What's Your Opinions On Red Haired Community?

I watched plenty of video about discrimination against Red Head people, and it was sad. What do you think about this issue? I would like to discuss this.

  • Um, the same as my opinion of every non-choice based community.

They should be equal, and discrimination against them is bad.

Yes it is wrong. South Park and the media really hit the nail on them. I'm trying to make a story based on it. A red head girl moves to her new school and is excited, but when she gets in the school she realizes her nightmare is about to begin. Students bully her everyday and only a select few of students stand by her side.

South park does the same to black people and gay people, it's all ironic.

    Ugh, no people are people.

People make fun of each other, the odd jab at something is fine between friends etc. But focusing on differences just makes everything so much worse both for the people who abuse others for it and the people who try to remove it by focusing on things even more and ending up being more of a problem than what they are trying to eradicate

Since you brought up south park that episode where the nurse has an deformity and the whole town tries to make her feel better by singling her out just shows how flawed the process like that is. People dont want to be singled out especially if people think the are helping by doing so.

  • I only heard of red hair discrimination in America. There is no such thing in Europe. We are all equal here. (Yesterday I had Politics class and our teacher told us we shouldn't support gay people because that's wrong. And open marriages too.)

  • I can't tell if this is sarcasm?

  • The gingers? They got a problem with gingers? I am appalled.

And P.S. Because I know someone is gonna holler at me calling them 'gingers', well Well, I used to have red-hair, and I was totally cooled being called a ginger, so yeah. I still get highlights in the summer though.

  • Which part?

  • My teacher's a woman. And I don't understand you question(sorry).

  • Really? That exists? I know there is mention that that happens but I've never heard of anybody actually getting made fun of because they have red hair (unless you count the very rare question of if the carpet matches the drapes). Then again, where I'm from is a majority Irish, so being red-headed isn't that uncommon.

  • They have red hair and are attractive.

  • I've never heard of this. The only reason I can think of is if you're trying to discriminate against someone and can't think of any other physical attribute. If they didn't have red hair, then you'd be teasing them because their nose is too big, or their eyebrows were too bushy, etc.

  • Red headed women are beautiful, and need to let me wine and dine them. I will show them a fab time.

Red headed men need to JFM their hair, to live a normal life.

  • Not trying to sound rude (I am an author myself), but your story honestly sounds a little distasteful. Don't misunderstand me, but just that final quote "Will she be able to cope with her struggle, or will it cause her to commit suicide? Find out in my future short story..." just rubs me the wrong way. Now I know that other forms of television, film and novelization has featured the matter of suicide, but most use it with good taste (some don't, and that's when it can be insulting). So, even though I don't know what will happen in your story, I just warn you to be careful and to be mindful with your heavy subject matter.

Yes it is wrong. South Park and the media really hit the nail on them. I'm trying to make a story based on it. A red head girl moves to her

  • The suicide also seems rather random in the context of the story..

  • I'm sorry for making this thread. I just wanted to know your opinions on them, and if you all hate me now I understand.

  • Don't be dramatic. We don't hate you, I was just trying to warn you of what people might say and think.

  • It's not meant to offend anyone :(. I figured people would relate to being bullied, and how they tend to start to give up on life. With alittle help they grow into a better person. I'll get some better ideas from my sister, and I'm sorry if I offended you. I suck at story telling anyway...

  • I'm sorry. It's just that was the idea that came in my head after watching some bulling videos on red head discrimination in America. It was a story of struggle, hope, and respect. It wasn't meant to hurt anyone, and I accept all the criticisms lol.

Believe me, I know that you weren't trying to be offensive in any way. Also, I hope you realized that I wasn't worried that people wouldn't get offended if they were red heads, but more so because of the suicide part. If you payed attention, you might have noticed the thread titled "suicide" where a user was asking for how he should kill himself. It was distasteful, and people were offended, and the discussion was closed. To be honest, I've never even seen a girl bullied because of her red hair. In reality, some prefer that. Anyways, don't get so down on yourself, we were plainly trying to help.

  • I'll just get rid of that part okay? And maybe she should be bullied because she's shy, beautiful, loner, and keeps to self? her red hair doesn't matter to them. I don't really know, and thanks for the help.

  • No problem. My recommendation is that you think this story through completely before starting anything, think about it, why would she get bullied if she's just shy and/or beautiful? Anyways, just think things through, then get to work. There's no rush! XD

People always make fun of gingers. But my first boyfriend had red hair, like fire-hydrant red. I personally loved it, but others teased him for it.

Edit: Looks like red-haired women are even sought after by men (kinda reminds me of the whole "Ooo, blondes are the hottest" standard decades ago). I guess it's a gender thing.

  • Redheads are amazing. There is more, much more, to being a redhead than the color of one’s hair.

I have a “Thing” for redhead women, especially RoseRed.

  • Of course we don't hate you. It's just not something I've noticed myself. Indeed, the opposite is true - red-headed women have a reputation for being fiery lovers. This has been confirmed by everyone who's ever discussed it with me, but alas, I have no personal experience.

I'm sorry. It's just that was the idea that came in my head after watching some bulling videos on red head discrimination in America. It was a story of struggle, hope, and respect. It wasn't meant to hurt anyone, and I accept all the criticisms lol.

  • What's wrong with redheads? :O Redheads are awesome.

  • They're people, just like everyone else. I have to say though, red-headed woman are really good looking.

  • Gingers are ugly and evil. Red haired once was making fun of bald guy. In the bus. He said - what, God didn't have any more hair to divide? Bald one answered - nah, he was offering red hair. I refused.

  • Redhead people are awesome, and the redhead women are stunning.

  • You don't have to apologize to me, and i don't hate you. I been in love with Jill Valentine my entire life, she won't answer my phone calls. I can't eat, i can't sleep, i drink too much because i can't take the pain. I ended up on the Dr Phil Show last week, shaking violently because of withdrawal. Dr Phil had to explain to me that Jill Valentine wasn't a real person, it crushed my world.

I believe it has to do with the uniqueness of red hair. I personally don't like bright red, but prefer something along the lines of blood red and darker. It might be my eyes or pixels, but a little more red than your profil pic, if I'm seeing it right.

And I personally think blondes are the most irratating. Drive me insane.
