Let's 'Fix' Season 2!
WARNING! There will be spoilers for multiple episodes of Season 2 here!
I think a lot of people here have been slightly disappointed with Season 2, saying that it's constantly changing themes and characters are getting pointlessly killed off with no emotional impact. So, I decided to come up with this thread so that we can all write how we would have wanted scenes to go. Whether you want to write a linear scene or create branching dialogue paths, either of those will be great!
Just a quick note though, all 're-writes' must be either replacements for/edits of scenes in TWD Season 2. No creating entirely different storylines or introducing your own characters. Well then, I'll start us off with how I think the beginning of the trailer park scene should have gone down. In this scene, Nick stays alive and helps to rescue Luke and Sarah.
Clem and Jane are approaching the entrance to the trailer park. Jane takes out the walker that collapses on Sarah's glasses.
Jane: Clem, I hate to say it, but I doubt Sarah's alive.
Clem: We're not just giving up Jane! Sarah's nearby, she's got to be. There are a bunch of trailers here, she's got to be in one of those.
Jane sighs.
Jane: Fine, we'll check, but don't take it out on me if she didn't make it.
Clem and Jane stand up and approach the hole in the fence. Nick is crouched there, peering through the fence into the trailer park.
Clem: Nick!
Nick: Clem, thank God you're here.
(Choice on whether you hug Nick or just say that you're glad he made it)
HUG NICK
Nick: Uh, it's nice to see you too. You can... let go now.
Clem: Okay.
I'm glad you made it, Nick.
Clem: Thank God you made it out of there. I'm glad you're alive, Nick.
Nick: Same here, Clem. Did anyone... not make it?
Clem: Sarita... well...
Nick: Damn it...
Clem: Everyone else is fine though.
Jane: Uh, can we just get moving? There'll be time for chatting later.
Nick: Yeah. We should go get Luke and Sarah. They're in here, come on.
So, that's my first contribution. Please, share your ideas!
Comments
When Sarah fell after they destroyed the deck:
Clem: Jane, help her!
Jane: We can't do anything about it, pull me up!
Clem: We have to try!
Jane falls to try to help Sarah but she can't do anything about it
Nick: Fuck it, I'm going too.
Nick joins Jane
Nick: Take care of the lurkers! I'll get Sarah out of here!
Nick manages to take off the part of the deck blocking Sarah, while Jane is buying them more time with the walkers
Nick: Sarah! Get on my shoulders! Luke, grab her!
Luke grabs Sarah, she is out of danger now
Luke: Your turn, Nick, grab my hand!
Nick: No man, it's the end of the road for me... Jane, come here! I'll boost you!
Jane climbs with Nick's helps, but Nick is bitten by a lurker on the shoulder
Luke: Jane is safe now! Get the fuck up here!
Nick: I'm bit, Luke, I'm already a walking dead.
Luke: I don't give a shit if you're bit! Hurry, grab my hand!
The lurkers are getting dangerously close to Nick
Clem: Option 1: Thank you for helping Sarah and Jane, goobye Nick. Option 2: Nick, climb! Say goodbye to all of us at least!
Option 1 Nick: I always wanted to be like you, Luke, a kind of hero I guess. I was a burden for the group. I killed Mathew, almost shot Clem, and uncle Pete would be alive, if I wasn't so childlish. So I am glad that for once, I saved someone. He faces the lurkers Come here you fuck faces! I'm waiting for you!
Nick gets devoured after he punches some walkers with his fists
Option 2: Nick accepts to let Luke pull him
Luke: What the fuck were you thinking about...
Rebecca gives birth and the group decides what to do with Nick after that
Kenny: So...
Ankward silence
Nick: Give me a gun.
Kenny: Are you sure? Someone can do it for you if you want to.
Nick: No, it's ok, I'll do it myself.
Kenny gives him his gun
Nick: It's weird, I'm not even afraid. I'm... happy... Happy that for once I saved someone. Happy that I kinda redeemed myself for all the people who died because of me.
He puts the gun on his head
Nick: Goodbye.
Luke: Pete would be proud of you.
Nick: That's all I wish for.
And he pulls the trigger
If you didn't save Nick in EP2, everything will happens like it did in EP4.
That's it for me, hope you enjoyed it
Luke: Is everything OK?
Clementine: No. Everything is not OK.
Luke: Listen, I know things look bad now, but they will get better...
Clementine: I promised Carlos to look after Sarah, Pete to look after Nick and Alvin to look after Rebecca.
Luke: There was nothing you could do...
Clementine: I promised you I'd look out for Nick.... but I...
Luke: It wasn't your fault, there was nothing you could've done.
Clementine: I promised Sarah that we'd be best friends... I even taught her how to use a gun...
Luke: Oh?
Clementine: People I care about.... leave me..... die because of me.... hate me....
Luke: Clem... I...
Clementine: I make promises that I can't keep...
Luke: Clem... you've helped us through allot.... It's not your fault...
Clementine: I just wish everyone would stop relying on me all the time... and then blaming me....
Luke: :c.... I was thinking that tomorrow me and Jane should go out and look for some food....
Clementine: Jane left...
Nice one! It's sad, but it'd be a much better death for Nick. At least he went out in a meaningful way in your version. Good work.
Clementine: sarah stay over there with rebecca
Sarah: Okay
the end
Damn, that's sad. And it's a much better Luke/Clem conversation.
Luke: "Clem, come out here! We need you!"
Clementine: "Sarah, you can help, remember what I taught you!"
Sarah: "But... I...."
Clementine: "Sarah... we need you! Please!"
Sarah: "I'll try..."
Sarah allowing you to hug her to convince her to leave if you were her friend, rather than making you slap her regardless.
You know whats sad, this story, you know what else is sad, that a random forum user can write a better story than telltale writer
Clementine: Sarah, please, we have to move!
Sarah:...
Jane: Come on, Clementine! We have to left here!
[leave Sarah behind] Clementine goes with Jane and Luke. Jane says to Clementine to don't look back and we only hear her screaming. We don't know anything more about Sarah
[Slap the hell out of Sarah] Sarah will follow us and stay alive, but instead of doing nothing she will talk with us about how his father raised her and her vision of the actual world and she would thank Clem for being her best friend. The she will go with Jane and Clementine. Then we would find Arvo and we will hide, but Sarah makes some noise and Arvo will shot her in the shoulder, making her fall from the platform, and after getting the medicines from Arvo we will look for Sarah but she wouldn't be there.
--Then happens all about Rebecca giving a birth--
We will find Arvo coming towards us with (Determinant) Sarah (if we leave her behind and doesn't teach her how to shoot) and his group.
Sarah will be without her glasses and very ashamed, then she will barely look at us and say "H-hi... Clementine" and look down while the two groups are arguing, but then Buricko will point at Sarah and he will say in Russian: "We don't need you anymore" and shot her in the face causing her the death. Then Rebecca dies...
(if we leave her behind but taught her how to shoot) The same as before but when Buricko points at her she will hide behind Arvo and Buricko will shot Arvo instead, Sarah will took Arvo's gun and point Buricko Then Rebecca dies...
(if we saved her but didn't taught her how to shot) While the two groups are arguing, some Russian will bring Sarah from behind a tree and point at her, while speaking Russian. The groups continue arguing. Then Rebecca dies...
(if we saved her but taught her how to shoot) This time Arvo will just say that they've found a little girl with red glasses who told them where Clementine's group was, then he will add that "she grabbed a gun and killed one of us, so we killed her too". The Russian who was pointing at Sarah will be missing. Then Rebecca dies...
That would be just nice
PD: Sorry for my bad English
Sorry if this is kind of long, also I actually dont really have a problem with the original Sarah story but here is an alternative
(Leave Sarah) - Same conclusion
(Save Sarah) - Same until the point the deck collapses
The deck collapses Sarah falls, the others help Jane up. Sarah freezes unable the move away and shaking she is stood up staring at approaching walkers (she isnt pinned)
(Sarah run!) (go to 1)
(Someone help her) (go to 1)
{Throw gun to Sarah} (go to 3)
(....) (go to 2)
One. Jane: "There's nothing we can do shes down there, look she dosnt want to be saved clem, we've tried before. Your putting her through hell doing this."
Screen flashes to Sarah babbling to herself about Carlos and crying
"... sorry but sometimes its just better to let them go"
(Throw gun to Sarah) go to 3
(Leave Sarah) go to 2
Two. The walkers approach grab Sarah and eat her while she screams, the group looks away in horror.
Luke "It... Its okay its over"
Jane puts her hand on clems shoulder "im sorry"
(Me too)
(I just wish it could be different)
(We should have tried)
(...)
{Continue as normal as story currently does}
Three. Clem throws her gun as hard as possible to Sarah
"Here Sarah use this"
The gun flies through the air however it hits Sarah hard in the face, the blow startles Sarah and blood runs from her nose. She looks around scared,
Bonnie: "Sarah move now, you have to move"
Sarah turns leaving the gun behind and scrambles up the wood to safety she then sits down against the wall clutching her knees to her chest shaking. The group then collapses the deck and then proceeds to the scene with Rebecca
{Later after baby birth)
Clem leaves shack after agreeing when to travel to find Sarah sitting on the edge of the deck with her feet over the edge staring down at the lost gun
(You okay?)
(Stay away from the edge)
(You did good back there)
(...)
Sarah says nothing and clem sits next to her staring across at the rising sun.
**"I'll always be here to protect you" **Go to 1
**"We cant be kids anymore {Give her a gun}) **Go to 2
One. "Sarah were friends I know its going to be hard but we'll get through it together", clem hugs her and Sarah cries quietly
Sarah tags along with the others until the russians attack at which point she alerts clem to Rebecca
"C..,C...,Clem,,,Clementine!"
{Shoot Rebecca}
{Call for help}
Two. "Sarah here I know you probably dont remember what I showed you, but you have to take this, I'l teach you as we go, we cant be kids anymore you have to focus or {Clem grabs her and forces her to look at her} YOU. WILL. DIE, understand {Sarah nods}. Clem hands her the gun and heads back towards the shack. "I know its hard Sarah but we'll get through this together"
As the group are held hostage and the groups point guns at each other Sarah pulls on clems arm
"C.c.c Clementine"
{Rebecca starts growling}
Sarah raises her gun
(Shoot her Sarah)
(SARAH DONT)
Either way Sarah panic fires and kills Rebecca starting the shootout
So there I guess that works, I know its a bit jumpy and all over the place but I didnt want Sarah to suddenly be shooting things like a pro or doing great at surviving also i didnt want to change things to much
Takes place during Ep.3.
Clem enters the comic book store looking for Luke. She still has her hands pocketed, the walkie-talkie antenna still sticking out, hidden behind the sleeve of her jacket. A feint sobbing can be heard behind some of the shelves. Was a man crying? She approaches the sound, and discovers Troy in the corner. The two exchange looks.
Clem: "Troy?... What are you doing in here?"
Troy: < Repeats Clem's response to the same question from earlier.>
Clem: [I heard crying.] [You read comics?] [You're taking a break?] [...]
Troy: < Responds with a quick, mumbling lie that's easily made up on the spot.> "...Yeah. Figure you'd not believe that, huh?"
Clem shakes her head in disbelief and steps back a bit. Troy notices her hesitation of consoling him.
Troy: "Don't get yourself tensed in a knot, kid. I ain't gonna beat on ya. ... " < Takes a breath and pauses for a moment.> "You know what I used to be before all this? Before the whole world went fucked over heels? I was in charge of a daycare. I made sure none of the children ran too far off, or played too aggressively with the other kids. I was a security guard before that. I know my way around a dangerous situation, y'know? I can break a fight."
Clem: [You looked out for children?] [So were you an asshole then, too?] [Any family?] [...]
Troy: < Makes a comment on his past, how he used to be before the walkers came. He moves it on to when the walkers came.> "I was.... I was a good man. I lived a good life... in a good world; but now? Now everything is gone loony tunes and I don't know how to feel about that. When it first happened, I was running an afternoon shift at the daycare. And... someone came in with a bite on the wrist, one of the nurses went to check on him. We called him an ambulance, but it never showed. We kept him in the nurse's office until then. One of the kids must have.... she slipped passed me and... I never heard something so painful come from someone to young before. Everyone in the daycare went pale and I came runnin' over. I saw.... I saw her.... I saw what was happening and.... I killed it. In front of all those children, I killed what I thought was a human being and I saw.... I saw her on the floor. I saw how much blood was coming from her neck... her face.... I..."
Clem looked paralyzed from the story he just told, trembling no longer in a fear, but in surprised shock.
Troy: "Ever since then, I felt each piece of my life turn sour. I couldn't get home in time to save my wife. I got stuck in traffic gettin' to the school for my sons. Days after that, I was considering sparing myself the horror of anymore loss. Got picked up by a party soon after that, cops and doctors sticking together. Smart people. Carver was once a small town sheriff, that's why he's so comfortable barkin' orders at everyone. He is a natural leader, and the man's got more schoolin' in him and I've ever had so, why go against him? I liked the guy, and he had himself good ideas. The man has this nose for detail. I never saw any doubt in his eyes, but he was a good man back then. He'd never kill anyone as an example, but after what happened to Reggie, what Bonnie was hollerin' about... Maybe I'm seein' him all wrong, but what can I do? I've.... I've done things. Things I hate, things that hurt. Now... I'm afraid to go soft in front of him. I can feel his eyes watching me day and night and I can't escape what I've become until...."
Troy looks over to Clem, cutting himself off until he could finish the sentence. He stands up and takes in a breath.
Troy: "Look, let's just... get you back to your people. I don't want you to be seen alone, and I don't want to be seen alone. Y'got it? C'mon. I'll take you back."
That's a really well written story. I'm gonna pretend that's how it went.
This season
haha, neh it's kewl.
This should have happened, and then we could have told Jane not to shoot him.
I'm not going to put this in a story format, as I haven't thought that far. But I had this idea that you find Nick alive, and he is with Jane and Clem during the truck scene. Then, when everyone splits up he would go with Luke on patrol, but he would continue patrolling when Luke goes with Jane. During certain parts of this episode we could talk to him, like after you come back from the observatory/museum. When the balcony falls, instead of Sarah he would fall off, breaking his legs. Even if you try to save him he will die. Everyone looks sad, and Luke gets kind of depressed, then the episode continues on normally, but with Sarah still being alive if she was saved. This would make it so that Nick would have dialogue and an impact on the story, and it would make it so that the balcony scene makes sense. It would also finally make Luke become sad when his lifelong friend dies.
I would have absolutely adored something along the lines of this. Such an impact on the story from a choice 2 episodes earlier AND it fixes both the issues with Sarah and Nick's deaths in episode 4.
That's so much better. A worthy determinant death.
