What if Season 3 had two groups?

edited August 2014 in The Walking Dead

With all the war going on between people who want Clem as the protagonist or a new one altogether, why can't we have both? What if they introduce a new group and each episode ends with a cliffhanger and you switch to Clem for an episode to add to the suspense. Then in the Season finale both groups meet up by chance. I know people want Clem to be the only protagonist, but why not give others a chance? I know it's a shitty comparison (The only one that came to mind so bear with me), but like 400 days crew when they both keep switching and familiar characters meet at the end? I know I'll get disliked to hell, but I proposed another option. :(

  • I actually don't mind that idea. I think they should do it like how they are doing tales from the borderlands and have two protagonists. One being Clem and the other some new character you play as. Then maybe they eventually meet up.

  • Is there possibility that Clem doesn't make it to the 3rd season? Highly unlikely i'd suspect, and I obviously hope she lives, but is it possible? I don't know much of the canon story from the comics or whatever, so I might be just stupid and Clem is literally the center of the entire series so without her there is no TWD.. let me know :D

  • Isnt Telltale a little to lazy?

I mean that would take a lot more work on there part and i doubt a majority of players would enjoy it, unless Telltale is going to make 3 hour episodes its going to mess up character attachment and development. I dont necessarily think its a bad idea, i just cant see Telltale making that decision.

  • Nah clementines not in the comics.

  • Its a good concept, but the execution of that idea has to be done properly. They have already announced that they are working on a season 3.. So the rest of this year.. and I am guessing if they have started on it now it will be out by late 2015.. So thats about 16 months of time they have to work on the game.

  • oh well then haha. Not even going to bother reading them, just gonna stick with what I know and not confused myself - especially if Clem isn't in them that'll just screw me up haha. Thanks for the info

  • Nonetheless, I can assure you that the comics are pretty good, even if Clem isn't in it. And if you played season 1, you could discover what happened to some characters like Hershel and Glenn, since the world of the comics and the video game are related :).

  • Two Groups = major replay value, and if the groups are decided depending on your Season 2 decisions, then Season 2 will have more meaning.... plus Season 1 should play a part so that all 3 Seasons intertwine.

  • ah that's a good point haha. I'm pretty interested in seeing what happened to them so maybe i'll at least have to look into that. Thanks for the tip!

  • And I'm guessing you want Season 3 to be ready in 2017...

  • if they are doing he same 90 min episodes in season 3, 2 groups would be a disaster. Tons of you are complaining about lack of character development in season 2. If there is two groups in season 3 with the lack of character development season 3 would be a disaster.
