"The Walking Dead: Season Two" turned into "The Big Kenny Show"

First of all I want to say, that i'm not a Kenny hater. I loved him in Season 1 and i still love him in Season 2, but I think Telltale gave him to much attention in this Season.

I was so glad when he appeared in Episode 2 and it was great to have an old character back, but i have the feeling his story overshadowed the other characters, especially in Episode 5. It was interesting to see how he changed after the loss of his family and how he got new hope when he met Sarita. But at the end it was just too much. Luke was the only person in Episode 5 who was almost on the same level as Kenny and everyone expected the final "Kenny or Luke" choice, but it didn't come. After his death, it felt like Telltale forced me to like Kenny. There was no character equal to him. In S1 Lee always had the choice to side with Kenny or go against him. With Clem i couldn't talk sense into him, i couldn't stop him from becoming like he became in the end. It didn't have any impact. There was no chance to say "Wake up, Kenny!" and in the end i had to chose between him and Jane. All the endings with Jane are full of suspicion and coldness, while it feels like the Kenny endings a far more emotional. So the only emotional bond left is the one with Kenny, whether i like it or not. It feels like I'm not allowed to have a good time with anyone than Kenny.
It may sound exaggerated, but it feels like "Side with Kenny or don't have an emotional end"

There would be so much more space for all the guys from the cabin group (Nick, Pete, Luke...). I really liked all of them.

(sry if the english is not 100% correct, i'm still learning)

  • It felt like choosing Friendship.

  • I swear there was another thread just like this. but anyways. i wouldn't call it a "Kenny show" if he wasn't in episode one :>

  • The Big Lez Show

  • Haha, Yogscast Hannah said that it wasn't the "Kenny Show" when Kenny asks Clem and Jane were talking about. :P

  • I agree, it was kind of shitty that the only decent character in the cabin crew died in the first episode before Kenny even got to meet him :^)

  • I felt the Jane endings were emotional - just not in the overt, tear-jerking fashion. I felt a sense of guarded optimism with Jane at the end. It felt like the end of a storm where they're picking up the pieces of what was left and the beginning of something new.

  • Yeah, Seems like they worked a lot more on the Kenny endings.
