Forming Opinions of Characters
Looking around the forums, it seems that people have a main save file which holds their gut decisions and other files which allow them to explore different options. I do the same, but my question is, when you form opinions about characters, how much do you take into account?
The big example I can give right now is Kenny in episode 4. I didn't cut off Sarita's arm (I have yet to replay having done so), and when I was in the tent with Kenny I largely kept my mouth shut, given that I thought it would be best for him (and me) to let him have his emotions out. Subsequently, Kenny is more sympathetic in that save file that he is if you take the aggregate, where it seems there are far more dialogue trees in which he verbally abuses Clementine.
My question, when you say 'I like ___' or 'I can't stand ____,' do you count your primary save? all of your saves? or the whole branches of dialogue options you've heard about?

I guess I just take my gut decision for most of my opinions on characters, but I guess thats because I replay them in a different way. I always do my gut decision, but I act like the choice I made before isn't an option and I have to pick a new one. It makes for a interesting change but I still like it because I choose that path.
Wow, I actually found another person that didn't cut it off...
We're a rare breed...
I pretty much do the same thing as Shubba. My blind save where you first play as if you were actually Clem is the one where the opinions form. The alt save doesn't really change that much as there aren't any major differences i.e. Kenny giving you more time to try and revive Larry etc.
I just find it interesting to see how different dialogue and actions can effect the game/certain scenarios.
My first save I had chosen to help Lilly in the meat locker, she was pretty nice to Lee while Kenny was a douche.
I used to hate Kenny, and then I replayed season always having his back. Now I like him a lot too.
So yeah, different save files definitely made me change opinions about characters.
Dang, this thread has attracted a lot of people like me... I was totally on Lilly's side in the beginning of S1E2 and S1E3...
That said, even replaying being always on Kenny's side made me somewhat resentful. Sort of like he was a fair weather friend.
I suppose in a way that answers my own question - in my 'real' save he was a vindictive ass in season 1, replaying it from multiple perspectives change (and reaffirmed) my opinion.
Oh, you're better than me in that case. When it's something like lag, or I clicked on something I didn't mean to, I usually take the do-over. If it's something I meant and don't like the result I stick with it though.
I found Kenny to be a likable figure and helped him kill Larry, even if I thought he was too smug about it. Even then, his aggressiveness and bullying of Ben were flaws I couldn't ignore. He was a good character, but should have stayed dead.
He's kind of a living zombie now, with his story regurgitated just so that he can go absolutely bonkers with Lee's adoptive daughter.
