Had it been Luke

If it was Kenny fighting Luke instead of Jane, would your decision have been different? I feel that Jane and Luke's roles should have been reversed. Jane should have drowned and Luke should have fought Kenny. For me my decision would have been the same. I shot Kenny but I decided not to go with Jane. I might have stayed with Luke, but I don't know.

BTW can anyone swap Janes model with Luke's during the fight? Maybe even sync in some of Luke's lines to go with it? I think that would be interesting to see.

  • I shot Kenny thinking he would bleed out anyway due to his stomach wound Jane gave him. I would shoot Luke, I still trust Kenny though he sometimes goes crazy, he still cares for Clem.

  • I think that was the original intention, but it was extremely out of character for Luke to do something like that.

    I would have shot Kenny, but I don't know if I would have left Luke or not.

  • I would have had a harder time definitely, but I think I would have stuck with my bro Kenny. :3

  • I could see a Kenny VS Luke thing at the end, maybe it would have been calm in the car, and when Kenny gets out, maybe Luke talks to you, and maybe suggests that they should drive through it, and when they crash, maybe Luke thinks the baby is dead or something and when they finally reach the rest stop, Kenny flips shit because the baby isn't there, causing it to lead to the possible choice of shooting Kenny

    Just a thought.

    No, my decision would still be the same. I would let Kenny kill Luke.

  • I wanted to go with Luke in the first place. ;-;

    But I always knew if there was a chance to leave or kill Kenny, it was gonna be the one I picked first time around. He was unstable and I was scared what he'd do to Clem, so the first time, I shot him, no hesitation. And, even though my (relatively) Silent!Clem going with Kenny did give me a good punch to the feelings, I still preferred Jane's ending overall. It was less... movie-esque and more Walking Dead.

    But I wanted Luke. I wanted my first, my "main" Clem to go with Luke. They were besties. ;_;

    I would have shot Kenny if it was Luke and Kenny fighting, I didn't in my game though because I watched someone play through the game and saw what Jane did and I didn't like it so I went with Kenny in mine, his ending was so much better anyway. I would have loved Luke to have been there instead of Jane, to be honest I have been on the fence with her since episode 4, it seemed like her and Clementines relationship was kind of 'forced' in a way (I still love you telltale) and it seemed like Clementine had more of a reaction to Janes death than she did Luke's when Luke has been there since episode 1 and they must have known eachother for say 2 weeks yet Jane and Clementine knew eachother for about 2 or 3 days :/

  • That would work, it would be pretty pro-Luke though, it wouldn't have the same fallout as the Jane choice did, which would lead to most people picking Luke.

    I think that the ending at Howe's would have been much better if it was Luke there instead of Jane though.

    I think the Clementine alone with the baby ending felt the most like Walking Dead atmosphere to me. Like just grim and uncertain with the future of things. I agree Kenny's ending felt more moving and theatrical maybe even predictable slightly, Where Jane's felt more odd and mysterious.

  • But that's the thing, Kenny has sort of lost it.

    It's testing you, really making you think about who is really worth it in the end..

  • Nope, Luke is dumb and frisky.

  • I love Luke, and can I just say it wouldn't have happened.

    1. Luke wouldnt have hid an infant to prove to Clem he's the better person to go with.
    2. If Luke and Kenny SOMEHOW managed to get in a fight, he'd never fight back. Cause it just ain't in him.
  • I killed Kenny in a fit of rage (since I didn't know Jane purposely tried to get me to do it) and I would DEFINITELY kill Kenny for Luke no matter what. Like I had regrets killing Kenny for Jane but Kenny for Luke is a no brainer after everything that happened.

  • RIP LUKE RIP BIRTHDAYBOY

    I just stop thinking about that as a possibility because his death got me in the feels. think of the laughs they'd have had ;_______-;

  • If Luke and Kenny SOMEHOW managed to get in a fight, he'd never fight back. Cause it just ain't in him.

    His leg was also shot and he had a hard time walking too. It would be impossible for Luke to fight back.

  • The problem still is that the player would have known Luke was innocent, not wondering if he was telling the truth, like I was with Jane.

    IMO it wouldn't have been as effective as Jane's, because you found out she tricked Kenny, which created a whole new dynamic. I do wish Luke had lived, but I don't think it would have made sense for it to be Luke vs. Kenny in the scenario we were in. Or at least it wouldn't have had the same impact it did on the player.

    I get what you're saying, but I just don't think it would have had the same impact, or have made sense if it was Kenny vs. Luke

  • If it was Kenny vs. Luke, I would have shot Kenny to save Luke.

    However, Luke would not have done what Jane did. He would not have hid AJ, pretend that he was dead in order to provoke Kenny to violence just to show Clem that Kenny was dangerous. Luke would just out right say to Clem that Kenny was too dangerous to be around. There would have had to be a different reason for the fight to happen.

  • I think Luke would have fought back if Kenny had attacked him first. He did fire at the Russians when they were shooting at them. It's just when people are defenseless or are clearly not a threat at the moment (Carver when he's shot in the legs, Arvo after the shootout) that's when Luke becomes a pacifist.

    So yeah, if he did get into a physical fight with Kenny, he'd fight back, but he wouldn't be actively trying to kill Kenny. It would be kind of like fight on the train between Lee and Kenny back in Season 1.

  • I was actually expecting Luke and Kenny to get into a fight at some point in this episode. It never happened though.

  • Exactly, that'd be his excuse not to jump in!

  • He'd fight back to defend himself. That's all he'd ever do. It would be like the Lee Kenny train fight, Luke would take the punches but never deliver them!

  • it would of been far more heartbreaking if Luke fought Kenny instead of Jane

  • I would have saved luke because he's WAAAAAY more stable than kenny

  • I don't think Luke would of fought Kenny. He is a peaceful guy, and would try to work with him rationally.

  • I don't really see Luke getting into that fight but if somehow it happened I would have been much more compelled to shoot Kenny. Luke hasn't been as suspicious as Jane since episode one when he randomly started to stick up for Clem.

  • If Luke was there it would never have gotten to that point in the first place

  • Exactly.

  • Exactly this. It's why I think they decided a Luke vs. Kenny choice wouldn't work... it just wasn't in Luke's character to full on fight Kenny, especially as viciously as Jane did, or hide the baby, which tbh would be the only thing that would've made Kenny go full force like he did. Plus throughout the whole episode it seemed as if Kenny and Luke made peace with each other, after all Kenny goes nuts on Arvo after Luke dies, Kenny didn't even suggest leaving him behind when he was injured, and was willing to joke with him at the campfire. So deep down I don't think Kenny would've even wanted to fight Luke either.

  • In episode 4, maybe they would have fought. But in episode 5 it seemed like they were finally reaching some common ground.

  • Luke would have never left the baby somewhere alone just to show Clem what a crazy mofo Kenny had become, so it would never have gone down like that. If Kenny ended up trying to kill Luke anyway, i would have shot Kenny, but felt super bad about it. I really like Kenny, but i couldn't have watched him stab Luke.

  • It would have. Luke would have defended Jane against Kenny. He would be innocent and afterward he would learn that Jane had been lying and it's up to Clementine if they forgive Jane or not since Luke will be a complete mess over it as he's in love with Jane.

    The problem still is that the player would have known Luke was innocent, not wondering if he was telling the truth, like I was with Jane.

  • I think everything is fucked up after Luke's death. I mean, if he is still alive, maybe Bonnie and Mike (not sure) not escaped, and Arvo didn't shoot Clem.

  • I just got that ending right now, and it's definitely got the Walking Dead vibe going strong. I think it's tied with Jane's ending for me. Kenny's, again, they still punched me good in the gut, but they're just... so theatrical, yeah. Good word for em.

  • GOD, LUKE, may you have a wonderful birthday with Nick, Pete, Sarah, Carlos, Alvin and Rebecca, and may you find Lee and may you watch over Clem together. ;____;

    Uuugh, I had a dream where the entire cabin group had survived up to that point and uuuuGH I MISS THEM ALL SO MUCH. AND LUKE DIDN'T FALL IN THE ICE cuz Alvin was like, "No way I'm risking that lake." and Pete said, "Yeah, even if it takes a bit more time, the longer way will be the safer way" and then they went around and god bless you Alvin and Pete (and also Sarita who convinced Kenny to go the long way). ;-;

  • I don't think Kenny and Luke would have ever fought like that because I doubt Luke would have gone out of his way to stupidly provoke an unstable person like Jane constantly did.
