crows/ravens in the game and christa

people say that whenever you see a crow or ravens there's almost a 100% chance someone will die ex: sarita if you didn't chop her arm off the crows went flying and if you chopped her arm off the crows are standing still because she was not in the tent with kenny

i think christa is dead because you hear a crow fly away and scaring clementine before you see christa and those bandits attacking her

thoughts?

  • I don't remember the crow but I heard Christa scream when you're running away from the bandits.

  • Now that you mentioned it I remember seeing a murder of crows just past the tent in episode 4. I felt like they were out of place....

  • Aww shoot I hope that's not the case....maybe it was to represent the death of one of the bandits, like Winston? :/

  • Damn Crows. >:I

  • Crows are magical animals, with powers of the afterlife!

BTW, they are crows, since in the files it's called 'sk_crow.prop' or whatever.

I've noticed you don't see or hear crows at all during determinant deaths, from the looks.

Well there were crows at the opening of season two episode one... and then Omid died soon after...

There were crows while Clem was walking til' she found Sam... then Sam died soon after.

You can hear some sort of bird (definitely not a crow) when you find Pete's dead body.

You can hear a crow (though it's very quiet) when Clem and Luke start on the bridge, which then Matthew's death comes after

Don't think I heard or saw a crow for the unimportant character Johnny.

Definitely no crows for Walter's death.

None for anyone who died in episode three.

You don't hear or see anything for Sarita unless you don't cut off her arm.

You do hear crows before finding Nick's corpse (that shit caught me by surprise)

And you don't hear any for Sarah's death(s) or Rebecca's death.

  • but we KNOW the crows symbolize death and we heard one just before christa getting stabbed by those bandits right?

I think that the one crow that you see when you climb up the chair lift or whatever to get a better view symbolized the deaths of Johnny, Nick, Walter, and Alvin (determinant).

  • Yeah, they do symbolize death, but does that mean that every death will have it, or is it just a coincidence? I was just testing the theory.

  • Fair point.

Turn up your volume before Reggie's death and you can hear crows being quite noisy in the background.

Also Clementine wakes up to a crow cawing the day they were planning the escape, and it can be heard throughout the whole day.

I think you can also hear crows in the background when Clem's talking to Jane on their way to save Luke and Sarah.

Rebecca's death seems to be the only death devoid of any crows, but then again, we did see a whole flock of crows for the first time not long ago.

  • Okay now I hear it. xD I guess I forgot about that part.

  • The flock of crows flies away depending on the manner of Sarita's death:

Here's a gif of both instances for those curious :

If you don't cut the arm, they fly away. If you do, they don't.

  • So a crow flying away represents death... crows flew away before Omid's death...before Sarita's.....before the bloodbath at the lodge... before Reggie... ...Perhaps before Rebecca...

  • There was a bird flying when Katjaa died, too.

For Sarah's and Rebecca's death I think the murder of crows past the tent may have been that. I'm going to check back in game and count how many were there. I counted 15 little crow heads.

  • If you listen closely when Clem is running away if you distract the bandits with Christa (idk if it still happens when you sneak away) you can hear Christa yell, fall, get kicked or hit or something, and then a gunshot. So it sounds like she got killed, but we all know about off screen deaths. And also why would they keep bringing her up in both episodes if she's just dead anyway? I'M SO TORN.
