Best caretaker for Clem in S2 so far?
Yes,nobody can take care of clem as good as Lee did (R.I.P a very awesome character),but in S2 we have some very interesting options.Let's check them out,and would love for you to give your opinion aswell.
First, We have Luke.He protects Clem and was on her side since the very beginning,he listens to the group and being very reasonable and real,he agreed with the group's decision about escaping the camp the same night,but also did not sugarcoat it and told them what the price might be,the trusts Clem and I would take him over Kenny any time,My only problem with him is within 4 episodes he dissappeared twice,and wasn't there to watch Clem.
Kenny is a person Clem knows for a very long time. Some of the people in this forum might remmeber how much I don't like him,but In episode 3 and the end of 2 I thought he was alright,he came inside the ski house when carver threatened clem's life and lost his eye to cover here,But I have many,many problems with him. He held some grudges towards Lee in season 1 which didnt matter to me because Lee wasnt a child,but on the simple decision what does not fit Kenny he starts with it again towards an 11 year old,the look he gives here when I saw with Luke,The screaming and shouting and blaiming her for Sarita's death (Which was in my opinion the wrost thing he ever done,incuding season 1 actions,after he blamed Clem I made sure to be really rude to him) and really bullying the group.I belive if he is calm and nothing happends to him or his beloved ones he can be FINE to watch clem,but again,this is a zombie apocalypse,nothing can be clam and people die,so I don't trust him around Clementine.
with Jane I actualy had a battle with luke for best caretaker,she taught her some tricks,trusted her and was her mentor,she is very,very smart but just as luke,she is real and never afraid to say what everybody else want to say,or do what people choose to avoid even tho it is the smart thing to do.She is like the season 2's Molly,and they both share the same thing : a dead sister,which put an emotional scar to them.Jane had a..hm.."Physical" relashionship with Luke,kinda remainded me Molly's deal with Crawford's doctor. After jane left I realised that after what happend to her sister she cannot take care of clementine,even tho she was super useful.
We know Bonnie from 400 days and most of us liked her,she seems to feel very bad about being with Carver's group (aka Tavia's camp) and seems to be blind from the truth at first,but as soon as shit hits the fan she regrets it and helps clem and doing everything she can do to make up for what she did,Can we really trust her? I think she can be a good caretaker for flem if it will be just the two of them. or a group of 3 with Mike which seems to like her, If she can fit in with a group like christa and omid's to take care of clem she will do well,but as a part of a big community like Carver's she can easely be fooled again.
I gotta give some credit to Christa I heared screaming and shooting at episode 1 but we didn't see her die,and if we learned somehting from Kenny,she might be alive.so I will count her in to. She took care of clem after Lee died,and survived 16 months without omid on her side.she lost her baby but kept Clem alive,she taught her to to do stiches,light fire and who knows how much more.She also knows clem the longest (other then Kenny) So clem does not need to be worried about her.
Due to the information above I made my list,Number 1 being the best caretaker,5 being the wrost.
1) Luke
2)Christa
3)Bonnie and Mike
4)Jane
5)Kenny

agree that she doesn't really need one any more half the time she is taking care of the group on her own but christa and especially jane who taught her a good set of survivalist skills have been the best for her this season , id have said kenny but hes just a tad awol this season

I have to disagree - but just a little. Kenny is wrost then he has been in S1 and while in the tent,depends on what you say he can respond "I cant even look at you right now,dont wanna hear all this shit" to an 11 year old.he is way to impulsive and selfish,he was alright when getting beat up for clem,other then that I dont see any reason why he was the best
She doesn't need one, but I think it would be nice for her to have one. So I would say the most qualified at this moment would have to be Mike. The second most qualified at the moment would be Bonnie. Either one of them I think would be a ideal caretaker for Clem if not both.
I wonder who would you put in insted of Pete? as he died and seems a little to harsh sometimes
I know he has said some things but I think he will have Clem's back when it hits the fan.
He proved to have at most points,But after Sarita's death he kinda turned on her,so I guess we will have to find out in episdoe 5,I sure hope he will get his hero moment there and save her so they will be cool with each other

2.Kenny(He has flaws but I understand why he snapped at Clem, If everyone else saw saritas death in his point of view they would do the same or something very similar so don't hold THAT against him)
3.TeamBike They seem good so far and they are capable but they have not been around for that long (and unfortunately they will probably die in the shootout
4. Jane or Luke- JANE:She is a lot like Molly, and she taught Clem she can take care of herself even further, but also kind of increases lack of trust towards others in a way, and importantly she teaches you can't save everyone... LUKE: He is a good guy, has morals, and seems good, but he seems to do things at the wrong time (like "scavenging" with Jane)

Actualy,In episode 5 of season 1 Kenny can chop off Lee's arm,so when Kenny did it its fine,but when Clem did it "She didn't have the right to do so"? Hell,How can you understand how he snapped at a little girl that - If they weren't surronded by walkers - did the only thing that actualy gave sarita a chance. SPOILERS FOR SEASON 3 FOR TV SHOW STARTS HERE *At TV show rick and Hershel are very close,and when hershel gets bit rick goes right on and chopping his leg and doesnt blame maggie or glen for drawing hershel's attatnion,and hershel lives *SPOILER FOR TV SHOW ENDS HERE so the truth here Kenny might lose his beloved onse for the second time,but there was nothing else he oculd have done other then what clem did
Yeah, but what I'm trying to say is how he saw it differently, and that most people given the same situation would do something very similar, and Kenny was able to snap out of it (kind of)
Honestly? I dont know how any of them have survived this long without clem with the exception of kenny, clem does everything, im expecting to have to spoon feed them in EP5 lol, clem has been their caretaker
Other then blaming clem he handeled the situation FINE, staying away from the rest and helping with the baby,if he wouldnt have snapped at clem I'd actualy give him some credit.
Yeah he handled it better than I thought, I was expecting WAY worse..
lol,its really funny how true your comment is,Clem is always the one to do everything and volenteering,and always the center of the plans,hell,she should get collars for each 1 of them for episode 5 and take them for a walk !

At this point, Clem doesn't need a caretaker. A good group of calm, collected, capable people, perhaps, but not a caretaker. I'd definitely go with Christa as my #1 choice. She took care of Clem the longest, while pregnant and with no outside assistance. During that whole time, we know of nothing catastrophic that happened. To me, that says Christa knows how to stay out of trouble and it simply ran out with the group in the woods. If she's still alive, I can think of no one better to team up with Clem to rule the wasteland of the dead.

Jane is better than Christa. In fact she might rival Lee.
Well, it's unknown for us if they ever did have any outside assistance..
If they got help, then Telltale has done an abysmal job of letting us know. Until they actually tell us what happened, I'm just going to assume that it wasn't important enough to show it to us, therefore it wasn't really much help.
That's just it.. They also sort of forgot that Clementine was with Christa when she probably had a miscarriage. Clementine should have had knowledge about pregnancy what to do when it comes time to give birth to it..
So we either have a plot hole on our hands, or vital information that we simply haven't been given? Why am I not surprised?

In Season 2 I would say Pete, perfect balance of calm authority vs letting Clem test her strength.
I don't think Jane can rival Lee,No one can,Jane left because of her emotional reaction to sarah and Clem
Obviously christa. She kept her alive single handedly for sixteen months. That's four times as long as lee managed.
Herself.
