Season 3 wishlist.

edited September 2014 in The Walking Dead

Now that the whole Jane vs Kenny brush fire has died down what would you like to see or be able to do in season 3.
I'll get the obvious ones out of the way first.

Play as Clem again

Have what ever ending choice you made actually matter and impact the season beyond the first 10 minutes of episode one.

My own personal ones:

Have a wider range of conversation options beyond the various shades of the same response the game usually gives. Be able to voice displeasure, distrust, hatred or even physical violence to any character instead of saying you don't know if so and so can be trusted.

Replace the internal group conflict with an external group vs group conflict maybe with a group that includes who you left alive, Christa or better yet Mike and Bonnie. Howe's vs Wellington maybe?

  • The only thing I wish for is to play Clem again.

  • Not having to do every thing for every one. Let me stay at the camp while the NPC hunt or gets somthing

  • I would want at least one character that means something to clementine (kenny/jane or someone similar to lee) to stick with her and survive the entire season and thereafter. Clem needs another person who was born to survive just like her.

  • More open puzzle areas to talk to people, like:

    Drug store(S1E1)
Motel(S1E2 when feeding everyone, S1E3 when investigating flashlight)
    St. John's Dairy (S1E2)
    Train tracks (S1E3)

I remember there were several questions you could ask people and have actual conversations with. Season 2 episodes compare to S1E5, as if Telltale decided that because that episode worked better by being faster paced, the entirety of season 2 should follow that formula.

    1. Play as Clem.
    2. Jane or Kenny don't die immediately.
    3. bring Christa back.
    1. Play as Clem (If not playable character then just a main character)
    2. Kenny/Jane choice to matter
    3. Knowing at least what happened to Christa
    4. New Forumla (Not like another Cabin Group)
    5. And SALTLICKS NEED TO MAKE A RETURN (...)
    1. Play as Clementine or even better, have her as a Deuteragonist
    2. Related to the first - another strong "Lee" type character to go through life with Clementine - somebody who will stay with her for a long time
    3. Other characters that will be developed and not necessarily knocked off within the season they appear - I want a core group of 3 - 4 people - i.e. if one of these people dies it will affect you big time.
    4. Increase the length of the episodes back to what they were in season 1 (approx 2.5 hrs each). Do this by bringing back the explorable zones and puzzles.
    5. Have a set goal for the season or even multiple seasons > i.e. we want to get to X because X. For example, a large navy ship is leaving for Hawaii off the cost of California where it is reported that the walker threat has been contained.
    1. Play as Clem.
    2. Wider conversation options like you said.
    3. Christa's fate resolved.
    4. Molly.
    5. Kevin Spacey voicing a villain.
    6. Kenny lasting into the season.
    7. Nick Breckon.
    8. Choices mattering.
    9. 400 Days characters.
    10. A final battle with Mike and Arvo.
    11. Maybe Tavia as a villain?
    1. Nate shows up
    2. Kenny lives
    3. Bonnie dies
    4. Mike dies
    5. Arvo dies slowly
    6. Molly and Jane make out with each other and then both die
    1. Play as Clem.
    2. Give Kenny/Jane the Udrnot Wrex treatment from Mass Effect instead of just killing them off.
    3. That's all :D
  • you really are one sick fuck

    1. Play as Clementine
    2. Have people that survive more then one season @_@
    3. Dont dump character arcs halfway through (stares intently at Nicks storyline)
  • But don't lick them. They're gross

  • To play as a character who's like Daryl Dixon.
In the sense that he's a superb hunter, and an expert at surviving.
And that he's alone when we meet him.

Just for simplicity, I'll call the character: Joe.

As Joe, you end up running across a group, that includes Clementine,( with her personality being however the player had her act in season 2.)
And the main idea is to to try to work at getting the group to except you, as people in TWD are generally wary of strangers, and with good reason.
Throughout the Season, you'll be put into questionable situations, perhaps cause of walkers or scavengers, or because someone in the group wants you to do something, perhaps in secret.
And of course, there's always that determinate character you to either choose to save or not.

At the end of the Season, your standing within the group is greatly affected by your decisions, like they were the past two seasons.
Some might like you, while others can't stand you, depending on your attitude, and/or if you refused to help them.
Either way, the leader will offer you to join the group, and the decision to either accept the invitation; or continue on alone.
Which choice you make will have a bearing on what happens to Joe in Season 4.

  • I wonder if the graphics of TWD Season 3 will be similar to Season 2.. Will it look Next gen like or the same?

  • Longer dialogues, optional conversations. It was so nice in Season 1 where you had optional conversations even with CHOICES how to continue them, there were so many ways to talk to characters and it was very well handled. Here you can just click on Nick, say: "How can I help?" and he replies to you "I got it." That's like, there even doesn't have to be such option.

Dialogues were mostly good, except in episode 4 for me, but the amount of them was too freaking low.

The graphics were pretty cool, except multiple bugs, that I have no idea why they were not fixed yet (perfect example - Clem holding air instead of a rifle in episode 2)

  • I agree with many arguments you guys have but I'm really afraid how TTG can handle them. Bringing Clem back into the game is a must because the whole story relates to her. My problem is that I don't like it if there are so many new characters. Before we know characters good enough they die. I really liked it when Kenny came back because we knew him from S1 and it wasn't a "new start" with a new foreign character. I think for example Luke would be the best person who should have lived. I'm so excited of how TTG will do S3 after two great seasons. Just give us Clem back!!! :D

  • I don't care about the story as long as it will be a good one.

    • more exploration scenes (Season 2 consists 95% conversations and 5% other interactions)
    • not more details in graphics please! Even more details and effects destroy the comic look! In my opinion it has already been overdone in Season 2. Too many tones and Too many smooth gradients. That kills the "hand painted" effect!
    • Adjustable response time for choices. Not all players speak English as their native language! I need some time to read and translate. This time is lost to make a decision
  • -nick breckon
    -a more variety of options
-have at least one or two character make it to the end of then season
    -play as clem
-have different beginnings based on our choices, but eventually we all get the same story
    -luke rises from the dead
    -ben rises from the dead

  • Play as Clem and see again Keny.

  • 1.Play as a adult.
    2.To see Christa.

  • Determinant charcater living, I dont care if they just stand in he background just that they live

  • I'll have some Kenny with a side of Kenny please.

  • Uh no, nate doesn't die either.

everyone except Kenny dies, cough cough extremist

  • so what, Nate is an interesting character, but he hasn't even been mentioned in the main story

  • yes make the exception of the determent rule. if you went with either it should longer for them to live. or maybe not die at all. but if you killed them well idk maybe another character that is something to clem, and lives through all season. maybe a group not dying completely. also maybe the first the middle and the last episode to be the ones that are longer..

  • Nick Breclon. great writer, dude should be the lead writer. hopefully he doesn't leave or the decide to change writer.

  • My number one priority would be to have Clem as the protagonist and then have Kenny (or Jane whoever was chosen) to have an impact in season 3.

  • Play as Clementine again (OF COURSE) and Kenny doesn't die within the first 30 minutes of episode 1...

Here's what I'd like to see in Season 3:

    • Christa's return. I'd like to see more depths in the surrogate mother and daughter relationship between her and Clementine.
    • More consistent characterisations and improved character development. No more walking plot devices (I'm looking at you, Sarita).
    • Less cheap deaths for cheap drama or shock value.
    • If Kenny has to return in Season 3, tone down his screen-time to allow for others to shine.
    • If Clementine is the playable character, make everyone less dependent on her while still giving her something reasonable to do.
    • Bring back HUBs. Season 2 didn't quite live up to Season 1 because of this, at least from my opinion.
  • Oh man i thought you'd fall for that

    :P

    1. I want Christa's fate to be CONFIRMED DAMN IT!
    2. I want choices from past seasons to mean a lot more than what it did.
    3. Same writer for the whole season. I heard they were flipping around writers through season 2. Bad idea. Nick did a pretty good job, considering he had the best episodes of the season.
    4. What happened to the 400 days people? Their fates remain unknown. Make them more meaningful as well.

    • Everyone's gonna disagree with me here, but I'd like to play as someone else in S3. That doesn't necessary mean kill of Clem or end her story. Fuck, no. What I mean is playing as someone else, yet Clem will appear and be damn important through the season. Who should we play as, then? I don't know. I've been thinking on Christa, Lilly (even Molly but that's unlikely) or even Nate (he was the most amusing character in 400 days, even if he's a little crazy, but that would be even more interesting). BUT, as we all know how their character is, a lot of people would make them act OOC. So maybe someone new? I don't know. If it has to be someone we already know, I want it to be Christa. Don't misunderstand me, I LOVE Clementine, but playing as her again..? I don't know. It could be, but.. I like to try new things. But Clem's story is NOT over, that's for sure.
    • I also want to see the 400 days characters again (that includes Eddie and Nate as well, maybe even Tavia..?). They can't be left unkown
    • If we don't play as Christa, I want to see what happened to her. Hopefully she's alive
