My apologies, I recommend contacting/emailing our Support Staff at Support@Telltalegames.com, and explain your exact situation to them, and they should be able to assist you further with your particular issue.

Thank you for answer. I know that my computer has low specs and I bought the game as a gamble knowing that. I would NEVER complain about it

I apologize for any difficulties this has caused, can you please clarify if you receive an error message when you reach the screen you become stuck on? Also, have you tried switching to Windowed Mode using the Windows shortcut (ALT+Enter) and see if the game proceeds to the main menu properly?

After looking over your Support Tool information, it seems that your computer is running below the minimum system requirements to run the game successfully. Where we require a minimum of 512mb of dedicated memory, your computer is currently running at 128mb of dedicated memory. Your computer uses an integrated Intel graphics card, which we do not recommend using for our game, as they tend to run under minimum specs. I recommend either trying to update your current graphics card's drivers to the latest version, and see if you are able to play, or try playing the game on a computer above minimum system requirements if you have the ability to.

You can also try changing the game's resolution and graphics settings to a lower setting, and then continue the episode, and see if your issue is resolved.

  • Hi - I am also getting much the same issue. When I try to start The Walking Dead Season 2 (dvd version) I get a black screen for a moment and can sometimes see a mouse cursor then it crashes back to the desktop. I have updated to the latest display driver, tried reinstalling several times, tried running the program as administrator and in compatibility mode and nothing helps.
    Please advise any other options

Can you please clarify what the error message says, word for word? Also, could you please take a screenshot of the error message?

  • Hi Mike
Don't worry. I have swapped back to a hard drive with Windows 8 installed on it rather than Windows 8.1 and it works on this install so I will just use it to play.
    Thanks

Please make sure that your computer is using the more powerful graphics card when playing the game. You can do this by enabling the graphics card through Optimus if you have the option. Please read over This Article on how to enable the more powerful graphics card using Optimus.

After looking over your Support Tool information, I noticed your graphics card's drivers haven't been updated in a while. Please try updating your graphics cards drivers to the latest version, then start the game, and see if you are able to successfully play.

  • OK, telltale. Here is my problem. I have an Xbox 360 with the new Walking Dead Season 2 game FOR Xbox 360, and i surely have the right TV and a good amount of space left. after all, this is my 5th time playing. I put the game disk inside of the slider, and press play. After a few seconds of loading, the game shows me this message; The game couldn't start. Try downloading the game again. Download it? Its a disk!

Can you please clarify if you have used all four save slots in the game, or are currently using 3 or 4 slots for your save files? If so, please try deleting a save slot, then try starting the game again.

  • I am having a very similar problem on my Macbook. I open game and it loads up, I hear the absent sounds, and when I move my mouse I can hear it scrolling over options and things, but the screen remains black and I cannot do anything. Here is the data: https://www.sendspace.com/file/4035nl

My apologies, please try the workaround for players using Mac OS 10 Yosemite, below:

    1) In System Preferences, select Displays, then select Scaled - More Space to change the screen resolution to very detailed.

    2) In System Preferences, select Dock, then deselect 'Automatically hide and show the dock', to be able to click on the bottom of the screen.

    3) Start up the game and run it in windowed mode using the Mac shortcut (Command + F).

    4) You should now be able to see the main menu now and change the screen resolution to one that fits the window.
