WTF is the OP talking about, are you totaly insane?
Season 1 didnt mater because we were playing lee? Thats the biggest heap of steaming bullshit ive heard for a while, its totaly the other away round and to not put to finer point on it the main reason why S2 hasnt been able to live up to the high levels of storytelling that came with S1...
In S1 every decision we had to make we had to weigh up our decision in regards to clem then the group, some of the most powerful parts of S1 envolved lee or us deciding what to tell clem.... on the train is a good example, do we tell her we go looking for her parents or not, this was JUST dialogue, there was nothing going on at most of these points , simply heart to hearts with clem, do we leave her at the mansion with omid who may turn or do we take her on the dangerous supply mission?, I could go on all day her, but no matter what the situation we had clem to protect, we have none of that now, it maters not...
Because we are now playing clem its led us into silly land, shes a young girl, in EP1 S2 she was being told that she needed to learn how to build a fire to survive, next episode we are point on a bridge assault and raiding unsecured buildings while grown men sit around on their fat asses, you call that a believable a story? We go from a little a girl who needs protecting to keep her alive to a veteran navy seal in one Ep..... who is then a qualified electrician who the group feel should shut down a wind turbine...juuuust because we the player need to be involved... jesus I wish you guys would get a friggin hold of yourselves really..... if we were playing as anyone else these issues would not be, it would be believable, the bridge scene would add suspense because we would be thinking "I need to make it out of this and get back and pretect clem" NOT "why are grown men sending me a 12 yr old on a fecking assault mission across a bridge thats barely standing"...
Its all this stuff that takes your mind from being totally absorbed into the plot, its simply not believable, clem has pretty much been taken away from us also because while in S1 clem would react to your actions in any given situation, we now control that as we play her.. so the scene in ep 4 when luke asks you are you ok, you can choose weather to say .. im fine / no im not / go fuck yourself luke / I want to kill more zombies.... and its been the same all season, shes just not as powerfull as she was in S1 because of this, its led to some wacky storytelling and gameplay because we play clem and we need to be involved in the story, so we are forced into loony land were clem is the saviour of the group every 2 mins,, take ep3..... we or clem did everything...... and I mean everything, if it wasnt for a 12 yr old girl there would have been no escape, everyone is bashing kenny for the walkie talkie situation when in reality it was required to write it that way to involve us, its pathetic.
One minute we are playing some robocop who does everything because the player needs to be involved, next we are talking like some timid little girl in a floaty polkadot dress... she just whiped out a zombie herd TT... ffs
The scene in the mobile home with sarah, the options pop up to keep talking her around or make a dash for it, it was easy, keep talking her around, now if that was lee or somone else we were in control of we would be thinking clem clem clem, on the second time of asking I would have had to choose quickly between talking around sarah whos head had gone and clems safety, that would have been a high pressure situation, but it wasnt...
The speculation on kennys mental state after ep3 was easy for me to decide that I would stick with kenny unless the game forced me otherwise, now if I was playing lee or another character I would ultimately have to put clems safety first and if that meant making the arduous decision to leave kenny then thats how it needs to be...
All season ive been bashing buttons, it means nothing without having somthing to protect...
This thread is the biggest pile of crap ive read on here in a while, this game is not about action its about emotional decision making in difficult high pressure situations, and with nothing to protect it doesnt work we have nothing pulling our decisions, the characters have no substance to them so we dont have those high pressure situations, its just listen to the story and press buttons.
EP2 of S1 we start with mark, never seen the guy before, but we spend a lot of 121 time with him and character building with him, the finding food in the woods, the finding ben and co and the bear trap and discusing with him the new option of the farm and finally walking the parameter fence of the farm, and guess what when we find out about his demise. ?.......... WE FEEL....... where have we had that once with S2? Best we had was nick in the shed and they hang him on a fence.. ok not connected with us playing clem but im saying the decisions we are forced to make dont matter half as much...
Sarah dies... some of you say you felt.. ok fine but where was the fallout???, she gets chomped and thats it, we are more concerned with jane leaving lol, no dialogue from becca luke anyone.. its just hey sarah died..... same with nick... a 7 second scene with luke telling becca dont cut it for me im sorry.. if its got to the point where we are all so hardened to a group members death then we need to think about TWD carrying on past S2 because why play it?
Playing clem this season trashed the season before S2 ep1 was released, it may work in S3 if we have another protection element and waaaaay better character development but s2 was to soon..
Hey, I agree with your points about the problems but I'm just curious, what if it was much older/adult Clem? Not hating over an opinon, I'm just wondering
We all love clementine, so no need to get pissed if some people-including me- don't want her to be the protagonist anymore.
If she is the… more protagonist in season 3, I would still buy it, though. There's some problems with Clem being the protagonist. She is only 11 but people ask her to do big choises, talk to her like she was an adult too ( like the rebecca scene in episode 4, she acted like Clem was her mother or something) and she is always so important to everyone for some reason. She has to do everything, other characters aske her to do their dirty job and if someone is in trouble (Kenny scene: Carlos asks Clem to help him hold Sarita, even when there's Luke, Nick (determiant), Mike and Jane) they ask her to help them.
So that's why I want a new adult protagonist for season 3. Please, don't hate me over my opinion
Terrible idea. There's is already a lack of Character development in this Season. If there was 2 main characters everyone else would just be cannon fodder.
I've argued with over thousands of people ever since i first joined the internet, sometimes you just stop giving a damn about defending yourself even when someone says something utterly wrong about you. The moment he said i wasn't a "true" fan i knew i shouldn't bother, it's kinda funny because i'm probably a way bigger TWD fan than he is. nasmadoodle and thegoodthebadandthedead already did a good enough job anyways.
I don't know how i feel about that...
In one hand, i'd love to see a teenager/adult Clementine, but the timeskip would be enormous.
I'… mored probably would rather see a complete new story with a new protagonist, but it feels weird without Clem.
In my opinion, they should have Clem as the protagonist in Season 3 and finish her story (Hopefully without....You know.) Then change the protagonist in Season 4.
thing is if there was another protagonist Clementine would most likely have too die as it would be really weird playing as another character and still having Clementine around

Many wants to play as Clementine, while many wants a new protagonist. I was thinking why not both? You play as both of them, both of their actions will not only affect the NPCs but the two of them as well. The new guy can be the straight on offense type while Clem uses her evasiveness like she always does. Two unique ways of fighting. It could lead to new possibilities. I know it sounds impossible but it's a neat idea.
People are suggesting Clementine being in her teenage years for Season 3
But if Telltale decides to make another large jump in time then I will just give up with The Walking Dead.
Clementine is the most unrealistic character in this whole series. Clementine is 11 years old... I think realistically speaking Clementine would act a lot more like Sarah, Sarah didn't have a mental problem before Carlos died. She was just extremely sheltered.
I want to play a adult, not a 11 year old girl again. We done that.
OK WE GOT THIS GUYS.
NATE FOR SEASON 3 PROTAGONIST. Clementine is old news, Kenny called her out on this episode and what he said about her was true. She has gotten people killed, and she needs to take responsibility for that.
Why would age matter to you so much, do you not like little girls or something? And anyways most people want a teenager Clementine (13 or 14) I honestly cant tell if you're being serious or not. I love Nate but he would be a crappy protagonist.

Why? WHY are timeskips such an issue with some of you? Like who cares, it shouldn't matter that much. Id rather play as Clementine as a teenager then her being 11 for 2 seasons.

I'm never serious, but always serious.
It doesn't have to be Nate, i just name dropped him. As long as its someone new i would be happy. Mike, Bonnie, Arvo. perhaps?
I don't care for time skips, i think Clementine is age perfect as she is now. I think they really need to develop Clem's character, like they did for Kenny in the last episode. She is starting to feel robotic. This is why i think they need to go with another protagonist for season 3.
I hope we will continue to play as Clementine, but I don't agree with "Lee's choices didn't affect Clementine in anyway." From my point of view, it did, in everyway. But it's up to you (the player) to show it. I play Clem the same way I played Lee. Picking my dialogues and making my choices considering what Lee had thought her. But if the story has to take a break from Clementine (temporarily, to reunite us with her later) I think that would still be a better option than just killing her off and switch to another protagonist. That would just be unacceptable for me.
Team Clementine. I think everyone else has already argued over her remaining the protagonist enough lol. But yeah, if Clem isn't the protagonist I'd probably lose a lot of interest in the game... I can't help it, I'm just that type of fan that fades away when my favorite character is shoved into the background or, god forbid, dies. If Clem dies, I riot.

Wow, case well defended right there.
I hope there isn't a S4
1 thing. Why censor shit, are you 10.
Anyway, what makes Clem that awesome that you'd ignore a whole game because she isn't in it.

Clementine confirmed as S3 PROTAGONIST.
You grow up
if Clementine isn't the protagonist!!!
PFFFFFFFFFFT HAHAHAHAHAHA HAHAHAAHHAHAHAHA
put your dummy back in..
ok so a new protagonist the only way that can work is if the story starts at day 1 again because we want to know this new protagonist
No but seriously, i don't want to play as Clementine in Season 2. We already did the little girl thing, now its time to do something else.
Please Clementine!!

I like your taste in Clem faces.
It's a little weird though but I guess there is nothing wrong in two same avatars.

I think we need to start fresh, It'd really spicen the whole game up a bit and open a whole new experience.

I really want an older clementine. Middle teenage years would be awesome. It'll make her badassery a bit more believable xD
