the game is getting better actually..

  • Yeah, like maybe she gets kidnapped by an unknown group or captured at the end of this season, and it's our job to search for her through the next.

I think the most satisfying option would be two protagonists, Clementine and a completely new adult character.

This way we don't lose track of Clementine and still get to play part of the game with her, but we also got to play as an adult (I'm not fan of being such a young teenager all the time). There are so much things in such a ZA background that are incredibly more interesting to experience as an adult and we miss because we're being Clementine.

For instance, romantic interactions. I'm not desperate for them, but first it can be nice, and second it brings a new dimension of attachement to characters when you're attracted to them like two adults can be. With Clementine we're stuck with the platonic level with characters we like : seeing them as friends or at best as "parents".

Personally, I would be more than fine with only an adult protagonist, but I know a large number of the fanbase wants to keep Clementine as protagonist, so that's why the multiple Playable characters seems the best solution to me.

And the parts you don't play Clementine, your temporarily NPC-Clementine's reactions and personality would depend on how you shaped her through the first seasons and your most recent choices during the playable Clementine parts.

  • Someone "big" is going to die but i highly doubt it will be Clementine (Not yet anyway).

i agree, i think two protagonists would be a cool compromise between not wanting to be a child protagonist and not losing clementine as a protagonist.

although if we did control both characters i think we would choose what they both say in a conversation, not have one as an npc depending on who we are controling at the time.

  • It would be kinda cool if we played as a new group in Season 3, then the new group and Clem's group join at some point in Season 4.

  • I like this idea a lot.

If there's going to be a different set of Charecters without Clementine it should be a TWD spinoff game. This game is Clem's story and until her story ends it should remain that way. Plus the sales of the game would slope down by a huge margin, look at all the fans who didn't play 400 Days and everyone saying #NoClemNoBuy ...

I'm not saying it would be bad to change the protagonist next season, I'd buy it either way. I'm just saying that I'd be much more prepared to give TellTale my money if they continue Clem's story!

do you really think that the people who voted against it, make up all or most of the telltale sales? the game is really good and if they wrote Clem out for a while (instead of killing her off) i'm sure they would d a good job. i didn't like when they killed Lee but i have to admit, they did a damn good job doing it!

I should not have used the word romance.

What I mean is, even without actual courting, playing an adult character you see other adult characters of opposite gender in a different way.

I wouldn't call what was between Lee and Carley "romance" for example, it was at best mild flirting, but there was some very special affection between them. Or at least a huge lot of players including me felt this way. It made the brutal murder of Carley the more devastating to us.

Attraction does not neet actual romance interactions in the gameplay, but it happens when you identify to your protagonist and interact with characters you would find attractive. It builds deeper attachment and connexion, and desire to care for them. More interest in what they have to say, even the futile things, just because consciously or not you are attracted to them through your character (or want your character to be attracted to them). You care more for their specific opinion when having to decide between following different opinions that both make sense.

As an 11 year old character you can't normally develop this specific kind of attachment (normally... Even if a few people around here notoriously developed a crush for Luke through their Clem) towards other characters. I don't say either that the daughter/"parent" or sister/sister (or just friendly) love can't be strong and make you care immensely for another character, just that you have one dimension less, the romantic attraction dimension - it is absent. And it can be very effective. It also creates situations of jealousy, resentment, etc... = more passion.

The Cabin group might have been poorly written and should have benefitted from more character development, but I think one reason why so many players find them so more dull and less interesting than characters from s1 is also, among others but also, because being a child among adults is limiting the intensity of relationships and narrows the possibilities.

  • yeah, for example if we were playing as an adult woman this season, luke sleeping with jane could have been seen as a sort of betrayal, and jane could be seen as a romantic rival, but as clementine it doesn't have that effect, you can sort of react betrayed as clementine after you catch luke and jane, but i was just thinking "what? clementine, you are 11"

  • She hide in the playground throug the blizzard, gives a look at the baby, then close her eyes, still breathing...BLACK SCREEN,TO BE FUCKING CONTINUED. Would be an hell of a cliffhanger, opening all the three possible scenarios : Clem dies, new protagonist;Clem lives, keep with her story;Clem lives, she'll return around the ending of season 3.

  • If she did disappear, I wouldn't mind being Kenny for a while. You have to remember Kenny is a character that switches from nice to dickbat at anytime so no matter what you choose it would make sense for his character.

  • TWDG isn't clementine's story it just became her story after lee died, obviously clementine was a big part of lee's story, but it was about him protecting clementine a lot of the time, not about her, season 1 was Lee's story and season 2 was clementines story, they could easily make season 3 somebody elses story and that would go more with the format than two seasons that is clementines story.

also 400 days is DLC. not everybody buys DLC, i don't usually, but i liked season one so much i wanted more TWDG, and that is what i got, i think i would have preferred any of the 400 days characters to be season 2 protagonist than clementine really

  • Well Mike is kinda new, that's why i thought it would be interesting. just not Kenny! :/

I like Mike, don't get me wrong, but I don't think he's main character material. Kenny could have been, but not anymore. At this point, I think if they're gonna change the PC then it should be someone new. I'd be all for that now.

    TWDG isn't clementine's story

    +1000

This is "The Walking Dead" not "Clementine : the game".

I love Clementine as a character, I really do. But 1) not so much as a protagonist than when she was a NPC, and 2) not to the point of idolizing her so much I can't conceive TWD without her.

I'm definitely interested in her fate, and ideally I'd like very much for next episodes to have a connexion with her story which is already the continuation of Lee's story, but I could very well do with a season 3 where she wouldn't be around until the 4th or 5th episode.

To experience new situations we can't afford with her around, just an example out of mind, starting off as a tough individual physically fit for the "law of the strongest" way of life, being member of a group of predatory raiders who hunt other survivors and kill the weak with no prisoners rule, first episodes would be about how deep we partake in the savagery, if we go all the way and be content with it or really do it against our inner conscience only because we have to pretend or be killed by our owns, and then face more and more reasons to leave the group (betrayals, jealousy, being wrongly accused, being badly injured which puts us in the position of the weak) and around the end, alone and weak, we are saved by Clementine's group of the day, they are kind and nice people at heart, what do.

    Things like that.

In any case I'm done with Clementine as a protagonist and want to play an adult in season 3.

TWDG isn't clementine's story it just became her story after lee died, obviously clementine was a big part of lee's story, but it was about

  • I understand. I think the reason people were sad about Carley's death had something to with the fact she was a good character and you saw a possible relationship growing between her and Lee.
