Has the game changed your views on things?

I know it definitely has for me, It makes you realize how fucked up even the real world is and the extreme things people will do to survive.
For example originally for me it was a big no-no on killing the St. John brothers, because I wasn't ready for Lee to give up his humanity. but when I play that episode now- I'm completely down for killing them as I feel they deserve it.

If it was maybe Season One Episode One when Kenny started beating up Arvo I would have stopped him, but after going through two full seasons I didn't tell Kenny to stop beating up Arvo.

Call me some asshole survivalist, but I think the game has made me realized something, along with the show. An example from the show is the quote ''You kill or you die, or You die and you kill.'' Now that quote is from the Governer, who is a villain character and all but that quote has a lot of meaning to it.

So all I wanna know is, anybody else feel the same way?

  • I feel like it has made me see things in a different light but I still hold my morals as I did when I first started.

  • Which is completely fine, there is no right or wrong decision.

  • The game changed my view towards many people, I've found out that people make mistakes but that doesn't make them bad people (Lee) which is why we should give everyone a second chance (Just like I gave Arvo a second chance).

  • Yeah when S1 and S2 come out on PS4 I plan to record me playing each episode and at the end explain my morals to each choice.

  • Yes. Walkie Talkies = Death

  • I've come to realize living people are truly worse than any dead person/walker.

    Living people = death

Walkers or dead people = dumb dead people who like to play all or nothing death tag

  • Season 1 changed me a lot. It made me think independently and don't expect everyone to do stuff for you

  • "All or nothing death tag"...Im going to convince my friends to play that with me :P

  • I learned to never go behind a loose piece of cardboard.

  • I think i may actually do that too, man i love that recording feature on the PS4.

  • It made me think more about people and why they do things sometimes.

"I just think that good people do bad things sometimes."

  • Maybe just really few, mostly it just strenghtened my original views.

    .

  • I always knew people would do anything to survive, humans have showed that all throughout history and it's in our nature.

That is not being an "asshole survivalist", who said or would think that? You just do what you have to do, that's definitely not being an "asshole".

And things that villains say in movies, tv shows, video games, etc are usually much more meaningful and true than what heroes say.

Look at some of the things the Joker said in The Dark Knight.

  • So crazy people can murder 2 people before they go to jail?

  • Well, it seems a lot of people in the game like to make nice guy choices instead of survival choices, that's why I said that. An example is killing Larry, the survivalist choice would be to kill him so he wouldn't come back as a walker, and we wouldn't know if trying to save him would work- but most people tried to save him anyway.

  • Really? I have to look into those "nice guy" choices. But I thought most people just killed Larry lol.

  • Yeah ive recorded some videos but cancelled both series because I deleted the rest of the footage, I think my first and other series will be only Telltale games.

  • I just wish there were more survivalist choices like leaving the baby behind. But its Clem after all and i doubt she is mature enough to make such decisions.

  • Nope, I killed Larry but..

    Helped kill Larry - 32%

Tried to revive Larry - 68%

    yes ! ^^

  • That was probably just because then Kenny wouldn't have reason to be mad at Jane and telltale is too lazy to make actual branching storylines.

  • Telltale Game's in general made me view the world differently because I now realize how many consequences some of my actions may have.

  • Jail is basically a second chance for the people who've made mistakes, so no.

  • I've learned that literally everyone you meet will turn out to be an asshole even if you care for them.

  • Not really. But I tell you what's weird, after playing so many games over the years involving zombies and surival, I reckon i'd survive a Zombie Apocolypse.

    1. Don't judge people too soon. Too many examples for that... Carley, Chuck, Christa (She seems to care about nothing but Omid and get cold blood to me at the beginning), Vernon, Nick, and even Luke (his attitude seen by me towards Nick's death make me angry, but in E5 I find that he's just keeping the bad mood to himself).
    2. Being honest is better than lie, even though you think it a white one. In my 1st playthrough of S1 my Lee sometimes lies to Clem to keep her from some bad things. But it's actually not protecting her, let alone she's always sensitive to the truth.
  • Real life taught me things which I used in the game.
And my opinion is that zombie apocalypse or "normal" life are exactly the same. Kinda same shit with different design.
