Who else knew what jane was planning?

When Jane walks in without AJ, I already had my a funny feeling this was a trick to test kenny. Especially when she says she will show clem what he's really like. I could never kill kenny no matter what so this made the choice alot more straight forward for me. Who else knew about this before making their decision.

  • When she says "You are going to see..." I knew..

  • yeah, i suspected it even before Kenny ran out. It seemed too convenient and the way the scene was presented just didnt give me the feeling that they would present the babys death in such a way

  • I thought it was completely obvious. I still shot Kenny.

  • She comes in shivering, unable to utter a word. The moment Kenny leaves she straightens up and says a bunch of questionable things to Clementine. That set off a ton of alarms. Plus her refusal to back down from the fight kind of confused me. Kenny was pissed, so of course he'd be in it to the end; but as far as Clementine knew, Jane was being attacked for an accident. The logical thing would have been to run, right?

  • Bah, stop with these threads, you guys. Everytime I read the comments of similar thread, I discover that everyone knew what Jane was planning and then I feel like an idiot for not realizing it too. :-(

  • Only the comics can kill infants THAT brutally....

  • I had a feeling AJ wasn't dead.

  • Nah, you like to think you saw through her in hingsight, but nobody could have. Most people just had an inkling that something was off about what she was saying. That, combined with my general like for Kenny, led me not to shoot him. Character bias actually helped for once (well, it didn't help Jane)!

  • From the moment she said something like "Trust me, stay out of it."
I wanted a "facepalm" dialogue option for Clem then.

  • "you're going to see what he really is." You'd have to be either distracted by the tension or a chimpanzee to not realise that it was a set-up then.

  • yeah, i actually wanted a "it's a trick kenny" option to calm the fight down

  • I knew it, and i knew i needed to side with Kenny.

  • ...Damn it! How did you know?!?

Anything to break up the fight at any point would be a valid choice for me. I even thought about a choice to tell Kenny something like: "Wait! I can hear him Kenny, come on we gotta AJ!" and lure him away from the fight.

  • I didn't want to sleep anyway....

    Is that really a chimpanzee?

  • i think the only reason they didn't give us the option to tell kenny that jane was being shifty was because it would spoil the surprise for people who didn't figure it out

Probably. If I remember right there was a dialogue option when she returned without AJ, something like "What did you do?!" But honestly, it was so obvious because she was so calm and had a "Don't worry bro, I got this." attitude about her.

  • I suspected something when she comes in crying, then quickly snaps out of it to tell Clem to stay out of it.

As soon as she said: "You're gonna see what he really is" I knew that it was a deceptive set-up just to prove a point that we all could have told her from the get-go. I still shot Kenny though, because he was already spiraling out of control and for him - there was no going back. I thought it would be more merciful to stop him from continuing to torture himself through all of his anguish. Plus, there was no reason to react as violently as he did.

With that said, I still left Jane because she put AJ in danger for such a mundane reason. In a blizzard-like setting full of zombies and a crowd of abandoned cars? You are not going to want to leave a baby unattended for more than five seconds!

  • Yeah, i same here. I was already ready to leave Kenny behind before the rest stop scene, but he forced me to shoot him in the end.

I knew immediately. Even before she crouched down and warned Clementine to not interfere. There was no way that baby would die in such a boring way and it was a logical next step considering Jane's opinion of Kenny.

  • I knew it was a test, but I thought she also just let Aj die.

  • Me too :)
