Why does **** still say you took his meds even if you chose not to?
The part of Ep.4 that left me the most demanding for an answer was why Arvo accuses Clementine and the group of stealing the meds while he was able to leave safely with his meds if you chose to do so. I also thought him telling Clementine she is kind really contradicts himself, because first he accuses her of theft, and next compliments her on her morality? Thoughts?

He needs some excuse to rob your ass doesn't he?
I........ don't know.
I saw a confrontation like that happening, so I did the right thing and handed back his stuff so he wouldn't accuse me of it. It's just annoying for him to still accuse you of it even after you made sure you didn't.
Theres the possibility Jane took his supplies afterwards, OR he's talking about the gun.
Now is that lazy writing or a story/character point?
Hm.. This is just a guess but i think that he stole it from his group (cause when you meet him the first time, he tries to hide the meds) and he needs to blame someone else for it. But still, it is just one of my stupid theories![:D :D](https://community.telltalegames.com/resources/emoji/lol.png)
Its like the stranger in season one even if you dont choose to rob him your blamed for it anyway.
Not really, if you pay attention, when you choose not to rob the station wagon, the stranger says he was after Kenny at first. But after he heard about the things Lee did (Killing, making bad decisions etc...) he goes after Lee to take Clem away from him.
I doubt he's the leader of his group so I assume that they noticed his gun was missing and he probably told his group about the encounter with Jane and Clementine and how Jane robbed his gun. (I wouldn't blame Jane for ending up taking his gun because if they gave it back he could of shot them so it makes sense Jane took it but Arvo would still have to explain to his people what happened to it. Guns are pretty important in the apocalypse obviously.)
He also seems to feel very guilty when he meets Clementine's group the second time we see him, especially right before his group comes out of the woods. He probably didn't want to but they made him do it to make up for losing the gun and possibly the medicine.
Clementine mentioned that 'Jane took his other stuff' but I don't know what that means like did she come across him later on and try to rob him again or did she take the stuff he put in the trash I just don't know.
If you don't take them, there's an option to say "Jane took them, not me!" or something like that. So I think that no matter what his supplies are taken.
Oh sorry I forgot.
I can see that in this case there are possible explanations for why Arvo still says you robbed him when you didn’t but there seem to be quite a number of instances where choices you make do not seem to make any difference. A similar discussion is being had under the thread So i just re played a chapter in Ep 4...I understand that accommodating all these choices could become difficult but it takes something away from the game. It is hard to believe, given the high quality of animation and writing, that Telltale is unaware of this. I guess if you accommodate the most common choices they think that’s good enough in most cases?
Maybe Jane took his stuff afterward if you didn't steal his pills.
I think so, I mean you could argue that Jane stole some when Clem wasn't looking. But the game doesn't care to make that clear so it confuses us in the long run!
Yeah I'm sure what TellTale was doing there. I hope it's a character flaw with Arvo, but truth be told I think it's just another hole.
Ooo that actually makes sense!
Then I don't see the point in the choice, if that was the case you should have been forced to steal the supplies.
Yeah this makes the most sense, his group probably wasn't interested is saving his sister's life so he probably took the the meds to hide them, only to later say they were stolen.
not sure*
The meds were for him, not his sister. In either case, stealing or not, he needs an excuse to cover for the now missing meds. I like it, I hope it's not just a hole in the story.
When they first meet him, he tries to toss the medicine in the garbage. He clearly DOESN'T want to 'hide' it (he's a bad liar).
So, I guess he wants to indirectly kill someone out of his group, for whatever reason. And now he needs someone to blame. He's a tricky son of a bitch.
Noone out of Clem's group speaks Russian, and noone out of Arvo's group speaks English. Other than him.
That little asshole can change the facts as much as he wants. He could tell his group they attacked him and nearly killed him, and Clem's group couldn't defend themselves, hell they don't even know he's lying.
He wants to get rid of his group, or someone, but he doesn't want to get caught doing so, and that he managed. Neither Clem's group nor the Russians can talk to the other group to solve it out, so they rely on the only one who can, but he's a lying bitch.
We're so fucked.
I think after Jane leaves, she found Arvo's group and stole all of their medicine offscreen. Which could explain why Arvo accuses Clementine no matter what and Clem can say it was Jane who did it.
There are three possibilities.
I haven't heard this theory before I like this one a lot.
But then people would've complained about that not being a choice at all![:/ :/](https://community.telltalegames.com/resources/emoji/confused.png)
Telltale didn't want to record two sets of dialogue for the same scene? Look at how often the reuse audio, come on really.
So it's better to be fooled into thinking you had a choice rather than actually having one? I don't see the problem Telltale could of had, all they needed to record was a line where Arvo goes
"They think it's funny that you were the ones who nearly stole my supplies"
See that one word would of made it ok, but it feels like the choice wasn't important now as he says you stole from him either way.
I think it was forced on him either way... my real question is why Jane needs all that medicine.... unless she's with another group... :O
I will go with first possibility, and also second EpicMustacheGuy's post. Arvo is more savvy than he appears to be. It would be difficult to survive in the current world considering his situation (e.g., physical, his "sister", language barrier). Being able to manipulate people is useful skill now.
Hmm...he belongs to a group out of necessity and possibly wants to leave. Shades of Russell...?
My question is why provide the option to blame Jane when Clementine obviously likes her? It contradicts their interactions in Episode 4.
He never actually said "YOU TOOK MY MEDS" he just said "I told them you were the ones who robbed me"
