Curious about the sincerity of moderator speculation.

So on the recent thread about the new game announcements, mods were joining in to guess about what the game might be. That's cool, of course.

However, within about 2 minutes of the reveal, a section of the forum for the game was up, with it's own design. I doubt this coding could be managed in 2 minutes:

Did telltale make this, and unlock it for the mods when the announcement came, or were mods given prior knowledge? If the latter, how does that reconcile with their speculation?

  • Moderators are not the same as Staff Members on the web team. Telltale Staff members design the forums, etc. Volunteer Moderators just stick around to make sure you all behave. ;)

Yes I know, I just wasn't sure whether actually designing things within the website itself ever lay at the hands of you guys or not. :)

  • Nope! We do suggest some new features to make moderation easier on our end, but that's it.

The web team (aka actual staff members) do the complicated work when it comes to designing the website.

  • Ah, I see, hence the suggestion and feedback forum does not lose all value.
