New Threats?
Okay people, the Walking Dead series has been going on for a while now, and the survivors have faced many different threats. I am only talking about the comics/telltale games/novel continuity here, not stuff from the television series. Some threats include:
- Other groups wanting to kill them/take their stuff
- Cannibals
- Walkers
- Starving
- Being captured
- Fighting in the group(s)
- Snow and freezing (not touched upon enough, and will hopefully be addressed more in the next episode)
- Mental illness (a fair amount of coverage, but so much more can be done)
There are more, of course, but those ones seem to appear the most. So what else can the survivors face in this world that they haven't already? Threats can only be used and rehashed together so many times. What else could they go up against? I would like to see a natural disaster take a role in an episode or a few issues. A flood (which could be hinted at in the most recent issues) or something on the opposite spectrum, like a forest fire. Or what about horrible disease? Sure it was covered in the television show for a few episodes, but so much more can be done with it, and you think it would be a big threat again.
But I am really liking the idea of a forest fire. Perhaps they make it to Wellington and season 3 is set there, then halfway through the season, a large fire encroaches on the settlement. The fire itself would be a huge problem, and that's not even including the walkers that would certainly be attracted by it, possibly bringing a herd right to the area. It could be cool to play as Clementine trying to escape the burning settlement and help rescue her friends while charred and hungry walkers storm the place.
What do you guys think could present a threat to the group in coming episodes?

Hahaha, well, they did kind of do that already in the comics, but it was a joke ending, so I suppose it doesn't count.
Well in the recent Letter Hacks someone asked about surviving on a boat and Kirkman said "We'll be dealing with this very soon." So maybe something on the ocean.
Also we've dealt with war in the apocalypse, rape, and murder within the group.
I think the new threat is oneself, there have been allot of humanitarian choices this Season.
i wonder if comic caul could get separated and go to the game for a season or a episode or two in season 3 i think him and clementine will make an interesting team both are really badass teens in that world
