Just thought we could list what and where we posted regarding the bone trailer, and then list up some suggestions on more forums to post at in the future, if you have any.
I'll also add your links to the list, to make it easier to see the list of posts/sites.

Telltale (www.telltalegames.com)
if someone are on the forums, they probably visit the front page aswell? atleast that's my philosophy, but i guess it doesnt hurt to post here either.

(can't post links or images without paid account/having posted 150 messages or something, plus the free forums on both here and ign are so "popular" that threads dissapear into oblivion in a manner of minutes)
IGN (www.ign.com)
http://boards.ign.com/message.asp?topic=92871158
(almost the same here. can't post in other than a couple of "free forums", and no images. maybe we should pay for some "The Telltale Guy" account that we all can use?)

I'm actually a little wary of being on Team Bone and posting Bone news at Mojo. Conflict of interest & all that. However I've sent several messages to Jake, co-owner of the site regarding my participation here, and he's not replied and has posted in the Team Bone / Street team thread.
Most of the Mojo staffers post Telltale news, so when newsworthy Telltale stuff pops up I'll probably hang back for a day or two to see if anyone else posts it, and if not then I'll do it.
I will continue to use the mojo news comment feature and forum of course, even while exercising caution on news posting.
Yep. I started the main bone thread, & continue to post in it and the Trailer specific one too.
I also post on the world's 5th-12th largest (depending on the week) at the Star Wars fansite the force.net. I have a Telltale/Bone thread there that I keep upped (ex-LucasArter Ryan Kaufman has contributed to that thread too) and I advertise the game and its connections to Sam & Max 2 in my forum sig.
BONE - 'Out of Boneville' The Game Trailer out now (from the ex-Sam & Max 2 team)

I post regularly in theforce.net's games forum (predominantly LucasArts based, as you'd imagine), and the community forum and the NZ forum, and intermittantly at about 6-8 other forums there.
I will also start posting in the gameplanet.co.nz New Zealand gaming boards a bit closer to the first release.
I have lots of posts across the lucasforums network, so will change my sig there too.
I also have an oft-used sign-in at the idlethumbs.net forums, so will update my sig there as well.
One thing I would like to urge is that we're not seen to be spamming forums. I was the mod of theforce.net games forum for a couple of years, and there was nothing more annoying to mods and forum-users alike than someone signing up, posting a new thread advertising something or some site, and then disappearing.
If you're hitting a new site for the first time, can I please suggest singning up and posting in several existing threads for a week or more before starting any new thread on Bone? And ensure you stick around to converse in that thread, don't hit & run. Telltale will get a bad rep if it's perceived to be employing forum spammers. And on that, ensure you don't just cut & past the same blurb in your opening Bone posts across different sites. A quick google search that shows up the same wording on numerous sites is a dead giveaway of spamming.
So, I know we're in telltale's service to spread the word, but it's actually very important (in my opinion) that it doesn't appear that way to the outside.
Here's another angle to take with the forums.
There are a number of forums online, for animation enthusiasts and pros.
These folks will take an interest in Bone for a few reasons:
1) 3D animation featured in Bone game
2) A number of people in this community have followed Jeff Smith and his series
Here's a list of some animation forums that I've come across, that would be worth posting in:

And JP, I know what you're saying. I had some reservations and alot of thought went into making the threads I started genuine, but ofcourse it's a little hard making them completely unique, as they basically will contain the same info anyways. But I thought about it this way: If we just behave like human beings, there's no problem in informing other communities(forums) about happenings at Telltale and about the game, just as long as we don't flood them with all kinds of uninteresting crap that only we would have interest in.
About Mojo, I can understand your reservations about posting there, but then again, you are just a person observating, it's not like you're being paid to do this. (well, free comics and such maybe, but still). We're doing this because we're interested in Telltale, and want people to share our interest. But it's not like we're putting guns to peoples' heads to make them go buy the game. You can be a objective Telltale guy anyways. I mean, there isn't really a conflict of interest if you even review the game on Mojo, if you feel that you can have a objective viewpoint. But the problem would more be that it can be misunderstood, and put stuff in a bad light if you review it, if it comes out you're "employed" by Telltale. But posting news-articles regarding Telltale on Mojo I don't see the problem with. You have close ties to Telltale and a interest in them, so you are the best person to report on what's going on since you follow them closely. Maybe you can even get inside info before others! That can't be bad for the site.
Other than that, good points. Most of the things you listed are things I have also been contemplating. Especially the "non-spam" approach,a nd actually contributing to the threads and checking the forums for questions etc. And that's also why I though of the "Generic Telltale Fan Guy" forum thingie on some big forums, f.ex. paid accounts on ign or whatnot, where we can post stuff, but that would create other headaches ofcourse, we don't want people posting personal opinions that are taken as Telltale staff stuff. We all know that's always fun. Just not in a good way.
Now, we have these comic (and 3d-art) forums as well.. And since this isn't 100% adventure game (minigames), it could also be posted in other genre forums. I'm probably going to start doing something tomorrow, if I can find some time.
Off-topic; I've just read the complete set of Bone!
Feel there's something unfinished, though
http://forums.gamespot.com/gamespot/show_union_categories.php
Some ideas:
- Post on one of GameSpot's existing unions (comic books, for example)
- Form a new union (Telltale Games, Bone, Adventure games)
Anyone want to give this a go?
