Season 3 better have Clementine as the protagonist,
The reason why season 1 choices didn't matter as much was because we we're playing as Lee. Lee's choices didn't affect Clementine in anyway, but if Clem is the protagonist of season 3 then season 2 choices can matter more.

A lot of people are gonna disagree with me, so I'll brace myself for the onslaught of downvotes as I say this:
I don't think Clementine is that interesting of a character. I feel like Telltale hasn't done much with her, and at the same time, I feel like it's too late to do much with the character. I wouldn't mind starting fresh with a new group if they were to make a third season.
EDIT: Fixed a typo.
I'm like the only one that wants a new protagonist. Don't get me wrong Clem is awesome but I want a fresh experience and backstory
I hope for a new protagonist, but I also hope Clem will still be one of the main characters.
I also like the idea of a new group, but those choices that we did in season 2 won't matter if we have a new group.
To be honest, I'm torn.
I want Clementine to carry on as the protagonist in season 3 because there's so much more potential for an older version of her. Depending on the choices we picked in season 2, did we perhaps Clem turned into a colder, hardened teenager, or does she still hold an idealistic view of the world and remember all that Lee taught her? Would we stumble upon past characters like Glenn or Lilly again? Can you imagine their surprise at how much Clem has changed; would they even be able to recognize her at first?
...However, I also wouldn't mind a completely new character. It would be interesting to see how they have survived this far into the infection and what it cost them, what their relationships are, etc. Plus, I love the idea of running into a Clementine that we no longer control.
Well, Glenn is dead since Negan killed him in the comics. I think the 3rd season should be the end of the Clementine trilogy. Season 4 can start with a new character.
Maybe Jane will be Season 3's protagonist... and we will get Clem again as the protagonist in season 4.
WTF is this Sh!t?! You guys talking about no Clem?! NOCLEMNOBUY indeed!
^^^^^ THIS I love this
I like that idea. I just want TTG to end her story on a positive or neutral note.
How can anyone love ending Clem's story? How can anyone live without seeing that special little girl ever again?
kenny for prog
Exactly what I'm thinking/feeling... Thanks for that![:) :)](https://community.telltalegames.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
Kenny confirmed for Season 3!
NO CLEM NO BUY THATS THAT OKAY?! AND TELLTALE KNOW THIS... Telltale knows how much the fanbase loves Clem and they want sales yes? Well people will buy if it has Clem in it.. Because whats the point of season one and two saves if you have a completely new character?
considering most people know we are in the second season and this is a topic about the third to make that mistake right there makes your comment invalid.

NOT TO BE THAT GUY BUT I HOPE ATLEAST SHE GETS OLDER. I dont like playing with a kid. Playing with a strong guy like Lee was much more fun. I hope she can be a teenager atleast.
with 'all new people' season 1 and 2 and therefore our choices mean NOTHING.
clem has to be there maybe kenny too.

I want a new protagonist if I'm honest. I find Clem to be boring and I just cringe whenever I see her physically overpower walkers or perform feats only an adult would be able to do.
It would be nice if the people who are bound to dislike this comment would argue their point across but that's too much to ask of some people.
GOOD GOD, I AM NOT ALONE!
I want a new protagonist also. I like Clem but i just want a new experience and backstory
(I fully expect a barrage of downvotes)
I think Clem makes a better side-character than a playable one. Plus the possibilities are endless on what new character we can play and the experiences that they could go through.
A typo makes my comment invalid? Okay.
True, I hope Clementine stays as protagonist and it's a trilogy
The idea of starting all over again just makes me feel exhausted. Other players would be welcome to continue, but speaking personally, it's Clem who got me invested in Kirkman's universe in the first place. As soon as she leaves it, so will I.
well for starters..
clem has been stifled by the group she found..
she was treated like a kid at first, she was then treated as the go to girl because no one else could be bothered, clem has had to deal with cowards and idiots...
only so much can be done with that.. ttg have handled this as well as could be expected, if not surpassed it.. but it's your opinion.
as i said before a new group is a given,
but clem has to be in it other wise season 1 and 2 are pointless. why make such a big fuss of choices if they can once again be forgotten about.. oh wait they pretty much have..i can't remember season 2 actually using the choices from season 1 at all.
and season 2 choices have only really been about who dies.. and then is she cold to violence or hides from it.
(I posted this minutes ago somewhere else, but it is still highly relevant here)
I strongly disagree, Clementine IS Telltale's The Walking Dead. She's become a very iconic character to the franchise and for a good reason, it's been amazing seeing how a child evolves when the world around her is completely destroyed and loses everything. We always hear those gritty depressing stories with fictional characters talking about their past. But in this series when you say things that you had to go through in the past (with either Lee or Clem) it feels much more personal since you were right in the middle of it. If Clem returns I only see her being the player character. Playing as an original Macon group survivor to me just makes the most sense in my book since it feels like you've been on the journey with them from the beginning and it makes the story feel more personal. And in the end we'll feel like we'll have a completed story arc.
Plus, her being the player character was just a perfect transition. You trained her as Lee. It felt like you were getting her ready to be able to take on the world in the first season. And Season Two felt like the somewhat origin story and Clem's early steps into becoming a Grade-A badass.
Plus I said this before but, I'm very, very sure she'll survive Season Two. Especially since Season Three was just announced. Killing her off would be the equivalent of simply killing the entire franchise.
no bad mustache clem kills kenny mercy killing with a shotgun to the face at close range for closure
I guess we'll find out sometime next month, depending on episode 5's ending...
thank you that is what i told others to clem was lee's hope and it was in a way her storyline in season 1 clem and her teacher
Jeez, angry fan boys disliking me because I wanna new protagonist...
Really mature, I guess some people start to hate other people who don't have same opinion as their's.
We all love clementine, so no need to get pissed if some people-including me- don't want her to be the protagonist anymore.
If she is the protagonist in season 3, I would still buy it, though. There's some problems with Clem being the protagonist. She is only 11 but people ask her to do big choises, talk to her like she was an adult too ( like the rebecca scene in episode 4, she acted like Clem was her mother or something) and she is always so important to everyone for some reason. She has to do everything, other characters aske her to do their dirty job and if someone is in trouble (Kenny scene: Carlos asks Clem to help him hold Sarita, even when there's Luke, Nick (determiant), Mike and Jane) they ask her to help them.
So that's why I want a new adult protagonist for season 3. Please, don't hate me over my opinion![:( :(](https://community.telltalegames.com/resources/emoji/frowning.png)
I couldn't have said it better myself I agree. Listen I love Clem and her as protagonist was fun but i want a new experience and backstory.
honestly i agree with u
Exactly.
The story of season 2 doesn't feel so 'realistic' because of those things I just listed above.
Clementine is the face of the franchise and it's her story we've been following since day 1. Playing as her automatically gives more weight to the game and its world because of how much we've gone through with her, and as her, and there just wouldn't be the same impact starting over with some random person.
I do agree with some of the criticisms that more could have been done with Clem's development, doesn't seem like it's quite been given the time it should have this season, but I also agree her continuing on as protagonist is the perfect opportunity to truly have who we've made her to be count. I definitely wouldn't mind them aging her up to at least teenage years either, to make us less helpless, allow our word more weight, and even have her be a viable leader in her own right. All in all, Clem is too integral to the world of TWD and I can't let her go, and I assume most people probably feel the same.
False fan Alert!
