The game is pretty fun so far. The unlockables are really easy to earn, so I've mostly just been grinding to get the easy stuff out of the way.
I think I only have one unlockable character left.
Been playing the game for the past 6 hours. Unlocked 9 characters already.
Loving it thus far, of all the newcomers I think Robin might be my favourite.
They're going to be practically different games though, there's modes from the 3DS version that are not in the Wii U one at all. As well as the fact the maps are completely different.

Outside of Smash Run, I can clean house as him. Smash Run is another story though, as no matter how many jump upgrades I get, his air game still sucks which makes me doomed whenever there is an event match instead of a fight.

Luigi, Marth, Toon Link, and Lucario are all starters, but one of the most iconic newcomers from Brawl (available as a starting character then) is now unlockable. The only change that made sense to me was having the third party guest characters being starters instead of unlocks.

For me, I'm definitely going to go Falco (when I actually get the game :P) Since I've pretty much mained him since Melee.

Yeah I found that weird as well, also how they made it with so many starting characters but like maybe 20 unlockables.
I only need to unlock Jigglypuff now. But I agree, was a rather strange way of doing things.
