I think downvotes aren't that bad. They show disapproval without having to type out anything. That can prevent quite a bit of fighting. I know video game forum fighting. I survived Bioware's boards after Mass Effect 3 was released.
So, keep them in, I say. They help keep the peace.
I also think that everyone should have to show who they are if they want to be on the internet. ( i know it won't happen)..y'know so babies won't get on the computer. you know how little kids are, still in diapers , trying to play adult games grabbing your phone like they are adults......

If they take away downvotes, it's just gonna have people throwing stupid comments like "Dumb" and shit in there. Why can't people grow up and deal with it? Some random people on the internet don't like what you said ... Who gives a rat's ass.

They should just do away with all voting and opinions then when it comes to threads. I personally don't care -- but I also don't check the forums every 10 seconds to see if people love me or hate me. It really doesn't matter. I come here to get some news, and once and a while toss an opinion in there.

The difference is that if people insult people in the forums rather than just down voting it's no longer anonymous, and it can be reported to moderators by clicking the flag button on the post.
We do respond to flags, and respect is the first rule of the forum guidelines so insults aren't tolerated. So, if you see someone insulting someone else, or if you're being insulted, please don't insult back, but use the flag function to let a moderator know and we'll deal with it.
Telltale staff is looking into removing the down votes, as the quote from Telltale's PR person puzzlebox states at the first post of this thread, so hopefully the down votes will be removed soon.
