This isn't Clem's story

Saw people saying this is Clem's story. This is from the Walking Dead universe. It's not her story. This is all of our story. It's supposed to bring everyone in to know what it's like in a post apocalyptic world. Playing from Clementine's point of view made sense. So did playing from Lee's. I'm not saying Clem isn't a major part of the story, she is. She represents the innocence left in a world of death.

Playing as Lee you play as a protector
Playing as Clem you are the innocence that helps create a bond between people

There are still different aspect to enjoy. Lee was a protector, but not the leader. He helped decide between Kenny, and whoever else was battling for that position.

I think the next perspective should be as Kenny. The perspective of someone who is trying to lead.

  • Sorry but i beg to differ.

I believe this is clementine story. That when we played as lee, we were getting her prepared for this world, it was for her, her story. But we all have our opinions..

  • kenny's story should end don't get me wrong i love kenny but he's story come to the end of the line

  • I'm sorry but I have to disagree with you. Even if you didn't play as Clem in s1, this game is about Clem's survival. First you play as Lee, her caretaker who wants to show her the way of survival. Then you play as Clem, as she is put to the test. So far in TT's adaption of TWD, its been about Clementine's survival. That won't change until they change the playable character.

  • You can say that about anyone. For all you know an amazing story line has been written up for him. A writer could decide Clem's luck is going to run out if they wanted to.

  • Depends on your perspective. From yours Lee was preparing her. I could argue that the first season was about Lee. He was a convicted murderer on his way to prison. He is given the chance to protect an innocent child. He does so at the cost of his own life. He has been redeemed for the murder he committed

  • This might not be Clem's universe, but this is Clem's game. At least the last 2 seasons have been.

    Kenny as PC? Hahah!! No.

  • Except it is her story. Because its a video game

    but ok

  • This is undoubtedly Clementine's story. Lee may have been the protagonist in Season 1, but Clem was definitely always at the core of that story arc. Hell, one could probably argue that she was a more important character when she wasn't the protagonist.

  • "The Walking Dead: Season Two continues the story of Clementine" Straight from the Steam store page, it's Clem's story.

  • I view it as a story for survival of every character, not just Clem. The same goes with the comics and TV show, I view that story as a story of survival and how the WHOLE GROUP copes. I don't base a story around just one character in TWD.

  • they hinted at it in episode 4.

  • Kenny as the pc wouldn't work because he already has set characteristics. The reason Clem and Lee work as pcs is because you can take their personalities in pretty much any direction you want. With Kenny, everybody knows him as a hot headed, protective man that does not take losses well.

  • I agree with you 100%. Some people think this game is all about one character, there are many many, people working on this game, it just isn't one Voice Actor. Unfortunately right now the story is so bad, i wouldn't mind if they restarted at this point.

  • This is definitely not anyone's story other than the player's story.

"The story is tailored how YOU play."

  • Technically its not, because all the outcomes end up the same damn way. Nick still dies, Sarah still dies, no one can escape the curse of the determinant.

  • Yeah I believe that this game series version centers around Clementine just as like the comics and tv show based off the comics center around Rick and his post-apocalyptic life. Also why I believe that Tell-Tale will not kill Clementine and if they did she would be the last person they'd think of killing unless they were ready to wrap up their version of the walking dead permanently. It would be like Kirkman killing off Rick from the comics. and that would probably disappoint a lot of fans of the comic.

  • Haha.

The game is following Clem's story arc, but they can end that. At the snap of TTG's fingers Clem's story is gone.

They say this game is Clem's story, that means 400 Days doesn't count. Yeah just fuck 400 Days! NO CLEM NO BUY!

    Lol that makes me laugh.

  • Melissa will not want to be a 11 year old girl's voice forever, she will want to move on with her life eventually.

It SHOULD be Clementine's story, rather than about her watching some middle-aged man go bananas.

CrazyGeorge, I think you're just uncomfortable with having to play as a little girl. Voice actors grow attached to their characters and Melissa would definitely love playing Clementine in future roles.

  • Sorry to break it to you but this is 100% Clementine's story.

Words taken straight from Sean Vanaman's mouth

"Though Lee Everett is the character you control in The Walking Dead, he wasn’t the character that the game is built around. “Clementine was literally the first idea,” says Vanaman, who planned Episode Fives’s outcome before writing a single line of dialogue."

I sure am! Wait if I say I'm in denial then that means I'm not in denial because if I were in denial I couldn't admit to it.

  • I think it is Clementine's story.

In Season 1, Lee's main goal was to protect Clementine and teach her how to survive.

In Season 2, Clementine is playable and survival comes to play, we play in Clementine's perspective.

The game is focused on Clementine, thus making it her story, otherwise she is just a very very very very very important character.

  • kenny has to much self development to ever be the P C clementine's has bin the central of the story in season 1 and season 2

While yeah, in the walking dead universe there is of course many potential stories besides Lee's and Clem's, it would feel strange to me to play as Kenny after two seasons. I think Clem worked because even after season 1 ended, she still felt fairly enigmatic. I agreed with Katjaa in ep. 3 when she remarked that Clem was a "puzzle." So she could still take a player's input because it felt like we really could mold her.

But I don't think Kenny ever was a puzzle to me. He's always worn his motivations and feelings on his sleeve, so if I played as him, I think I'd feel constrained by that. Not saying he's shallow, just doesn't feel like PC material to me. I'd be fine with Kenny surviving to season 3 (even though I doubt that outcome), but if I would choose between playing as Kenny or playing as someone new, I'd rather play someone new. If Clementine is not an option.
