For me, too diverse to say much; I love rock, metal, industrial, alt rock, techno, and especially dance music... Since people are giving three here are mine:

    Koyote: Paran

    Kim Hyun Jung: Mung

And a little more English friendly; Idiot Flesh: The Straw (T.S. Eliot's 'The Hollow Men' put to music)

  • Cool - I'm guessing this was when you were in high school then? Nightwish's earlier stuff and definately System of a Down were when I was in middle school/freshman in high school and I'm 25. Then there was Cold, Evanescence, Linkin Park (back before Emo came to the fore) haha, oh reminiscing...

Well, more like middle school. I just got into them really late. Kinda sucks, I wish I could've gone to a System concert back then when they were in their prime.

I know how you feel; I'm from New England, and most bands to New York and then turn back... Still got to see a concert with Linkin Park, Korn and Snoop Dogg (which one of these is not like the others?) That was pricy, but the good thing about liking indie bands is you can get cheap concerts. I got to see Angelspit for $30 when I was living in LA and 3rd Line Butterfly (Korean band) for $10. Plus, with small concerts like that you get to meet the people. Sorry, I'm going into memoires now; but if you like System of a Down and Nightwish, Angelspit might be worth checking out. I mentioned Cold (esp No One) and Evanesence above (song below) - definately a must listen to.

  • My problem is that none of my friends are into the same type of music. The only actual concert I went to was this summer when Rookiez is Punk'd performed at AnimeNEXT.

Evanescence is alright, but I wouldn't call myself a fan. Same with Linkin Park. I've been into Korn for a while though. Lordi is one of my more recent discoveries.

  • I like most types of music, but Hip-Hop is my favorite. I'm a nineties guy who grew up on the East Coast, so my choices will probably reflect that.

1.) Wu-Tang Clan: I'm a massive Wu stan. No other band in any genre brings as much intensity, charisma and insanity to the table. It always sounds like they're having an absolute blast when they rap, whether it's about Kung-Fu movies, their 5% Ideology or growing up on the mean streets of Shaolin (Staten Island). The slang takes a little getting used to, but 'figuring out' the lyrics is half the fun anyway. Even people who hate rap, owe it to themselves to check out the Clan and their respective solo albums.

2.) Nas: He's a fucking legend, no other way to put it. His debut album Illmatic, is often cited as the best hip-hop album of all time. Nothing I can say will convince you as much as listening to him for yourself.

3.) OutKast: It's a damn shame these guys broke up back in 06. They put southern hip-hop on the map and consistently released reinvented themselves with fresh, new styles.

  • Yeah, I had the same thing; the two concerts I mentioned, I went alone. Still it's a good time if you really like the music. I listened to a bit of Lordi, some wouldn't load in Korea, but the ones that did weren't my cup of tea; thank you for the recommendation though.
