Do you think that a book based on season 1 could be good?

Hi I'm new to the forums so bear with me if what I say doesn't make sense lol.

I do think it could work because The Walking Dead is very narrative and story driven unlike most zombie games and the story is more about character development and making you feel a connection to all the characters which is a key in literary works. Not only could the book tell the story effectively but maybe it could also maybe put in some more details that we would appericiate. Nothing big of course but it could be cool if they could add something like the group helping Mark escape the Air Force base. Such an addition could not only fill in some plot but also give us more of a chance to connect with Mark and find out more about him and his character since we didn't get to see a lot of unfortunately. Maybe the biggest problem with the book would be choices and determints. I'm not sure that they'd want to write a book and have everyone read it and then make certain choices not look canon. They could base the choices made in the book on the most popular choices made by players I guess but idk. So I think it could work. What about you?

  • The right author can make just about any subject good.

  • I would read it

  • If the author was good, then I would read.

  • If Charlie Higson wrote it I would definitely buy it. In case you don't know who he is, he made my favorite series The Enemy. Its about a disease that is similar to TWD but instead it turns only grown-ups into zombie like creatures. So its basically kids vs adults. I'd go as far to say its written just as well if not BETTER than TWD. It has AMAZING character depth and always keeps you on your toes. If you couldn't tell by now I ABSOLUTELY FREAKING LOOOVE IT!!!

  • Well, it'd make the choices canon. a lot of people could be upset if the book didn't make their choices....

I'd like either that or a oneshot comic issue about the timeskip inbetween Ep1 and 2 of S1 like you say helping Mark. It wouldn't be breaking canon because we didn't make any decisions on that. Robert Kirkman and Telltale collab or something, That or what every character was doing on Day 1 of the outbreak like Omid and Christa's trip, Kenny and family, Chuck, Ben etc. The Stranger's story in comic form would be good :3

  • I think these are all amazing ideas :D

  • I'm not so sure. One of the things that made Season 1 enjoyable is how the player interacts with Clementine and other characters. Something that likely wouldn't make the transition to book form.
