POSITIVE theories!! (Also, Nick's watch)

edited August 2014 in The Walking Dead

Hey all! So people have been talking about being positive lately and sticking together, so I thought we could put that into practice.

Here, I'm asking for are any positive theories you guys may have about what may happen at any time in the future TWDG franchise! I don't think it's helped the mood around here that ep 5 seems like it's going to be incredibly sad, and all I see are very depressing theories about what'll happen. So gimme some happier ones! Or at least more upbeat ones! They could be serious or silly or humorous or detailed or short; I just want to know. I promise no one will down-vote you! ;) We could all use something more than "Clem is going to be alone or die."

Here's one of my own that I was going to put in a separate post, but what the hey (to be fair it's not super happy, but it's certainly not depressing): Let's assume you steal the watch from the cabin, and you didn't give Nick's (or Pete's) watch back to Nick at Matthew's little bridge-house (Update: even though it seems cruel, apparently this is an option if you say, "I'm sorry" to Nick; thanks to @Kennysucks for checking!), then you could possibly give it to Luke later and maybe that'll get him to open up to you about Nick's death or something. I think the watch'll be similar to the water bottle that you could've given to Victor (the guy dying at the river); and if not Victor, then Pete; and if not Pete, then Rebecca (Alvin will take it when Rebecca says she's thirsty in the ski lodge.) Feel free to prove me wrong below. -_- Lol.

I'll just end this post by saying this: Life's lows put into sharper relief the highs we can get. So let's make some highs! :D * insert weed joke here * lol but seriously, I mean it! :)

  • I have no clue what will happen to the watch if you didn't give it to Nick, Im going to assume it will be like the Lee picture and Kenny drawing and it will just make a cameo or something in season three, I probably couldnt do another playthrough without goving it to Nick cause I dont have the heart to lie and keep it :p

  • Lol yeah I was thinking that too. That's why I'm not sure if you can, bc there are no playthroughs I've seen where people don't give Nick the watch if they have it; it's kind of cruel. :/

  • I don't think there are many happy theories because we all know the situation looks grim. The weather's horrible and a firefight's about to start, so there's that.

Yes, that's true. But that doesn't mean there won't be lighter or sweeter parts of the episode; otherwise it'll just be overwhelming. Like after watching the trailer, who expected the raccoon scene in Amid the Ruins? It came out of nowhere but it was so well-received bc it was hilarious and endearing and not grim. I know this is the finale so it's bound to bring the feels, but there's bound to be more than grimness. People are claiming, "The baby's going to die," and sure it's possible, but what about, "The baby will do something adorable"?

But yes like you said, that does explain why there aren't many happy theories.

  • Maybe the Russians are actually a welcoming party from Wellington and to have a bit of fun they like to threaten groups before shooting confetti from their guns and congratulating them on finding their way to Wellington.

  • Please let this be true.

  • Yeah, but the Cabin group (or what's left of it) doesn't realize this and they accidentally kill the Russians. WHOOPS.

  • Yeah you can do it, I said "im sorry" and hes like "its all i had left of him :(" and then he goes to talk to Carlos and Nick, and in my inventory I still have the watch

  • Now that's what I'm talking about! XD I bet Buricko's (the tattooed Russian's) tattoos are really temporary tattoos he let his little daughter put on him, and on the side of his head we can't see there are pink unicorn- and rainbow-tattoos. :3

  • But Wellington could also be forgiving, just like Walter was if you stuck up for Nick!

  • You can steal the watch and give it to Nick in episode 2.

Yup! I think you misread what I wrote, or I just wasn't clear. I said, after stealing the watch, if you didn't give it back to Nick in episode 2, and you keep it, maybe you could give it to Luke later. Will edit to make it clearer!

  • Oh i see, that would of been really cool if they did something like that.

My positive theory is that everyone survives the shootout, Kenny and Luke become friends and we live out the rest of the days at the hardware store eating rice, beans, and chick filla.

  • Aw even though he's out to kill us I'm gonna feel bad if he dies now XD

  • More of a past theory, but I thought that if you gave Nick the watch (and convinced Walter to forgive him) he would have lived a bit longer because the walker bites the watch instead of his wrist.

Yay! I like it. :) Especially the chick filla part, yummy. Heehee I can imagine Kenny and Luke drinking and singing funny pub songs together, can't you?

  • Since Arvo is Harry Potter he will take Clem to Hogwarts and teach her magic and stuff, then we'l have the infamous "Pizza vs Ice Cream" choice. Bring Lee back from the dead or bring Omid back from the dead.

    What do you guys think?

  • Bring Nick back from the dead*

  • That would've been pretty cool. Then he wouldn't have died either way but Walter shooting the walker or not would still have an effect because Nick could ask him 'Why the hell didn't you shoot?' or something.

    Here's my positive theory.

  • It would be nice to see the entire fandoms come together, instead of constantly bickering between each other. Ever have Rasing Canes? Its the only other chicken fast food restaurant that comes even close to Chick Filla.

  • One theory I kinda stole from a previous topic (If anyone knows the topic or person that started the topic please link it)

Someone did an analysis on who would get shot and they stated that the tatoo'd Russian man was the only one willing to shoot since the rest of the Russians started getting scared. While everyone, but Luke in Clem's group was willing to shoot and the only one in the Tatoo'd man's line of fire is Luke. That may seem worrysome, but I feel that Clem may be able to shoot the Tatoo'd man before he kills Luke.

This is only me, but most of the gunshots sounded to be from Clem's group's guns except for the Tatoo'd man's gun.

  • Whoops, forgot to say I meant that he would survive longer into Amid the Ruins. So he wouldn't have died in the chainlink fence, perhaps be killed during the shootout or while dropping the deck.

  • I'd bring back Dumbledore so he can sort this whole zombie apocalypse mess out. But if I had to play by the rules and bring back Lee :)

Hm? * eyebrow raise * That actually sounds similar to something I said a while ago on this thread, the first page near the bottom. But you could also be referring to a different thread I guess. :P

Hopefully you're right and Clem is able to help Luke out! I'm really not sure about the gunshot sounds; they were very tricky to hear. But some people said they heard mostly pistols (which is what Clem's group had mostly), and also no one heard a shotgun sound (which one of the Russians had), and from his dialogue he may've been suggesting he didn't have bullets, so hopefully that's a good sign!

  • I know, but near the end he says to the tattoo'd man "Buriko, Buriko, stop! Lower the weapon! You don't have to do this! Don't shoot! I don't want to die!" it might of been Maud, but I remember Maud talking about giving up too and Arvo doesn't have a gun.
