Why would the 400 days characters have goals they wanted to accomplish, but ended up not doing them?

Russel wanted to go back to his grandma's house in Stateboro, but instead he forgets about it and becomes a Carver goon.

Bonnie wanted to run off with Leland, but instead she lost him and became a Carver goon/side character

Wyatt wanted to look for Eddie, but instead becomes a Carver goon too

Shel and Becca well I think they wanted to survive. They didn't seem to carry guns

Vince he seemed to be cool too.

The only people to survive the horde was probably Vince, Shel, and Becca.

So yea why would they have goals they wanted to accomplish, but 16 months later forget about it?

  • Whose to say they didn't come to term with what happened in those 16 months? Plus it WAS a pretty damn good set-up.

  • Well they should have stayed with their plans. Tavia tricked them by making it seem Carver's place was Wellington where there are people of all ages and water. Carver just wanted slaves for labor work. Yea it was a good set up

I'm a bit disappointed how the entire season came out to be. Good story and all, but I highly expected season 2 to be more centered around the 400 days characters and their own stories and personal conflicts. Great potential of all these survivors and they all just became residents of Carver's facility. Every character portrayed in 400 days with their own objectives were sadly tossed away.

But realistically continuing from season 1 makes more sense following Clem's story by meeting a new group and adding unexpected surprises.

I'm just still bummed out how the outcome came to be of these survivors.

    Damn Tavia

  • First off good thread I was actually wondering the same thing seems kind of weird that they would just forget about it. Maybe they wanted to go but couldn't because they were afraid Carver would kill/punish them if they tried to leavr

  • Well, Carver doesn't like people leaving. So I guess they couldn't. Anyway, maybe they will finally complete there goals now that Carver's community is destroyed. Maybe that's why we don't see them on the roof. They could have just left.

  • You seem to think that it's written in stone that they join to Carver's group. In my game only couple of people joined to Carver's group, because I didn't trust to Tavia. Bonnie is the only one who will always join, otherwise your own actions decide if they become part of the Carver's group or not.

TTG hasn't revealed yet what those 400 Days people did who didn't follow Tavia. Maybe they followed their personal agendas or ended up doing something else instead. Who knows.

  • I wouldn't call them slaves. The prisoners who betrayed the camp, cut and run, possibly stole supplies, killed some of their men, threatened Carver's authority, and could've left a breach in their defenses? Yeah, they deserved harsh treatment. But it wasn't even all that bad. It was safe, they got food, they had beds even if they weren't the best, and could work back into the fold. Carver's probably a big demanding dick, yeah. But that's just one tradeoff for one of the best fortified places yet. I mean it didn't seem like a big deal for all the other people. Just like a job to them.

Sides the 400 day characters could be dead following their goals if they didn't join Carver for all we know.

You look at the Cabin, and you see how quickly they abandoned it.
You look at the Ski Lodge, and saw how 4 people took over a group of 9/10.
You see Carver's Fortress and see guards, boarded up fences, expansion plans, well-stocked food supplies, beds, electricity, a garden vehicles with oil. It took a giant radio in the middle of a walker horde to even threaten them. And for all we know they could've survived.

I mean the Cabin Group threw Clem in a goddamn shed. Both sides aren't saints. But I don't think Carver wanted slaves. People who could pull their own weight, yeah. Maybe for his authority to not be undermined. But not slaves necessarily.

Well they should have stayed with their plans. Tavia tricked them by making it seem Carver's place was Wellington where there are people of all ages and water. Carver just wanted slaves for labor work. Yea it was a good set up

well cause those goals were more than 2 years ago i'm sure russel got over getting to his grandmas after 2 years and we don't know what happened between the time of their stories and the time they met up and went with tavia and to my knowledge leland left bonnie so that isn't her fault so there is her goal gone and that was how she ended up with the others we simply don't know what happened with them cause we have had no chance to talk to them but the point is you are not gonna have the same goal for 2 years especially in a zombie apocalypse you will go where your chances of survival are at highest and for the 400 days crew that would be at carver's camp well used to be who knows where they are now...
