I feel like this is so broad. There are so many different styles of music out there and they all have great artists. Do you mean most influential artists or the most artistic artists? Because for example, Blink-182 is considered very influential yet they are also considered the most crappy in terms of technique and complexity.

    Anyway, some of my favorites:

    • Green Day/Blink-182 (old stuff)
    • Metallica
    • The Black Keys
    • Eminem
    • Linkin Park (the old stuff)

Honorable Mention: Gorillaz, Fleetwood Mac, Lindsey Stirling, The Killers, Sublime, Weezer (don't judge meh!)

  • I'm just going for your personal favorites, but you did good with Metallica, you can never go wrong with them.

  • Yeah, the guy from Blur secretly was in the Gorillaz, not showing who he was for a while, one reason for the cartoon music videos.

He is one of the most talented musician that mainstream doesn't know about.

He wrote songs like Heron Blue, which was featured in one of the Gears of Wars Game. One of my personal favorites right now is his spoken word song "Richard Ramerez."
