A Better Way To Tell Luke About Nick

When finding Nick as a Walker, after we kill him, we should have been able to pick up his hat and take it with us and then when Luke asked if we saw Nick we should have been able to say "We did....I'm sorry" and then hand him Nicks hat. Just a little more poetic than "Yeah, sorry, hes dead"

  • Honestly, I expected Luke to say something else besides "Fuck, fuck". Nick was his childhood friend that he knew for 20 years and that's his reaction on Nick's death? Even Rebecca, who wasn't so close to him, bursted in tears. Telltale kinda fucked up Nick's death. It looked like they just wanted to deal with it fast.

  • That would've been a really nice touch. And maybe Luke could have just broke for that moment and hit the wall or thrown something, been in disbelief and denial, talked about how he's known that idiot practically his whole life and he knows how to get out scrapes, etc. and we would've had to snap him out of it and remind him of the situation at hand. I just cannot believe they had him throw a tantrum about Jane and let him barely react to Nick, come on, man.

I agree! It looked just that he doesn't care, it was like Nick never existed, just " Fuck" wow, that really shows a lot...

I probably wouldn't have given Luke the hat honestly, I wanted to wear it.

  • That would be adorable. =3

  • Yeah the timing wasn't to good. Especially with Sarah and all the walkers trying to get in.

  • i just wonder why they decided to make luke talk about how he regretted getting out of the trailer so quickly (maybe setting something up) and not about nicks death, i know he could have been dead in episode 2, but what would have been so hard about adding a few extra lines to acknowledge that nick (his best friend) had just died

  • Yeah, theyre just trying to get Kenny and Luke on the same level for pizza/icecream, but im still #TEAMLUKE

  • i know :( i wish we could have had a [Hug Nick] option or a [Hold Nicks Hand] option when going through the horde, oh well, at least we got to say goodbye, kinda

  • I wished that we could've talked to Nick like a minute before he turned, same with Sarita.

  • If you can't tell, Jane is afraid of commitment.

  • I know :/ oh well, kinda sucked how it was mandatory to kill him, could have quoted Lees determinant "leave me dialogue" where he says "i want you to remember me alive"

  • I got a good idea - what about if you gave him the watch and you got to talk to him before his death and depending on your relationship with Nick he will give you the watch?

  • People say lukes not to sad about nicks death but honestly i think its eating away at him. I see him as the type of person who would try not to cry when others are around honestly

  • It seems like if a character is given a determinant death, that they always end up dying later on.

The whole Kenny VS Luke thing, I end up siding with them both on different occasions, like I sided with Kenny that Luke should stop acting like a jackass when Jane left, but sided with Luke when he suggested we rest for a couple of days.

  • I hope in episode 5 Nick will be mentioned :'(

  • I'm pretty sure he will, but it'd be kind of shitty if he wasn't mentioned.

I hope in episode 5 Nick will be mentioned

  • Yeah I would have gotten Nick's hat and given it to Luke, and Luke could wear it in honor of Nick

  • With determinant deaths there is only one man who has avoided the fate of dying later on...

JUSTIN LIVE JUSTIN, FOR ALL YOUR DETERMINANT BRETHREN!

i always thought if he can do it, then someday, someone else can too... Maybe next time

  • Well yeah every determinant character has died but pretty much everyone from the first season died determinant or not, only Clem and Kenny lived, and originally Kenny was going to die but at the last minute they removed his death audio

  • Luke is probably in shock, maybe we will get some more feels when episode 5 hits,

  • I personally think that was the right reaction. That makes him look strong. The loss of a friend should not affect you when you are surrounded by walkers. See what happened with Sarah

Honestly, I expected Luke to say something else besides "Fuck, fuck". Nick was his childhood friend that he knew for 20 years and that's his

  • I know, right? Telltale really fucked up Nick's death and I'm angry that one of my favorite characters had to die in such a disappointing way.

    Maybe I'm naive, but I still have some hope left that we get a chance to talk about Nick's death with Luke. I mean, Nick Breckon writes the last episode and he's that guy who wrote the first two episodes that showed the deep friendship between Nick and Luke and he portrayed the different relationships between the cabin group in general very nicely. ;-;

I just want to talk with Luke about his feelings, because we never really got the chance to :/

  • Him hitting the wall after the whole Jane thing wasn't just because of her, it was from the combination of Nick, Sarah and Jane. It just happened that he had all he could take at that particular moment.

  • In the original concept art Luke has Nick's hat on, and they gave Nick the hat later on. It would've been a nice callback if Luke just kept the hat out of respect and simply wore it from then on to remember his friend.

  • Umm the hat is kinda dirty now with all nick's blood splattered on it. Besides, how will be able to do that if Nick dies in episode 2 to some people?

Clem: "Oh hey Luke. Listen... Nick is dead."
    Luke: "What? Fuck. Fuck!"
Clem: "But it's okay, I stole his cool hat for you!"
    Luke "...uhh...thanks..??"
Clem: "Hey if you don't want it, I'll keep it." puts Nick's hat on top of her hat

  • Exactly. And with all that was going on at the time, he probably thought this wasn't a time to talk about nick and his feelings when Rebecca is about to give birth, and Sarah who may have just died.
