Why didn't Clem just

stabbed Rebecca at the end with her screwdriver? Actually, this episode had a lot of decisions that felt like the player's thoughts and all possibilities were not considered. This is just one example of a couple of times this episode where, not only did your choices not matter, but you weren't able to do what you were thinking.

    I thought shoot her so..

Only my group and Arvo are the only ones to understand me. So.. And it would take at least 2-3 seconds for Arvo to trasnlate REBECCA BE A ZOMBIE in russian

    So I shot her.

    • Russians would have probably shot clem if she moved
  • I don't think you really get it.

The choices are ''What the character is thinking right now''. So Clementine was thinking:

''OMG Rebecca is turining, what do i do? I need to kill her before it reaches the baby! I need to get help! But wait, i have a gun in my hand! Gotta be fast''.

You don't really have much time to think in that situation honestly. Besides, the game can't just guess what choice you want.

  • Seriously though, it seemed weird that the option wasn't given. The shootout could still happen with Kenny or Luke noticing her before Clem takes out her screwdriver.

I don't think you really get it. The choices are ''What the character is thinking right now''. So Clementine was thinking: ''OMG Rebec

  • Logical. It was faster.

  • I agree with all your points. I still think that shooting a gun in a Mexican standoff was unwise. I also wanted the option to stab her so I could avoid any conflict.

  • I dont think anybody would have noticed with people all pointing guns at each other except Clem

I think it could have been risky either way as Rebecca was closest to Buricko and any sudden movements towards him could have caused him to start shooting his gun.

  • Of course it was. I don't even now if my points are valid.

Clementine either was too desperate to do anything else, or it was just a failure of the game design.

  • I wouldn't say it was ''logical'' shooting a gun in the middle of a gunfight. It was a sudden move in a situation of urgency.

  • All the options are terrible to be honest. But I would take my chances with Buricko. A gunshot makes people think irrationally and fear for their life. Buricko doesn't seem like the type of guy to get scared of an 11 year old girl with a screwdriver. But who knows, shitty situations usually end up shitty.

  • Yeah, the scene should've been designed like Duck's execution, where you have to pointing of aiming, or probably reaching into your pocket for the screwdriver, or turn to any of the crew members to ask for help.

It would've taken a minute for Clem to be like "Hey Bec's a zombie." And Arvo tell his group that. Assuming that he could even hear her. Screwdrivers aren't exactly the first thing you think about when you see a zombie trying to eat a baby. For Clem at least.

Like how you couldn't save Sarah...
