The worst thing about Larry isn't that he's an asshole. The worst thing is that he's such an over-the-top asshole he kinda killed my suspens… moreion of disbelief. Even in a zombie apocalypse...hell, especially in a zombie apocalypse, when nerves are on edge and people already have enough on their minds...anyone that relentlessly abusive to everyone around him would have been thrown out of the group long before three months elapsed.
Not to mention that Larry trying to kill Lee after Lee spent a big chunk of Episode 1 looking for meds to save his life never seems to get brought up again after a single throw-away comment near the end of that episode.
Season 1: The Stranger, he is the reason why Lee is dead. And he was evil. And I hate him.
Season 2: Michelle, She killed one of my favourite characters in any game ever, RIP Omid, you deserved better.
S1: Chet - if he stays the night at the Greene farm instead of going home, he would have been there to help with the fence in the morning; which means an extra body to help rescue Shawn/Duck. No one dies. Herschel doesn't kick anyone off the farm, and Lee/Clem/Kenny-n-family get to stay; so none of the rest happens.
400 days: Dee - if I don't act, she kills me. If I do act, she calls me a junkie and curses me for killing her. Good riddance.
S2: (could change with ep5): Arvo - I gave you back your bag of supplies and you still accuse me of robbing you and ambush my group. If I get the chance, I'm going to beat you with your own leg brace.
Season 1 Christa. She was always a over opinionated woman with strong feminist feelings, and well that didn't sit well with me, she is always blaming me for things i did with Clementine. Like this one time we went into a train station and she got all high in mighty with me. and i told her to mind her own business.
DLC: Justin - I hate thieves. I think Danny was innocent. He said he was falsely accused, and i believe him. Justin was garbage, he would steal old people's life savings in a pyramid scheme. It made the choice so much simplier, DIE JUSTIN.
S2: Clementine- She is a boring protagonist, she doesn't have any emotion in this game. The situations that they have created are justifiably laughable. Everyone has to relay on Clementine, for survival, she is the "only" person capable of turning off the wind turbine. Really Game? I mean i just figured it out in five seconds, your telling me CARLOS a doctor didn't know what to do.
Larry: He was always being a piece of shit to Lee and Kenny, dares to say Lily has been making hard choices when it's Lee, and leaves Lee to die(Thanks Kenny for helping Lee)
Lily: She killed Carley just for insulting her, I forgave her and then she stole the car and left the group to die
Vernon: He stole the boat from Kenny and left the group to die
The Stranger: He got Lee bit because he took Clem
400 Days
Becca: She seems just like a bully honestly, she has no compassion for anything but her sister, just give me the moment when Clem tells her off
Tavia: In 400 days she seemed nice but in episode 3 she is a complete bitch for no reason, I hoped she died during the zombie attack
Season 2
Michelle: She killed Omid(R.I.P BROMID)
Troy: he hit Clem twice and thought he was tough shit
Carver: He breaks Carlos' fingers, kills Walter, kills or beats Alvin, slaps Clem, makes Carlos slap Sarah, kills Reggie and beats Kenny
I draw a distinction between hated in terms of the story by the result of their actions and characters i didn't like in general. I thought Ben was an complete tool and i despised him as i was playing the game, but that was the point of Ben so he was a very effective character.
But Rebecca is the only character ive just flat out disliked during both seasons, so far. She was poorly written and was generally insufferable as a character in the game. It sucked having so much of the plot in the last couple episodes revolve around her.
no one is asking for Sympathy on Larry. Larry was an awful person, but I'd say he isn't "Cartoonish". The man had reasons for his actions and a person who he (abusively yes) depended on but there are awful people in the world and some people are also Stuck in association with awful people.
A villain that's far fits the "Cartoonish" bit was Troy and Carver. They had next to nil Motivations nor goals nor relations and hardly any history. Also there was no development.
Depending on your actions Larry DOES have Development. If you help Lilly and Larry the brief moments in Episode 2 he can't say a bad word to lee or else it'd upset Lilly.
He's implied to be an abusive father both in his actions and by interviews, which makes his daughter's clinginess to him both tragic and fru… morestrating. She needed to get away from him, although not in such a traumatic manner. And, of course, you can assume his tension towards Lee to be racially motivated in part. I'll never forgive that ingrateful shit for trying to murder Lee - Kenny really went up in my opinion for saving Lee.
So I still have no sympathy for him and don't regret killing him. Same with Dee, who the game forces you into killing anyway.
I'm saying her killing Carley and Doug is a valid reason to hate her because that was an actual action fueled by Character flaw.
"She never once risked her life?" Um, hello someone has to be on the base to hold the fort. Would it be better to leave the camp with just the children, Ben, Katjaa back there? She's the one who handles weapons and watches. She's the one who ended up shooting a ton of walkers when the Bandits and walkers broke in, took the highest position on the opposite walkway and was the LAST to get in the RV fending them off.
And the one time she did let someone else watch it, Ben ended up being threatened and used as a traitor/smuggle mule for bandits. She took up a leader position and ended up being the one everyone villainized because she made the tough decisions and carried them out. That was the entirety of the Food division puzzle.
Also she had reasons to be paranoid? Have you ever been stalked before? Well I doubt you have, It's the single most non-agressive victimizing thing because it wares down on you mentally. What would happen if you were in a camp with 2 murderers, one of who Killed your father (and subsequently blames you for everything wrong that happened and also threatens to leave), and suddenly you realize your camp is being watched every moment of every day, just watching but not being attacked. And someone within your camp who you have to protect/trust is breaking into your room every night to watch you and steal your meds. Her "Poor" personality is not baseless.
Also Idk what playthrough you've been playing but the only time she criticizes your hunting is when you Bring two strangers, one of who's injured but no food because You now have to use your limited supplies to feed these guys too. (hint hint, this is why the feeding everyone mini game is right after this). The other time is because you quite literally Send the entire group to a cannibal farm but even then she doesn't blame you unless you help smash her dad's head in.
Also she NEVER wanted to throw out Duck. That was LARRY. Once you say you have kids with you and you don't antagonize her dad, she's the one holding her dad BACK and saying He should wait and they should handle this.
So no, your incorrect that she throws "baseless" accusations. Especially when Kenny is just as bad/if not worse that he is. And Lee isn't squeeky clean either. The only difference is Kenny goes hot and cold after Episode 2 but Lilly was a slow descent of stress, fear and anger. And tbh, if your having a stressful situation like everything she's been through You'd fair no better. She was far more patient even if you antagonize the crap out of her. Can't say the same for everyone else.
I don't like her because she is paranoid and throws out baseless accusations. She never once risked herself despite the fact that I took the… more necessary steps to save her dad in episode one. We don't see her go hunting or scavenging in town, though she is more than happy to criticize the efforts of the people who do. While Kenny has some of the share of the divide in the group, she escalates it. Basically, she has a poor personality and we don't see her do much on-screen other than talk people down and throw out accusations. Other people contribute to the group. She is essentially an instigator and not as useful on-screen as the other characters. Her killing a character was just all of that manifested into one moment. In my eyes, she didn't have one redeeming quality. Also, while she did not want to kill Duck, she wanted to put him out, which is essentially the same thing when you get down to it.
Also, I never mentioned Carley or Doug in my original post. I don't know why you had to throw that in there.
Season 1 Christa. She was always a over opinionated woman with strong feminist feelings, and well that didn't sit well with me, she is alway… mores blaming me for things i did with Clementine. Like this one time we went into a train station and she got all high in mighty with me. and i told her to mind her own business.

The character I like the least from both seasons is Kenny.
I know people adore the guy, and more power to ya. This is just a personal thing perhaps, but it's how I feel about the characters, so it's my honest answer to the OP.
To me Kenny became and remains an idiot who the game has sadly not allowed me to get rid off. He changes the way I play the game. I played season 1 happily, until he really started to piss me off. When I realised that simply disagreeing with him on one thing lost me all credit for saving his son and helping him in general, I started to purposefully play against him. After Carley was shot, there was really only one purpose left besides protecting Clem (and perhaps this was an extension of protecting Clem); getting rid of Kenny. I started becoming painfully aware that I was (and am) playing a game, because the game kept (keeps) playing these planned scenes where Lee/Clem and Kenny are getting along way better than I would have wanted/felt like was reasonable to assume.
I was happy when I managed to avoid having Kenny join me at the end of season 1 (finally rid of him).
And then he shows up in season 2 all "Hey Clementine, old buddy, old pal" - to which Clem should've replied: "Fuck this. You guys can stay with Kenny, I'm moving along cause he's a crazy person!".
If I hadn't bought the season pass right when season 2 came out, I might well have stopped playing after episode two... But then again, even with Kenny I do like these games.
TLDR: Kenny is my least favourite character because his existence constantly breaks my suspension of disbelief.

Season 2: Sarah, even more useless than Ben, but also she attracts the walkers a lot with her screaming, and get's the group in trouble.
And before Lily would have become leader, after the first week of Larry treating literally everyone like shit 24/7, I think she and Larry would have been told he either needs to lay off being such an asshole or she and her dad could find another group.
Season 1- Larry, what a douchebag asshole. He tried to murder Lee when Lee had literally saved his sorry ass and then blackmails him. He acts like a douche to everyone in the group especially Lee
I just figured the rest of the group didn't want to mess with the turbine and make it worse. And Clementine's father was an engineer, so maybe she knows a little something about those things. But yeah, it is a bit hard to take seriously.

So Lee was afraid to reveal his past for various reasons.
You don't have to agree with it, but you have to at least understand why one would feel that way in Lee's position, right? This isn't some big suspension of disbelief breaking thing.
The start of Season 2 was months after the end of Season 1, hence Christa being in her third trimester. It would also support Clementine being 11 after the 16 months. She would still have been 9 years old though, but around 9 and 2/3.
And before Lily would have become leader, after the first week of Larry treating literally everyone like shit 24/7, I think she and Larry wo… moreuld have been told he either needs to lay off being such an asshole or she and her dad could find another group.
Racially motivated? Really? I never got an indication that he was an abusive father at all, that's an exaggeration and jumping to conclusions, he was an asshole, but he wasn't the damn devil for crying out loud, and killing him because he pissed you off, I find that to be petty.
He's implied to be an abusive father both in his actions and by interviews, which makes his daughter's clinginess to him both tragic and fru… morestrating. Not if the guy who is all muscle is a borderline psycho who demands children be thrown to the walkers without bothering to check and make sure they're actually bitten, or who tries to murder the man who just risked his life to get medicine for him, or who generally ostracizes and antagonizes every last member of the group. In such a circumstance, having a guy who is all muscle around would actually be pretty scary.
If I were Lee, even if I were worried about admitting my past, I would be more worried about spending three months in close quarters with a man who attempted to murder me.

season 1:
Lilly. I just found her to be really passive aggressive, self centered, defensive, and overall just a bitch. I tried to be nice to her initially in the Everett's shop, but she was just so abrasive the whole time. I get her Dad the pills, and she says thanks, but then goes back to being cold and distant with me and the group. I never really felt that she cared about anyone in the group other than herself and Larry, and the way she spoke to Carley rubbed me the wrong way. Her getting really paranoid and killing Carley before stealing our only means of transportation definitely didn't improve my already negative opinion of her.
400 Days:
Justin. I thought he was a condescending douchebag. I didn't like how he bragged about how much money he had saved up, or about faking remorse/tears during his prosecution. I can't stand people who lie, much less people who brag about lying.
season 2 (so far):
Luke. He's the type of guy who talks a big game, but doesn't actually know what he's talking about and ends up dropping the ball. He's just too damn nice, I often feel as though he's being disingenuous. He talks about how important the group is, but has ditched them twice already. The first time because he was being a coward, and the second time was because he wanted to get laid. He wants to be the leader, but he's not fit for that role at all. (I could go on, but eh, I'm too tired.)
He thought Lee was a killer who was running a sham to stay alive, I wouldn't trust Lee either, though I wouldn't be as rash or paranoid as Larry and wouldn't knock him out.
If I were Lee, even if I were worried about admitting my past, I would be more worried about spending three months in close quarters with a man who attempted to murder me.

Christa's strong will (or "feminist feelings") are precisely why I love her!
TLDR: Kenny is my least favourite character because his existence constantly breaks my suspension of disbelief.
I found her to be a intrusive nosy person, and was generally pleased when she went "missing."
His beard is going to strangle you with both hands for posting this.
Have to totally agree with you about Clementine. Hopefully this will be her final episode as protagonist.
Season 1. Ben, almost completely useless and because of him, Carley is dead.

I don't think need to explain why...
Don't you think Larry, a guy who's all muscle, would come in handy during the apocalypse?

anger all muscle and a really bad heart is a bad mix i'll bet larry in 3 months ate through all the heart pills they got at lthe drug store
i know right, how many more episodes of Clementine do we need. I would rather play as Arvo at this point.
Not if the guy who is all muscle is a borderline psycho who demands children be thrown to the walkers without bothering to check and make sure they're actually bitten, or who tries to murder the man who just risked his life to get medicine for him, or who generally ostracizes and antagonizes every last member of the group. S2, Sarah, somehow TT managed create a character that was more useless than Duck and Ben combined.
