He's not physically or mentally strong, being an avid video game freak and dumb as a bag of hammers. I he's not at all manly. Its probably just because I'm country and he's city. I try to not hold it against him but when he asks me if I want to play video Gamez ever twenty minutes I get a little angry.
I liked The Hunger Games, it's a shame the movies are shit (imo)..
Never heard of The Dark Tower, I oughtta read it, I'm currently reading another book of his.

You really should. Reading The Dark Tower for the first time is like reading The L… moreord Of The Rings for the first time.
Yes, its just that good.
I'm currently reading another book of his.
What book?
I absolutely LOVE Howard Lovecraft. Right now I'm reading the last story from the last volume of his fiction. It means that soon I can feel proud of reading everything he wrote!
I also like dystopias. "451 Fahnrenheit", "We" and "1984" are great, but my favorite one is "A Brave New World". It just hit me harder than all the other books I read.

I'm sorry to hear that.
A mind is a terrible thing to waste.
And that damn thing is what is responsible for it.
Do you think that there is someway you or your dad can take that damn thing away from him?
After all, it would be for his good.
With all due respect, if your Step-Dad realizes your brother has a problem, but does nothing to help him overcome it, then he's failing your brother as a Dad.
When a child is in trouble, then the father, or in this case; the Stepfather, will step up and will everything necessary to help his child.
That's what being a good Father involves.
I'm sorry, I'm honest-to-God not trying to offend you, I'm just saying it the way it is.
Have you tried talking to him about it?
Have you told him your concerns about your brother, and what his gaming addiction is doing to him?
Have you also broached the subject with your Mom as well?
Its not all my step dads fault, at least he trys to help him. Its my step brother's moms fault I've never met her, but from what I've heard he's spoiled rotten. I've never been spoiled in the least, I've worked my entire life through and I'm only 14. I know what work is, he doesn't.

I must say you have a very mature attitude for only 14 yrs old.
About your comment, about knowing what hard work is, you'll find out even more what that's about as you get older.
When you're over 21, and getting up at 3am to go to a poor paying job in order to support yourself, and have to come home and clean your house so it's livable, and then have to cook dinner for yourself, hard work will take on a whole new meaning.
My point is, enjoy your childhood while you have it.
And don't waste it.
While you have plenty of free time, pursue your education.
And also, take the time to learn a trade.
It's one thing to know how to work hard, it's another thing to be skilled at a trade.
Construction is still a good paying job.
As is plumbing.
Electrical work.
Heavy equipment operating, like Crain operating and alike.
And etc.

Don't worry, you didn't offend me. But you do have a point, my 'hard work' is nothing compared to some of the other things I've seen people do. And I am currently wanting to pursue a career in law enforcement or aerospace engineering. I got my attitude of 'very mature' and a 'put up with no nonsense' attitude from my grandpa. Its kinda funny because my dad is the same way, and you know what happens when you get to stubborn heads in the same room for to long. I just wish I wasn't this way sometimes. My attitude leaves little room for anything other than my work, witch can be a good thing. But I also seem to never tell people how I feel, I think this is because I feel like people already got to much of their own problems to deal with, and no one really care what I have to say in the first place. Its kinda stupid sometimes.

Well kid, you're opinion and feelings do matter, and they are important.
Don't feel like you're not important enough to be heard.
Everyone needs to be heard.
Feel free express yourself.
Just make to do so in a tactful and respectful manner.
Perhaps consider talking to your dad, or grandpa, about your feelings in private, if don't feel comfortable doing so publicly.
In fact sometimes, certain things to need to be discussed in private.
And when alone, discuss whatever is on your mind.
Even though I've never met you, or your folks, my instincts tell me that they love you, and they want to know what's on your mind and heart.
But they can't know, unless you tell them!
So talk with them.
Take advantage of their wisdom and experience in life.

I've read The Walking Dead comics, I've also read Percy Jackson, Harry Potter, and the Hunger Games. I liked them fair enough. I enjoy science fiction a lot, especially some of Micheal Chriton's work, like Timeline and Jurrasic Park. I also enjoy all history, especially human history, so I read my entire history book from this school year.
I say, start with "Thus Spoke Zarathustra," then move on to Camus's "The Myth of Sisyphus." Those would probably be the big ones for me. I also really liked Chuangzi and Xunzi. Kierkegaard's "The Sickness unto Death" and Marcus Aurelius's "Mediations."
Be careful though - there's psychology and there's pop psychology. I don't know any good books in English, but if possible used textbooks are the way to go.

I'm a pretty avid reader of YA fiction, though I'll cross into Middle Grade or Adult every once in awhile.

That's one of the few school-assigned books I enjoyed reading.
The best laid schemes of mice and men often go awry...
I'm reading the Song of Fire and Ice series atm to get ready for GoT... have to say its the best fantasy story I have read since Harry Potter.
Have you guys read the Witcher series? I don't know if it's translated into English.
I read non fiction, science books and athiesm books mainly. Just so damn interesting, and hell it feels nice being right haha.
