Unanswered questions... (Spoilers obviously)

edited August 2014 in The Wolf Among Us

After playing the game a few times I still have some questions that have remained unanswered. I do have theories about some of them though. So here are some things I’m not certain about and I’d appreciate you guys’ help! :) Sorry if there are too many questions here.

1 Bigby told Faith: “I feel like we’ve met before.” What’s that supposed to mean?

2 What exactly happened in room 207? If Georgie killed Lily, he could have easily done that at his club and not The Open Arms. Plus, it seems as if Lily was lying in bed when she was killed and had those flowers in her hands. It makes no sense for Georgie to kill her in room 207.

3 Why did Bluebeard burn Crane’s stuff? I’m pretty sure he wanted to catch Crane as well since they thought Crane was the murderer at that time.

4 Faith, Lily, AND Nerissa had a plan to escape the Pudding ‘N Pie so how come the Crooked Man only order Faith and Lily dead and not Nerissa?

5 Why did the Crooked Man decide to kidnap Crane? What did he get out of that? He doesn’t care much about his goons when they are no use to him anymore (like he sold Georgie out).

6 Faith’s letter to Lawrence (I’m sorry) what exactly was she sorry for? (leaving him?) IF it was for leaving him: Since Lawrence obviously loves her and she cares about him too (she came by to make sure he was okay and leave him money) why did they get separated at all?

7 What did Nerissa mean when she told Bigby “I hope you’re looking after your friends…” in Ep4? Were Bigby’s “friends” (Snow and Colin) in danger?

8 “They used to call me The Little Mermaid. Does that help?” She used to be a mermaid; I get that. But how would that ‘help’ Bigby?

9 Why does Bigby have a picture of Little Red Riding Hood on his wall???

10 The Crooked Man was aware of almost everything that happened in Fabletown and his door moved. He obviously knew Bigby was coming after him (at the end of Ep.4) then how come he didn’t move his door before Bigby came and how come he went to Shepard Metalworks in the end (a place Georgie knew about) rather than hide somewhere no one could think of?

11This last one is for those who have read the COMICS. Why doesn’t Snow stab her kids with the same knife she stabbed Bigby so that their kids could look human as well?

Once again sorry for so many questions and thank you for your answers! :)

  • I know this sounds dumb but to you think you could put your questions in order like this..

    1.

    2.

    3.

And so on, it would be easier to read.

  • I know what you mean, I tried putting it that way in the first place but it didn't work. Even now it still isnb't correct, there were actually ELEVEN questions I'll try to fix it. :(

  • Ahh that's fine it's good enough. I can read it now :)

    1. It could be that Bigby met Faith a very long time ago in Fabletown, or it could mean that he encountered her in the Homelands probably when the Adversary was taking over their world, and she could've been a prisoner and he freed her, like he did with Snow and Rose.

    2. The Pudding and Pie was a public place whereas room 207 was Crane's 'personal' room; it would've made more sense to kill her there because only Crane could get into that room; I'm sure Georgie had access to all the rooms of the Open Arms since that's where the girls take their clients if they want an appointment and be discreet as it is in the motto. Plus I think that the Crooked Man and Georgie was trying to keep the murders from getting to the Business Office but it got out when Nerissa placed Faith's head and allegedly Lily's at the Woodlands.

    3. Bluebeard really didn't care that Crane was the murderer, he was pissed at Crane because he embezzled his money on prostitutes and burning Crane's stuff was just one cruel way of getting back at him. If Bluebeard caught Crane, he would've tortured him like with Dee/Woody but much worse.

    4. That's the question that also bugged me, but here's my theory: Faith was killed because she had leverage against the Crooked Man but Nerissa was spared because she told Georgie. The reason behind why Lily had to die is unclear to me, but I think she was trying to get out like Faith did and was killed probably around the same night that Faith was.

    5. I think Telltale tried to tie that in the comics where when after Crane was fired, he fled to Paris and became a spy for the Adversary, the Fables sworn enemy. I think the Crooked Man thought Crane may reveal everything about his operations but was still useful to him, so he sent him away until the heat dies down.

    6. I think Faith left Lawrence to protect him, she knew that she was involved in a dangerous business and she didn't want him to be caught up in that.

    7. I think Nerissa was trying to tell him about her friends, Faith and Lily, but she couldn't because of the ribbon so she was giving him another cryptic clue, like with the Open Arms lead.

    8. I think it's an allusion to Nerissa's story.

    9. In the comics, there was a similar picture on the wall but I think it looked more like Red's grandma. I don't think it was ever explained, but I think Red's picture served as a reminder of his past.

    10. I think that The Crooked Man knew that the government had the Magic Mirror, it was the only thing that could track him, and he knew that it was only a matter of time before Bigby would show up, hence why he was expecting him. He probably figured that Bigby would kill Gerogie (assuming his nature) before he could find out his hideout, which was probably the only safe-place he could go to, plus he had Bloody Mary as a bodyguard so he wasn't truly worried until Bigby came up to his office after defeating her.

    11. I haven't read the comics, but I've read the Fables Wikipedia. I think she didn't have the knife anymore, plus the cubs had inherited their fathers lycanthropy powers but they were too young to know how to change forms.

    Hope this helps.

for 9 it probably "helps" him know her, since he says he felt like they met before, she was probably just trying to jog his memory.

For 11 the kids can shape-shift, the point you're probably at is when they're too young and don't know how to do it.

Sorry I forgot to thank you for taking your time and answering all my questions:)

You know, I think it's a good thing there are so many questions left to be answered. The telltale writers are too smart to leave so many things unexplained. They probably did it on purpose so they could make all these clear in the next season. :)

  • You're welcome, I'm glad I could help. :)

I hope you're right in them making a second season, I like TWD but TWAU was an excellent game that needs a second season.

  • For 1 they most likely met in the Homelands considering one of Faith's lines and the Fabletown's General Amnesty. It would raise the question of Lawrence, which can easily be explained by him remaining in the Homelands to fight and ending up having money troubles with Bluebeard.
