Too ahead but...who would be the new protagonist in the new season?

  • I really don't want to play a pubescent clementine with boobs or a different voice. I like her the way she is, very innocent yet forced to grow up and become a man early on

  • The baby with a 30 year old clementine

  • Mike is probably going to die in the shoot out at the end of the episode. =/

Clem. But I would play a Season 3 as Mike.

  • Nooooo! We must believe!

Mike is probably going to die in the shoot out at the end of the episode. =/

  • i think its to late for TT to set up for a new protagonist for season 3. i mean, TT took 5 episode to prepare clementine to be season 2 protagonist. so in that perspective, the possible candidates are luke and clementine. which also according to previous situation would be luke. The problem with luke is, he's a douche. most people hate him. there is no reason for people want to have 5 episode story with him in the center. so i think its safe to assume that he is not the correct choice. so by elimination process, the next protagonist is clementine (once you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth). to further support my argument, we (as lee) spend the whole season 1 watching clementine grow from innocent child into a survivor. And now we play as the survivor clementine. this time, we (as the survivor clementine) spend the whole season 2 watching clementine grow for a survivor into a bloody cold murderer. so following that pattern, we can expect that we will play as the cold blooded clementine.

  • I like to see a middle age Clementine running a community of survivors.

  • I don't necessarily have to play clementine (even though I'd like to), but I'd love to see her become a young adult.

  • I would like to see Clem's story continue, even with only a short timeskip,As others have said as far as Telltale can go is 2 years so no adult Clem.

  • I don't think season 2 Clem is becoming a bloody cold murderer. It depends on your choices but still that's a harsh thing to call her lol.

  • I'm beginning to wonder if there's even going to be a season 3. I mean, they've already announced two other games and neither is TWD S3.

Episodes are getting shorter and taking longer to come out. Decisions made in the game are becoming less and less meaningful. People are complaining and staff doesn't seem to care. It seems TT has lost critical talent and the games are suffering for it.

I hope there is a season 3, but I'm wondering if it's actually going to happen given the situation.

  • The episodes are getting shorter because there is less actual gameplay, while I think that the story progression in each episode is increasing. Decisions were never meaningful to begin with, they just allow you to experience the story the way you like it.
I think there will be a third season, and I'm convined it will be announced once Borderlands and Game of Thrones are finished. I'm sure it will take some time, but my guess is we can expect new episodes 2016.

  • This NO need for a new protagonist so long as Clem is alive but a grown up Clem would be cool and seeing as she's 11/12 now it's not really that unbelievable/far off. However it would mean the Apocalypse would have been going of for quite a while...

  • I'll admit a DLC episode playing as an antagonistic character would be interesting, but I'm not too sire about Nate,I would much rather have a new character.

If they make another DLC, I'd like to see him be a major part or a PC, but who knows?

  • It wouldn't be a baby anymore. It should be the toddler with 13 year old Clem.

  • I agree, Clementine's story should continue. I can already picture how they'll handle the third season if she and the baby survive (a symbolic resemblance to the first season where Lee protected Clem) but if it were to focus on someone else, I don't think it should even be a Season 3. Primarily since it's titled "Two" thanks to the fact we're still following a story arc that began with the first season.

So this is what I think, if it's a Season Three... keep Clem as the protagonist. And I'm pretty sure Telltale will since she's one of the most popular characters of the entire TWD franchise, TV show & comics included. I think if it's going to be a number "Three" it would need to focus on someone we've been around with since the beginning.

If they want to do a completely new character though I'd recommend they "Reset" the number back to just being called "The Walking Dead". Does this make sense? Just don't think a third season should focus on a brand new character.

  • They haven't announced a Sam & Max Season 4 yet and I'm not complaining.

  • I think that is a nice idea.

    Season One: Lee protecting Clem
    2 Year Timeskip
    Season Two: Clem growing Up
    Several Years Timeskip
Season Three (Finale): Clem protecting the Baby

  • Someone new, I hope. I'd much rather play as a clean slate of a character whom we can fill in, rather than an established character, like Clementine was. I'd much rather she'd have stayed as an npc.

  • The only one i would like to play as in Season 3 is Clem, only her, nobody else.

  • Don't tell me thing will not work out like Valve for not releasing "Threes". Shit, hope they will. I'd make a sign petition for S3 if that happens.

  • I think you have a point. We need someone to fill new choices for a new character. But I prefer keeping Clementine, for she was a DAMN BADASS GIRL.

  • Hope the developers see this. But let's just base them on what's really based on. Let's see the outcome.

  • no, it's one game with two protagonists, the story is the game, not the protagonist, and having a different protagonist wouldn't change all the events of the world, it would just change the reactions to them

i'm not saying i would want them to just be avatars, i would want it to be good, my point is that even though it would take more effort to make, it would pay off if done well, and make a new season special.

as i said a different protagonist wouldn't change the events of the world, for example if the protagonist of this season was christa, she could have still been swept down river after a fight, been bitten by the dog and met up with luke and the story would have been basically the same but the interactions would be different.

  • Become a man

    Figure of speech, I'm assuming.

And anyway, it's all about Clem growing up in a fucked-up-shit, canis canem edit world. And naturally, she WILL go into puberty. If you don't like that, fine. I'll be fine with it.

  • I would like to play as Kenny or Mike.

  • Anyone else think it would be cool if Telltale did a VOTING panel for a Protagonist for Season 3? They can make it before writing and developing the game and once voting has closed, they can start making it and then announce who won!

  • I just want maybe 12 or 13 year old Clem.

  • I'm pretty sure Clem would obviously win that.

But I do think they should do a survey. I remember they done one for Back to the Future 4 years ago. They would know what people want more of and what people want less of in the third season.

  • I wanted a fresh new character experience and backstory.

  • CLEMENTINE

  • Have it be another teenager (from Bens school) and they were looking for Ben after the camp got raided, and their teacher. However they were soon left alone, show them developing and becoming a survivor. Then meeting Clementine after the events of 'Season Two' and then befriending her. Depending on your choices depends on how you can befriend her, if she will be friends with you, if she likes/hates you and how easy or difficult it is to be friends wit her.

I want to see 'The Walking Dead' from a teenagers perspective, someone who is old enough to identify themselves in the previous world yet young enough to still grow up, and become accustomed to this new world.

Someone new, because fresh ideas need to flow for the franchise to keep itself interesting.

On the other hand, Clementine, for the simple reasons of irrational emotional attachment to her character (although maybe it's more the idea of her character or what her character was, or could have been/be, I don't know) and that I feel like she was in part wasted in Season Two.

  • We have someone new, but we also have Clementine but we're looking at her from a different perspective. We're looking at her, not as someone to care for. But as somebody that we care for, and cares for us. We treat her equally, not weaker or superior. She will be our friend (or partner at least) and we'll both be equal. So a fresh new character for development, with Clementine so her story development isn't wasted. As well as a new perspective from a different age. As well as difference ways of handling situations (not like a child or adult, now you're in the middle, meaning some choices may be more or less difficult).

You're also not "superior" in the group of the "leader". You're just a "member" yet you're forced into this position of making choices, when the time comes. You also have to adapt to the new world, quickly and people expect more of you simply based on your age. As well as old decisions coming into play when affecting returning characters, and Clementine as well as Ben's fate, and the fate of other characters you may or may not meet.
