Betrayal
I'm noticing Telltale setting up this whole theme of inevitable betrayal.
During 'All That Remains' the group has a difficult time trusting Clementine.
In 'A House Divided' Carver, says that in the end people will always find a way to cross you and it happens every time. He also mentions trust saying if people can't trust you, how can you trust them.
With 'In Harms Way' Bonnie trusts Clementine mainly out of pity for causing the death of Walter (and potentially Alvin). The player also has the choice of trusting Bonnie.
And with the recent 'Amid The Ruins' we had to put a lot of trust in characters (and Luke broke our trust). Plus we had to choose between trusting Kenny or Luke towards the end.
But it seems that someone or somewhere will betray us (even worse than Luke did). So who do you think will? Imagining everyone survives the shoot-out, who will betray us? How? Will it end our lives? For what reason?

To be honest Luke is a nice guy. Hes watched so many people die around him, and, regardless, never burdened anyone with his feelings. Yes it was stupid, but he deserved a lil lovin'. but yeah i think everyones cool. Maybe Arvo is stuck between two gangs, and was supposed to bring the medicine to that gang with him. Or for his so called 'sick sister'. And he decided he'd blame Clem to save himself. Big mistake pal.
My guess is Kenny. I have the feeling his own feelings are going to start backfiring soon again. If not him the big betrayal would be Christa reappearing and the first episode was her just trying to get rid of Clem.
don't blame Arvo for bad writing.
Kenny wont betray the group since the baby and clem will be in danger.Kenny seems like is losing it but I doubt he would betray us.At episode 1,I didnt see much "love" comming from Christa towards clem.Is it only me who thinks this way?Did Christa really wanted to get rid of Clementine or the writting was bad?!
Kenny might be an ass sometimes but he's loyal. No matter how mad he is at Clem, he'll always be there for her.
And I think Christa was just desperate - similar to the Daryl-Beth situation in the season 4 of the TV show.
Who's to say Clem won't be the betrayer?
I wouldn't quite say Luke betrayed us. But i do agree with you on the whole betrayal "theme" that seems to be going on.
Shit just. Got. Real.
If someone was to betray the group, I feel that Bonnie is the only candidate. She already betrayed twice in this season (first time, she betrayed our group, second time she betrayed Carver). And there's a saying "Once a traitor, always a traitor". I forgave her for betraying us in episode 2, but that doesn't mean I trust her completely.
maybe who we don't back up luke or kenny will betary clementine that will make our choices matter a lot more
We didn't get to see the end of it yet. After you've played EP5 you can call it bad writing if it's never adressed again, not before.
I dunno about you, but Ima be keepin my eye on the baby next episode...
How was christa. Trying to get rid of clem??
I don't think she wanted to get rid of Clementine. Christa just became really bitter after Omid and her baby's death, and she just directed her attitude towards Clem. As for Kenny and Luke, I think Kenny might have a slighter chance of betraying Clem than Luke. In S1, Kenny's actions did left some trust issues (keeping in mind that the only thing I did not supported him on was the Salt Lick situation). Luke, on the other hand, has been looking out for Clem since the season started; he did messed up in ep4, but not as much as Ben did last season (so I still trust this guy).
Jane to Clem: "You can make it on your own. You don't owe them anything"...
That seems like a possible scenario. Jane already suggested that a couple of times to Clem in case she finds herself in a 'fight-or-flight' situation.
Now that's for sure.
Kenny. With that baby seemingly taking Clementine's and Sarita's place as his "will to live" who knows what he'll do.
Erm...idk. If Kenny had to choose between the baby or Clem, I think he'd choose the baby.
I think Christa got bitter enough from the Omid and baby thing that she saw Clem as a liability and ditched her. Simple as that. It seems to be a theme in this game already so why not?
I'm definitely seeing the same theme. Trust. And I wouldn't be surprised if Clem (and also the player) loses trust in everyone she knows by the end of ep 5.
And people talk about writing.... sorry but that's just dumb, and feel free to shit on me if that ACTUALLY happens, but no. Did you play the episode the fucking bandits got christa cuz they are stealing shit. Clem wanted to help her, save her. Maybe i don't get it, But i don't, can't see in where or how christa, did anything, or planned, or decided to get rid of Clem or why she basically got away from her, if she survived that attack.
I think the ultimate betrayal may come from Clementine herself As Jane said before, "Don't let them drag you down with them... you don't owe them anything".
It's nothing something I agree, but maybe Clementine will have a choice, and the choice means the utlimate betrayal.
To be honest with Telltale's recent writings its something I'm expecting. That is why I typed it out. Telltale is being inconsistent already so I wouldn't be surprised if it does happen.
Maybe the whole 'pizza vs ice cream' choice relates here, the side we don't pick is the side we essentially 'betray'
Clem indirectly caused Omid's death,so Christa kinda hates Clem now.But Kenny won't betray the group;Telltale brought him back for a reason. He will appear in Season three.
Don't forget Arvo's blatant lying and still setting you up even if you completely side with him when Jane attacks him, and Jane heavily pushing Clementine not to trust her group and to leave them, then leaving Clementine, AND Luke saying he doesn't think Kenny's trustworthy/capable.
Not much love? Did no one notice how Christa was lying to bandits at gunpoint to protect Clem???
