This may sound a little off-topic, but this is a direct response to the fate of missing characters that you question.
To be clear, during a interview with the devs, they stated that it'd be at an unrealistic level to rejoice with lost characters. When their fate is unknown, they will stay unknown, or they might come back which is a very tiny percentage chance that they do. This is the kind of fun tricks that Telltale does.
Kenny's dead? He won't be coming back, I'm pretty sure. What do you know. He's back.
Molly is gone? She'll be back in episode 5. Never did.
Christa's gone? She'll definitely make a surprise return. Nope.
There's was that one expectation that Jane wouldn't come back, but Telltale kinda ruined that considering we all believed she would come back.
But it's same to assume that the characters we meet that just left are simply gone forever. It's at a realistic level and it's just the way it works in the real world. So the survivors you meet, leave a good impression on them, because they may help you out and be gone before you know it, but at least they know who you were and I'm sure [they'll remember that].

For real though, it was that Clem… more had to watch an entire group self destruct over 2 weeks and HOW THE HECK is she not broken goods yet? If I had to go through that at my age, I'd have lost my shit like Kenny, doubt myself like Luke a long time ago, or become broken like Jane.

Nick and Sarah! Their deaths were so badly done it burns me. Also my Clem promised to look after them and now she will be traumatized by her failure for years and years.
It wasn't realistic, but somehow he just made an appearance. And while it was supposed to be unlikely he would ever return, I'm just glad that I got to meet him again.
The one thing I truly cannot get over are the people who used to own places like the market Lee's parents used to own, or the owner of Howe's Hardware. Or places owned by those who are dead or forced to abandon it. I always imagined the owner of Howe's, how he/she used to run a once lively store of customers, supplying them with their needs and just living at a time where everything was once normal. How I always imagined that one day, the owner would return, alive, and cherish the moment that the store was around a time where you would have to wake up early in the morning, drive there, handle business and stress over normal work things. Not having to deal with surviving in a change world of the walking dead, or losing your child to your dead wife/husband, or having to carry a gun with you to bed every night in fear that you could be devoured at any moment.
A place where someone would return to a once called home. Fivel's Family hoping to one day rejoice in their beloved home. Instead, they're all split apart, having to survive alone. I can only imagine how much grief Fivel went through when he had to live in the attic alone, day and night, hoping that one day his parents would return to their son. The places Clementine or Lee have sheltered or visited in once belonged to another owner, and that owner maybe either lost, alone, or dead. This hits me the hardest because this happens everyday in our world. People who are lost and alone, who just want to see their loved ones once again even for a few seconds, together in their homes.
This is one thing I can't get over in TWD. And it really sends an emotional impact the more you think about it.

Exactly what I've been thinking. Now I don't want Clem to become crazy but it's not normal that after all she's been through there have been no hints of the impact it had on her. I think it would have been interesting for her character development to see her struggle more with these issues.
I know she can tell Kenny that she had to shoot Lee or that her parents are dead, but we never really get to see what all these things really did to her. Or maybe Telltale are planning to explore that in future seasons if they keep including Clem in the story. There were a lot of hints of that in season 1 :
-Episode 2 in the meat locker Lee says: "I just wish Clem didn't have to witness shit like this.I worry what it's gonna do to her."
-Episode 3 Lee can say to Katjaa: "Has Clementine said anything to you about Carley/Doug or Duck or anything ? I'm worried about her."
To which she says: "No.That little girl is a puzzle."

Yep i liked sarah she could of used abit more expansion but uh too late now sadly and luke and nick but i kinda think the way episode 5 played out was great but those characters did have potential im agreeing with ya there but the way the episode played out the finale was great so overall season 3 is gonna be a blast from the past
something besides Lee's death because thats a big/obvious
Lee....
How TWD is treating Kenny. They made him crazy to the point where people consider him beyond help.
Naaaa TT Went overboard with kenny in S2, ithink they wanted to test our relationship with him (if you had one with him)..... they took it a bit far imo.. once again it felt a little "forced" to say the least....
The thing i cant get over in the walking dead is the unbearable wait between seasons since im excited for each new coming season in the game since it only gets better
The fact that you get to kill Kenny. I did kill my Lee, but I was not as attched to Clem back then and being able to turn myself to a murderer... Gee... But I let him live. Sorry Kenny haters.

The minimal character development in Season 2.
Ben's death.
Nice profile pic, Nick-117
I'll never get over this.
You mean stuff and thangs....
Christa's unknown status
No use of the 400 Days characters besides Bonnie
Carver being killed off early
Nick's death
Sarah's death
Luke's death
Mike and Bonnie's betrayal
Unable to kill Arvo
Kenny's determinant status
Kenny and Luke not being the Pizza vs Ice Cream choice
Fuck Becca
The death scenes for Nick and Sarita in Episode 204 could've been far more fleshed out in my opinion.
I don't see how Kenny's return is realistic with the Ben scenario.
But you just read my comment...XD
In direct response to Bvenged, above (this comment dropped into an unexpected spot in the order:)
Kids are resilient and Clem's an exceptional kid.
Then again, isn't she doing both, at least a little? She's not the same Clementine we once coaxed down from a treehouse.
Duck.
Nick and Sarah! Their deaths were so badly done it burns me. Also my Clem promised to look after them and now she will be traumatized by her failure for years and years.
Luke's death
No Eddie
The road to season 3 is as straight as my dick.
It wasn't realistic, but somehow he just made an appearance. And while it was supposed to be unlikely he would ever return, I'm just glad that I got to meet him again.
thaaaaangs.
double post
luke's death

Carver's wasted potential.
She did it because the writers haven't given her PTSD yet. I don't know how she couldn't have it.
Lee....

They did that in S1Ep2....
At any rate, I still cant get over the fact that Lee hits that wall with that coat rack instead of Kenny's head
For casdow to lighten the situation on christas fate unknown
How alcohol and cigarettes somehow keep popping up after a few years in the zombie apocalypse and can still be scavenged and consumable.
Yeah i get what you mean you figure thats what groups would be looting alot
Nice eddie catch phrase from 400 days wyatt episode
I love that wyatt has a choice i think back in 400 days to say will you stop talking about your dick its funny
Luke's death.
Before i start the episode 5: I hope Clem and Luke don't gonna die. And Luke was the first...
It's been said lots of times already but definitely Luke's death. Man that still hurts
Luke's death... That was completely out of nowhere.
