Your first CD

This might not mean much for the youngins in the forums, but what was the first CD you ever bought? I remember being super excited to buy my first cd (before then everything I listened to was on cassette), and it stays with me as something super exciting. Here's the hit of the band I bought - if you don't like it, well, my excuse is I was 11 at the time so....

  • The first CD I bought was a video game (yeah, they released those on CDs, kids), so, not sure if it qualifies.

  • That is funny, i was into fuel a long time ago. It was one of the first cds i bought, i remember buying some rap cd for a friend of mine in sixth grade. I think their name was Bone Thugs. I think that was the first cd i bought.

  • It was from a singer in my country.

  • I'm almost positive the first CD I bought was Metallica's Master of Puppets, it may have been The Black Album though, either way, both are great albums.

I remember my first CD player (it was a Sony Discman that I bought from my friend), but I'm not sure what my first CD was. I think it was Doggystyle by Snoop Dogg, as I remember listening to that when I rode my bike to school.

The first few CDs I owned were pretty diverse (although not as diverse as my MP3 collection is now). Other than Doggystyle, I remember having the Lion King Soundtrack, AC/DC Live, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers Greatest Hits, and I used to go to sleep while listening to a CD of the Billboard top hits of 1984.

  • I didn't buy it, but I got a crappy Kidz Bop CD in my Happy Meal when I was 7. My God, it sucked.

  • Do you like the song Gin and Juice?

Yeah, that was the main reason that I bought it. My favorite on the album though is Who am I ( what's my name?).

Speaking of Gin and Juice, have you ever seen this video? It cracks me up every time. :)

    Gin and Juice

Although, this one is still the best of the bunch:

    Rapper's Delight

    :D

  • Not sure, it was either OutKast's Stankonia or Blink-182 Enema of the State. I got them around the same time. Both hold up very well to this day, though I've moved closer to the rap side of things.

  • I was never really got into music till I was in my mid-teens and the first CD I bought was Swan Songs by Hollywood Undead when I was 14 I believe.

  • God, that's going back a while. The first one I can remember is Nirvana's album "Nevermind"

  • This was my first cd that I got when I was like 8. I got it taken away pretty quickly tho after I started singing one of the songs "Addicted" in the car.

I remember that it cost me 6e, and I thought that "Invaders" was a ufo song hahaha

  • The best of R.E.M

  • This would have been my first CD! But my mum read the album name and refused to let me get it xD
