Game never starts... dont think it's my system though

Hi,

I downloaded TWAU from Steam months ago. I was able to play until episode 2. Then, for some reason, my game won't start anymore. I'd run it, the screen would turn black, then just goes back to the desktop. I've posted a thread about this already, and all I was told was that my computer didnt reach the minimum requirements. This is weird since I was able to play up to a certain part, and now suddenly my laptop isnt equipped to handle it? Not sure what's up since i tried uninstalling, reinstalling the game a couple of times, and to no avail.

Even weirder is that I can even play far more demanding games like FarCry 4.... while TWAU still won't work.

Would really love to get some feedback on this since I bought the entire series of episodes.

My apologies, Below are a few possible solutions (You may have tried a few, but I will post all of the potential solutions below):

    1) Ensure you have the latest drivers for both your graphics card, and your computer’s BIOS

    2) Restart your system

    3) Unplug your gamepad (and all other USB devices other than keyboard/mouse) and plug in headphones to the audio out jack.

    4) Verify your cache if you purchased through Steam (https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=2037-QEUH-3335)

    5) Run the game as admin

    6) Run the game in compatibility mode (right click on game’s icon, click properties, click compatibility tab , and we recommend running the game in Windows 98/ME ) (We recommend Windows 98/ME)

    7) Reinstall the game

    8) Make sure that the Steam application is not set to a compatibility mode (right click on steam and click properties, then check compatibility, and make sure that it is not checked to play in a different OS)

    9) Disable Steam Overlay, if you purchased through Steam (http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3168263)

    10) Opt out of the Steam Beta, if you purchased through Steam (http://steamcommunity.com/discussions/forum/1/828934424165581080/)

  • Hi again,

note that I'm using a laptop with 2 video cards: 1's the built in Intel graphics, while the other's NVIDIA. Last time I ran the support tool, I was just told that it's because of the built in Intel one... but then NVIDIAs there, allowing me to play other more demanding games...

Hope you can help out. Would really love to play the game, even if its been awhile since I tried again.

Please make sure that your computer is using your more powerful graphics card to play the game by enabling the more powerful graphics card through Optimus. To do this, please follow the steps in This Article.
