Moments in video games that made you very sad,or cry Thread

edited August 2014 in General Chat

I have my fair share of them.

1.The walking dead season 2 episode 2 ending;it surprisingly made me cry.I don't know if it was the feeling that they were fucked,or "In the pines" as the credit song, all I know is that it was a damn emotional roller coaster from the start to the end of the episode.

2.Infamous Second Son:Remembering Reggie; He was probably my favorite side character in the game.He died trying to save Delsin, and to make it worse in the good ending, you see Delsin spary-painting over Reggie's billboard, putting angel wings over him.I cried a bit :(

3.Infamous 2:Good ending;Cole activates the machine that will kill all conduits to save everyone from the beast.Of course,he kills himself in the process. He is remembered as a hero, and Zeke says his final goodbyes.:'(

That's all for my list!Feel free to share your sad moments too! :)

    The ending of Valiant Hearts.

I'm not even gonna mention The Walking Dead, lol.

    • Mordin and Thanes' deaths in Mass Effect 3. The endings are also pretty depressing.
    • Rule of Rose; the entire game.
    • The endings of Final Fantasy X and XIII-2. Also the "sad" ending of X-2 and every time Yuna remembered Tidus.
    • All of the canon endings in the Fatal Frame games.
    • Lisa's mutation/death in Silent Hill 1 and Harry's death in 3.

I've never played MGS,but I've heard good things about it.Its on "playstation now" right now on ps4,so I might check it out.I like Splinter Cell,so I should like MGS too, right?

    BTW,I'm pretty sure it's MGS4 you're talking about.

  • Sarah and Rebeccas death. I mean Sarah was getting eaten alive infront of Clem and she was screaming for her daddy :( And Rebecca died with her son in her arms, that was very sad for me too.

  • Lee's death makes me cry EVERY TIME. Liek if u cri evrytiem.

  • To The Moon. The whole game. You guys gotta play it, it's really good but a real tear jerker.

  • Yes.

Lee's death makes me cry every time I see it. EVERY. TIME.

  • The one thing that truly broke and me and made me hurt so badly inside, that I couldn't even cry, was the little zombie boy from Season 1, Epi 4? Oh my gosh I could NOT believe a game made me that sad ha ha, it broke me

  • I forgot about that part! He was so skinny that he couldn't even stand up. It was so depressing :(

  • I forgot too,lol.

I forgot about that part! He was so skinny that he couldn't even stand up. It was so depressing

  • ...well there was this jewelry store... (Breaks down) =(

  • The Last of Us ending and The Walking Dead Season 1 ending

    • A few moments from TWD. Most notably Duck and Katjaa's untimely demise and of course, Lee's death. In season two, the watching Sarita die and leaving Sarah behind were both horrible.

    • The White Phosphorous scene from Spec-Ops: The Line made me feel like a horrible person and gave me nightmares.

    • Strangely a lot of dialogue during GTA IV made me really depressed, especially whenever Niko mentions the Yugoslav War and what it's done to him. In one scene, a lady asks Niko if he ever fears for his soul. His response?

After you walk into a village, and you see fifty children, all sitting neatly in a row against the church wall, each with their throats cut and their hands chopped off, you realize that the creature that could do this doesn't have a soul.

    • Lee's death - This is like the only death in a game that actually made me cry.

    • Sarah's death (in Last of Us) - I felt really bad for Joel and we had only known him for like 20 minutes at that point

    • Vivian's death (Wolf Among Us) - her speech right before made me realize just how much people in Fabletown had been suffering

  • "To the Moon."

Jesus Fucking Christ was that game depressing.

Also, during Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons, you have to control two brothers with both of your analog sticks. One brother uses the left side, including the L2 and L1 buttons, while the other is vice versa. At one point, the R brother is killed in a freak betrayal, and you have to get the L brother back to their father who is sick, but he has the potion to save him. The L brother normally cannot cross rivers without his brother's help, and then you come up to a river. You then have to attempt to ford the river, but you use the R buttons along with the L buttons.

    The feels man. The feels.

  • The Walking Dead Game: Lee's death(#NeverForget)

MGS: Big Boss killing The Boss(And it turns she was good guy(Girl?) all along!)

RDR: John Marston's death( Man, I never saw it coming.

AC: Ezio's death( This was a DVD, but since they came from video games I put it here)

The Last Of Us: Prologue(It was sad to see Joel's daughter die because of that asshole soldier)

Mass Effect: Mordin and Thane's deaths(They gone out like heroes)

  • I'm a twenty five year old man, and that particular scene from Spec-Ops gave me nightmares as well.

"To kill for yourself is murder. To kill for your government is heroic. To kill for entertainment is harmless."

Goddamn that game gave me chills.

  • That didn't phase me much, what phased me was seeing the buried dog. I guess I got used to seeing things like that to humans, but not animals.
