long must lift everyone up. He also delivered the baby.

  • I know. I'm just not used to seeing people smell each other.

  • I never said it didn't.

I just said it was weird to smell a woman's baby. I guess it's common thing to do that?

Well you can tell he loves that thing, like it's his own and wants to be it's surrogate father.

Kenny likes to sniff babies.. What of it?! On a more serious note im just glad he has something to care of and he isn't losing his shit yet..

  • That makes sense i suppose. It's not like Rebecca has a word on it anymore...

  • You obviously haven't ever lived in Iowa.

    Ouch, that was a self-burn.

  • Lots of Baby-sniffing in there?

  • The smell he was smelling was new baby smell. It's a thing.

  • Just weirdos. Things get... strange out here, in the middle of nowhere.

    Lots of Baby-sniffing in there?

  • My sister and I were laughing through all the serious parts by accident because she said "Rebecca is just mad because Kenny is sniffing her baby." And than later on when she asks for the baby back I said "She was worried about Kenny sniffing him again." I'm laughing as I'm typing this I have no idea why I find it so funny! I do love this scene, though, and I am so glad that Kenny has something to hold onto now, but when my sister said that, it was extremely hilarious. I think it's just because we can't be serious. Haha!

  • In a world full of chaos and agony, you always try to hold on to the pleasant memories of the past. The smell brought him back to the days where he was happy. It's not weird at all.
