What would your reaction be if they gave game of thrones longer episodes than walking dead lol

happy or upset

  • I would be slightly upset that they're giving this new franchise more time than the one that got them so popular, but all-in-all pretty happy because they finally got their act together.

  • I wasn't that in to TWD before the game, and I'm not that into GoT now. If they can make me fall in love with the game, I'd love it, but if they're just extended shitfests (which I doubt they will be) I wouldn't be happy with it.

  • Sadly it will probably happen, just like episode 1 of twau. they're going to make the first episode really good to attract fans and then the episodes following won't be as good. (twau was still an amazing series though)

i would be happy cause that means they listened to us which they should be doing now...

  • Wow really im getting dislikes just for asking people about new games potentially getting longer episodes lol

this is why i hate the new comment section

  • This is a stupid thread. Look, each episode of TWD2 tells about the same amount of story as an episode of TWDS1. The episodes may seem shorter but that's only because of the lack of hub areas and character interactions. The first season of The Walking Dead even incorporated a bit of problem solving (despite how easy they were) which added to the length. I think Telltale removed these elements because they wanted to make a more continuous flowing story. I would like to have them back though. I miss walking around an environment, interacting with characters, and examining objects.

  • Then TWD Season 3 comes out with 90 minute long episodes.

  • Truth be told, I'll be kinda upset. I'm not a big Game of Thrones fan as of now, so I'll definitely be upset they didn't give my beloved Walking Dead the attention it deserved.

  • ...So what's your point?

Then TWD Season 3 comes out with 90 minute long episodes.

  • I never said they weren't bad

a majority can agree Episode 1 of twau was better than Episode 2.

  • Depends on how big the world is. If we are looking through the eyes of different families then its probably necessary. I have not watched more than an episode so my knowledge of that world is limited.

  • I wouldn't be too mad, if they extended the episodes with more character development, that is, since it shows that Telltale is listening to the fans :p

To be fair, if future series do get longer Episodes, it is not due to favoritism of franchises but rather Telltale's iterative process at work. They try to take what works from one season and use/improve it on the next Season.

If Game of Thrones does have longer episodes, more gameplay, more hubs, or anything else, it will be because Telltale listened to fans - not because Telltale is playing favorites with licenses. Likewise, it means that Season 3 of Walking Dead will also likely incorporate those choices, as both Game of Thrones and Walking Dead Season 3 look much further down the line than Tales from the Borderlands and newer/recent episodes of Wolf and Dead.

I'm not a Telltale employee so take this with a grain of salt, but looking at how far along Tales from the Borderlands looks, I'd say that Tales will probably be on the same page as Wolf Among Us and Walking Dead Season 2 in terms of length and amount of interactivity, as it looks like Telltale has had different teams work on all three titles in close proximity. Intuitively speaking as a Telltale fan, I'd say that if we are to see any change regarding episode length or gameplay, it will either be towards the late middle/end of Tales from the Borderlands, or the start of Game of Thrones.

EDIT: Also worth considering is that Game of Thrones has a meatier backstory, so Telltale might just be inclined to make longer episodes anyways.

  • To be honest I'd be fine with it. As much as I like the walking dead I love game of thrones more
