Sooo, Luke and Jane...

Do you think Telltale are going to follow that stuff up between them in a Season 3? Becaause I don't know about you, but I would love for Jane come back in a third season so we could see more development on her and Luke as a thing, more so just to see Luke get annoyed at her for why she took off without a goodbye XD

But not just that, both these characters have different outlooks to surviving in an apocalypse; so where Luke's more to sticking to a group and risking his life for others, Jane's more to staying solo and tries not to build attachments to others to the point she may even leave people behind so long as she can live. I just think it'd be a really interesting dynamic to be built on if Luke does survives this season by some miracle and lives through to a third one.

That and the two of them together kind of remind me of a less goofy version of Leon and Ada from Resident Evil. You know, how Ada was the smooth talking spy who kept running off and Leon was the naive rookie cop who kept yelling "Ada wait!" every time that she did. I could see Luke and Jane being a little similar, in that if the group does come across her in the future, Jane might help them for a bit, but she might eventually end up parting ways again.

What do you guys think? Would you want to see a follow up on these two or for Jane to return? Or would you rather the game leaves it as it is in that Jane's character disappeared and is never seen again?

Comments

  • Nah they're so boring honestly. too basic. they just aren't interesting. sorry

  • Jane's the Molly of this season probably not gonna be seen again.

  • I don't like Jane so I kind of hope she doesn't return.

  • "Look, Luke's a nice guy, but it's not like that. And it can't ever be like that."

  • Boo what's with all the pessimism from you guys? I'd like to see her come back to work off Luke. Luke and Jane are similar in some interesting ways. I could see Luke and Jane having some conflict over how they treat Clem though. Like Luke wouldn't want Clem to do something seemingly cold and heartless, while Jane will insist she does it so she'll be ready to do something like that (like when Jane encouraged Clem to take care of walker-Nick. Even if the situation was different and Luke wasn't Nick's friend, Luke wouldn't want Clem to take care of a walker they had known if he could help it.)

I think it'd also be interesting to see Jane try to adjust to an environment like Wellington, if it actually is a safe haven and doesn't only appear to be on the surface. (I'm not sure if she would step into Wellington in the first place, but if she was with at least Luke and Clem, she might, forcing her out of her comfort zone.) I think the comics sorta touched on this with how (after they reached a safe zone where life was pretty much normal, like pre-ZA) Michonne overreacted to someone repeatedly insisting on cooking her an honest neighborly meal and asking what Michonne wanted to eat, because they were "worried" Michonne wouldn't like what they made:

If Jane were in that situation, I think she'd react similarly. I can see Luke trying to comfort/calm her down afterwards. Maybe she'd leave the town and thus Luke and Clem behind at that point. Orrr, as Jane doesn't seem to be as trusting as Luke is, I bet she'd be a lot more paranoid in a community like that, even if the place really is safe. It could be an Andrea/Michonne situation like from the show (where suspicious Michonne tried to convince Andrea to leave the fishy Woodbury), but there'd be no actual threat here.

Or it could be something smaller and cuter, where Luke struggles with something silly and Jane shows him up lol. E.g. Luke struggles lighting a fire from scratch for ten minutes, and Jane comes over and silently lights it from scratch in no time, then walks away, leaving Luke with a sour expression on his face hehe.

  • I don't like Jane that much, I liked Molly better, so I don't really want Jane to return, to be honest.

I also don't want any romantic subplot in TWDG :( Small hints like Lee/Carley are okay, but otherwise it's a no-go for me :/

  • Got to question how someone could function in that way of life again after living in a world with dead trying to eat you :S It'd feel weird, definitely. I kinda question what Jane's character would do if she got to be in someplace nice again and if she'd ever readjust, heck, if any of them would. How did Michonne do in the comic/tv series? I never saw many of those episodes where they got to some Safe Zone. I only remember Andrea being over naive x_x

I can imagine Jane must know a lot of cool moves like those she taught Clem. If Luke ever got on her nerves Jane could just knee him and go 'bye bye' walk on her way XD Some really interesting and cute ideas though you mention there. You should write it in a fic <.< >.>

How do you mean about Nick though if he wasn't Luke's friend? Because if he wasn't Luke's friend and Luke was there instead of Clem he'd just let her kill a walker like he let her help along in Episode 2 o.o explain.

  • I'm going to be honest, I don't like Jane a great deal. I like her much more than I did in Episode 3 though, because Episode 4 brought out more of her character. I guess I just love the idea of there being more development with her character with the others in the future because of how she can be with it comes to surviving and around people in general [and there's potential for disagreements onthat].

But like you said, the small hints with Lee and Carley were okay, if really sweet. Doesn't need a Titanic romance sinking it :p

Yeah I don't think any of them could really readjust completely back to normal either. I didn't read the comic, just skimmed the wiki, but basically the other characters couldn't really click back to normal; Michonne came to the party to be polite to their new hosts, but the women were just gossiping and trying to set her up with guys. Then when she tries to leave, they insist on cooking her something, and after she politely refuses, then the scene above happens. After she leaves the party, she confides in a friend that she was not only frustrated in the convo, but it also made her feel alone. :( If I have to be honest, I don't think Jane would go to the party in the first place unless she was forced to. But if she was, I can see her reacting similarly. Or she'd just be flat-out rude to them the whole time haha. In the show, Michonne was super suspicious of Woodbury from the start, and she had every reason to be. She was the only one in the community with balls enough to not be a sheep and poke around and realize there was something wrong with this picture-perfect town. Andrea had tried to commit suicide before, so I can see why she wanted to hold onto the hope of a safe place, even though it was really naive.

Haha oh I'd love her to just knee him; that'd be hilarious. And thanks! But one fic at a time. :P

Ehh actually maybe I didn't mean that exactly. What I meant was, if it was a friend-turned-walker, I don't think Luke would've made Clem put them down for practice, like Jane did. Of course Luke trusts Clem to take down walkers!...But walkers they once knew? When I said, "Even if the situation was different and Luke wasn't Nick's friend," I meant, even if they had a walker who wasn't someone Luke had known for twenty years, but still someone they had known. E.g. if they had found Arvo as a walker, I think Luke would've disagreed with Jane about making Clem practice putting him down. Does that make sense? Hm probably should've worded that better before.

I could also see Luke and Jane doing something fun and adorable with Clem. :3 Like maybe Jane and Clem pull a prank on Luke. ;D Maybe Luke could've just changed into freshly cleaned clothes (they should really get around to cleaning them) and Clem and Jane are all bloody from killing walkers and they come up and tackle him haha!!
