How Nick should have died

What I would have done with Sarah and Nick's death is this :
If i wrote episode 4 Sarah would still be determinant but in another way, she would be at the Gift shop with the group.
If you saved Nick, Sarah would fall from deck, and she gets trapped underneath it.
While Clementine and Jane are arguing about saving Sarah, the camera shows Nick's angry face.
Nick looks down at Sarah, closes his eyes and jumps from the deck, then, he tries to help Sarah in any way he can, in that moment you can hear Luke shouting at Nick : "Nick, you cannot save her!"
Nick raises his head, looking luke right in the eyes, then he looks at Sarah who is screaming.
Nick says to himself : "I cannot always do nothing"
Nick raises his eyes looking at the walkers, badass hero music comes in.
Nick tries very hard to get Sarah out of there, but the walkers are always coming closer.
Nick manages to pull out Sarah, while the group tries to keep the walkers away shooting them.
Ammo is low, Luke orders not to shoot anymore.
Nick tells Sarah to get on his shoulders, she hardly manages to do it because now she has two broken legs, but Clem, with the help of Luke manages to pull her up.
Nick gets grabbed by a walker and gets bit one time in the arm.
He quickly punches the walker in the face, then starts to fight the rest of the walkers getting bitten all over his corpse screaming "I don't fear you anymore!"
Nick can't even breathe now, but he manages to walk to a tree nearby while the walkers are still following him, distracting them from the group.
Nick sits down near the tree, looking at the group on the deck giving a glance at Luke, walkers eat him.
If Nick is not saved Sarah will die, because Jane will refuse to help her.
What do you think about that?

When we save somebody does he have to become a badass?
I think that would be awesome. They made Kenny look heroic once so why not!
He doesn't? Nick is still weak, he just realizes that his fears will not get him anywhere.
I love the idea of Nick saving Sarah. I wish it had happened.
I make up my own continuity when I don't like what "really" happened all the time. It's fun, and as long as you're happy, no one can tell you you're wrong.
Wanna set it in STONE, though? I would suggest drawing a comic-style paneled version of how you "wish" it happened. Then It's B-Canon in my book.![;) ;)](https://community.telltalegames.com/resources/emoji/wink.png)
I don't find it corny, I think that would be Nick wanting to show Luke's his determination in doing something right.
Wish I could draw![:( :(](https://community.telltalegames.com/resources/emoji/frowning.png)
Hehe, I'm writing a fan fiction where Nick, Sarah, and Sarita make it out of the herd.
What's is it called i would like to read it
also Sara AND Nick DID make it out of the herd (but i do get what you mean)
Well, what I mean is that they all make it out together and survive in their own little group as a deviation from the game's canon.
If I recall correctly, advertising your fan fictions on other threads besides the designated one is against the rules? So I'm hesitant to post the link. But it's called "Mark My Footsteps" and it's on the website Archive of Our Own.
I think it would be more logical and realistic if that if you saved nick, then tried to save Sarah in the trailer park, that this should happen
You hear both nick and Luke talking, and if you try to call out to the door instead of punching or kicking it, nick would open it for you instead of Clem kicking it down as he was watching the door for Luke. You also will not have to help jane fight the walkers when they bust through the door as nick will do that, so Clem just pushes the desk. Then if you try to save Sarah since you wasted all that time getting Sarah to move not everyone makes it out. Nick is last out and Nicks foot is grabbed, he gets pulled of the desk and eaten while Luke watches in horror. Luke will then yell at Clem, blaming her for nicks death, and if Clem told him that people die because of her, he will bring it up. Later on the walk back Luke will apologise for yelling, saying that she was just trying to save her friend and that that's what he should have done. (This ending adds a coniquince to saving Sarah, as well as actually showing Luke caring about his friend) Sarah will then die like she does normally.
However if you didn't save Sarah, you get nick. Nick is silent on the walk back and when everyone gives out jobs, Luke tells nick to help him watch out for walkers, but nick says he needs a minute and sits down nearby looking depressed. You have the option to talk to him, like you can with Sarah if you saved her. If you talk to him, he will tell you how bad he feels about Sarah dying and wonder if he can go on, Clem will try to cheer him up, at which point he will say that it's funny that someone like him who is always struggling is still alive when someone like his uncle is gone. If Clem gave him Pete's watch he will tell you that the saddest thing about all this, is that a little girl he met a week ago seems to care more about him than his best friend does as Luke has not bothered to talk to him about any of this stuff, or even ask him how he is. Clem then gets some dialog options to tell nick whether or not she thinks Luke cares about him (or just say nothing ....) ether way nick will want Clem to have the watch saying she reminds him of the way Pete was always looking out for him (making the choice to give him the watch actually mean something!) Clem can take it or not, if she does nick will be happy and help Luke guard the camp, if not nick will stay sad, if you don't talk to nick at all he will also stay sad.
If nick helps guard the camp you will have more warning of the walker hoard (because jane wasn't up for a threesome!) and Kenny will not have to fight any of them, if not you will have an option to tell mike to get nick as he is still sulking in a corner. Ether way nick will come with you. When the deck breaks, nick falls instead. Jane will refuse to help him saying he's a big boy and he can take care of himself! So Clem will be forced to pull jane up. If nick was sad he will have a halfhearted attempt to push off the boards before being eaten by walkers, he doesn't even cry out as he has given up, Luke will then angrily call him an idiot and look upset. If nick was cheered up by Clem, he will manage to get the boards of him, but his ankle is injured so he starts to limp towards the sloping deck with walker close behind. You will notice that same falling board that hits jane if you send her down for Sarah, it will hit nick in the head knocking him down, the walkers will then start to eat him as he screams. Luke will ask Clem if he can borrow her gun, which he will use to put nick out of his misery, while looking like he's about to cry.
This ending makes more sense as it still holds the theme of futility as nether nick or Sarah can be saved in the end. But it also gives nick a death that makes sense for his character, actually means something, and has some impacts on our choices. (We can also keep nick/Pete's watch if we cared about him)
I... have been reading that fanfiction and I even have it bookmarked, but I had no idea it was you, somehow. Good job, it's really great and I love how you've portrayed the characters!
Gasp, you're the one who's writing that story? Kudos to you, because it's extremely well written!
God...freaking...damn...why didn't this happen?
Haha thank you! I'm glad you enjoy it!
Yes, that's me. Gosh, I need to get around to updating it. I've had some major writer's block lately. But thanks, I'm glad you like it!
i would have liked that death but lets have a bad sprained leg not two broken legs that deck wasn't that heavy like 130 pounds jane can lift it a little bit this way clementine can help her walk like a crutch if her legs are broken she can't walk at all
Parts of it are corny and unrealistic but I still like it.
I had and idea kinda like this.
Instead of Nick being dead at the beginning of the episode I thought it would've been better to have him get bit trying to get out the skylight (either saving Sarah if you tried to leave her or just because he's the last one up if you helped her) then have him slowly getting weaker throughout the episode. Now seeing that his death is inevitable and slowly closing in this would give him all the more reason to do something. So that is exactly what he does, he does something, he doesn't sit in the background or fuck something up for the rest of the group or himself, he does shit right for once and goes out like a champ. So I'm thinking his second death should have gone a little something like this:
Since either way in this scenario Sarah lives past the trailer park she's gonna be on the deck. The deck falls and Sarah goes with it. Jane is dangling off the edge and without hesitation Nick jumps down and tries lifting the deck off of Sarah. Then, a choice will appear to either help Jane or tell her to help Nick. This choice doesn't change much besides a small variation in how Nick dies.
-If you help Jane up Nick will eventually get Sarah out from under the deck and lift her so Clem and Luke can pull her up. The walkers close in on Nick, he tries to fight them off but by this time he is very weak and seeing that his friends are safe he gives up and let's the walkers take him. Luke shoots him to make sure he doesn't reanimate.
-If you tell Jane to help Nick she will drop down and help him lift the deck. This will get Sarah out faster giving them more time to get away. After pulling Sarah up Nick will tell Jane to go up next while shooting at approaching walkers. Once she's up Luke will reach down and yell at Nick to grab his hand, he turns and grabs it but once he's about half way up the walkers are only a few feet away from him and then Nick's all like "shit" and Luke's all like "fuck". They form a small cluster underneath him, one of them grabs his leg and pulls him down, Luke grabs his other arm but they've already started chomping at his legs. Nick screams in pain and tells Luke to drop him but Luke refuses and tries pulling him up again. They scream at each other until finally the walkers rip into Nick, tearing him in half. Nick gets that wide eyed open mouthed dead face and Luke just stays there in complete shock for a moment before letting him drop into the heard.
Also it'd be nice if Nick gave you his watch or gave Sarah his hat or maybe even teach her how to shoot if you didn't, yeah that might sound stupid considering he "can't shoot for shit" but i just want some Nick and Sarah bonding moments dammit.
Sorry if some of this doesn't make sense it's like 2 am and about half way through writing this I just kinda started pulling shit outta my ass to make that second choice sound as shitty as possible. (Oh you thought Jane helping Nick would be better? Fuck You.) Plus I'm a shitty writer so there's that. In the end I just wanted Nick and Sarah to matter and to prove Jane wrong.
I really think telltale should have done this, if not at least give him some damn lines. The way they handled himr this episode is really what made this episode a disappointment.
Ok...great way for Nick to die.
It starts in season 3 and Nick ACTUALLY plays a role in the story. I know, it sounds revolutionary but just listen ok? Nick says more than just a line or two. He says like...20 lines. WOW!
Now wait, we all know that Nick was a beloved character right? So maybe, Nick ACTUALLY survives the season. Now, ok, ok, I know what your thinking, "but he was a determinant character. He must die by TTG rules."
You are RIGHT. So....wait for it. Nick dies in a way that MATTERS, so that way, the player gets some sort of pay-off for CHOOSING to keep him alive.
I can tell you how I wouldn't kill him too. Make his character into the equivalent of a brick for season 3, then sweep him under the rug in episode 4. Only sloppy, haphazard writing would do that to a beloved character......oh wait.....
I meant episode 3...HAHA,
