What you want in Season 2
So if Season 2 is ever announced, what would you want in it? This includes, settings, characters, new game mechanics. For game mechanics, I would like a Smell feature, like Rhys from Borderlands and his echo eye, you could press Q to smell things and learn more from it. For characters I'd want Boy Blue and Kay, and for a setting I'd like the bench Snow and Bigby go to alot in the earlier comics

Setting: Winter, but following the plot of Season 1. I want winter so Bigby HAS to wear his awesome brown trench coat.
New Characters: Introduce Boy Blue, Briar Rose, Rose Red and Cinderella; also give Grimble something to do this time!
New game mechanics: A 'smell' feature would be cool; I would like a sort of 'detective mode' where Bigby is mentally scanning the environment and making his own deductions (Like in Fables Volume 1) whilst talking to ppl or just looking around.
Villains: Bloody Mary would be appreciated I say bring back Jersey Devil and Tweedle Dee (maybe Dum for those that let him live) Also introduce the guy who left the answer phone message for Beauty and Beast.
Actually do it this way: If you let Dum live then HE will appear in Season 2 saying Dee died from his wounds; but if you killed Dum then Dee will survive his wounds and appear in the Season instead...
I cant beleave I forgot to mention winter, I want it to be winter too :P
Setting: Winter so we can see the famous jacket of course
New Characters: I want them to develop Grenn, Holly, Nerissa, other character seen in S1 A LOT more. They all are unique character so they shouldn't be wasted by bringing a new group. Maybe some more cameos from the comics but thats it.
New game mechanics: Smell feature would be pretty cool.
Villains: No Bloody Mary please. Rather we see someone new.
I agree with developing Gren, Holly and Nerissa etc
I want Woody to come back as well cuz in the comics during The Great Fables Crossover; Bigby heavily implies to Jack that Woody is either dead or not in a good way, and possibly that Bigby is the one that made him that way...
Who knows? Maybe Bigby is responsible for killing/maiming Woody as referenced during that story arc.
Briar Rose and Rose Red should both be cameos actually; maybe make Briar Rose a more prominent character than Rose Red though (Briar's more badass imo)
I will probably get some backlash for this but; I want LESS of Snow this time around. Because she is now the Deputy Mayor she should be stuck behind her desk and not following Bigby around, that can be Boy Blue or Cinderella's job!
I'm not saying Snow should be reduced to a supporting role, but I feel there should be less focus on her...
Yeah, Snow shouldnt be with Bigby on cases anymore, but they could replace her with Boy Blue, Snow would still be a major character though
Ohhh, yes you will! [Glass Him]
But now seriosuly, I kind of agree with your statement, altho I think she shouldn't be totally stuck behind the desk. I mean, even Crane moved his ass to get Bigby out of custody in Ep2. In my humble opinion, she should follow Bigby at least twice in the entire season, her character would add more variety to some scenes, I'm sure of it.
She should be around in places, but there is no excuse for her to just randomly show up at a particular spot outside of the Woodland's. I don't want her reduced to a supporting role, like I said, but she should be less prominent than Season 1.
And like I said above; either Cindy (albeit discreetly) or Boy Blue should become the person that follows Bigby around places...
Id lie Cindy to be in Season 2 , but it wouldn't make scene for her to follow around with Bigby. Maybe there will be some "off the books thing" in Season 2 Like the original plot with Bigby going into hiding and Cindy will help him
U gonna glass me mate? I'll fuckin' break ya face with a pool cue!
I'm joking!!!! I'm not a complete prick :P
It's different now though: Crane never did any work so he may as well have not even bothered to sit at the desk; also Snow does leave her desk at times in the early Volumes of Fables to do other things, but she is usually sitting behind it.
The reason it is different than the comics is that Snow has only just started as Deputy Mayor; she has to deal with EVERYTHING that Crane didn't do, in my mind that would limit her from ever leaving the desk...
Aahhhhhhh now that would be good!! Maybe Bigby gets framed for something and the framing is so good that it HAD to be Bigby that did it.
Cue Fabletown's best spy! (In the comics, I think in Fairest In All The Land, Cindy describes herself as "A lousy detective, but the best they have at the moment")
Well if hes going to [Glass You] then you better [Glass Him] right back !
Nah mate; British pubs have a scale of things to use: Fist, then Glass, then Pool Cue/balls, then Chair (and if you're in a really shit part of town) a Gun...
lol ignore the above, Britain isn't that terrible :P
Plz don't glass me guys!!
UWOTM8?
... I take it back???
Ya get me alright.
Tomato juice and vodka, aka, the Bloody Mary cocktail...
Yeah I'd like to try one :P
i would pay so much for that game if it had all the stuff you said especially the trench coat and boy blue. im reading the comics and boy blue is my favorite character ever i love him so much
Keep reading... You'll find out why eventually.
My fav character will always be Bigby, no one else...
yeah im up to date with the comics. and since day one hes been my favorite
Boy Blue... that moment made me shed a tear (when Swineheart informs everyone of his death)
As long as we have the choice to kick everyone's ass, go against orders, which in turn will piss off Snow, I'll be happy. More Woody too, I grew fond of that guy. A follow up on the cliff hanger would be nice, and I'd also like more interaction with Nerissa if possible.
Here's a challenge for you.
NO TIME LIMIT, you have to pick one in order to continue.
Dammit..probably number 2. She does help Bigby out sometimes.
"Thanks, Snow, you're a great person that helps everyone out."
hehehehehehe.....
Shit..well, I'll just do the opposite when she asks Bigby to do her a favor so she'll be mad again.
I know this idea might not bode well with some (if not most) people, but has anybody considered maybe the following?
Storyline: Bigby is still tracking down Nerissa after the end of TWAU Season 1, and finds out Nerissa is somewhere out in the mundy world, in an unknown fabletown (like Shadow Fabletown from Cinderella Volume: Fables are Forever), and enlists the help of Cinderella, and the Tourists (Mowgli, Feathertop, Woodsman) to track her down. They can also go into detail of how the group Tourists was set up.
The reason this storyline interests me is because in the comics, with exception of Mowgli not much of Tourists characters are explored (Feathertop is in The Wolf in the Fold novel, but not in the actual comics. Woodsman is only mentioned, but no appearence). It can be a great way to bring back Woody (after his good appearence in Season 1), and chance to explore characters like Feathertop and bring in Mowgli.
Of course, this would mean big changes to the cast lineup:
My idea sounds really out of norm and is very much chartering into a new territory, but I thought I'd throw in the idea since we're talking about possibilities of Season 2 (but heck, I wouldn't complain if they do decide to stick with New York Fabletown either, JUST GIVE US SEASON 2 TELLTALE!!)
That would be amazing. I would absolutely love trying out a new Fabletown of the sorts with new characters, new locations, and they won't be as restricted as they would be in NYC Fabletown.
Would miss seeing some of S1's characters though ;-;
i was crying like a baby when that happened. i shed a tear when he got his arm amputated. i miss him so much (in my mind he was like my husband so every moment was very emotional)
Yeah, not having majority of Season 1 characters back is the ONE major drawback of my idea (aside from location no longer in NYC Fabletown, that is if people prefer to stay in NYC)......
Only characters they would retain would be Bigby, Nerissa (Faith), Woodsman, and Snow (though very much limited appearence as I've said above).
And new characters from comics would be Cinderella, Mowgli, and Feathertop, and the rest would be Telltales' original characters.
I quite like the idea of incorporating the Tourists into the mix, and with the setting no longer in Fabletown (i.e. New York one) it would be no problem having Cinderella into the mix as well (to me this seems like a very ideal combination of the Tourists and Cindy, since they all work for and report to Bigby)
Also, with the new Fabletown as the background, Bigby may not always be able to do as he pleases like in Season 1 (since he's not the Sheriff in new Fabletown, and Fables there may not be afraid of him like in NYC), and that adds an interesting new dynamic to situations as well.
Yeah, smell feature sounds cool. And while I did love Bloody Mary in Season 1, I'd like to see someone new as well.
I like the smell feature and detective mode (by the way, by detective mode, do you mean situation where Bigby goes to Toad's apartment with Snow and deduces something is not right and starts putting together the clues?).
Though I'm not sure I want to see the Crooked Man's henchemen/woman back - Yes even Bloody Mary.
I totally understand that pretty much everyone loved her (heck I loved the character too!). but I'd like to see new characters (see my idea below).
Bloody Mary and Nerissa scenes.
Agreed. I think if Telltale wants to make a S2, letting it take place away from Fabletown would be their best bet yet it would also be sad to see.
Who knows; maybe Willingham will bring him back in the Last issue for a cameo, maybe he greets Rose when she dies (and she will be the one to fucking die!)
I would like it if he and Rose reconciled in the Afterlife, something about how they are each others true loves or something...
I would like that to happen at least...
By detective mode; I mean something like: During a conversation, Bigby is speaking to himself about something that is off about a person or a thing he is looking at... Maybe press a button when prompted to gain Bigby's own insight.
I'd love to have it be set in winter.
I would also love the protagonists to still be Bigby Wolf and a half Mundy half Fable (Their father/mother could be anyone, but I'd like their father to be Robin Hood) who was sought out by Snow and is now under hers and Fabletowns protection. After the events of Season One, people vote that Bigby should train the half Mundy half Fable, teaching them more about Fabletown with new and old areas to explore. They would play a detective duo in which both their skills are needed.
Bigby is there to intimidate and at times- can offer a friendly, warm helping hand. However he has grown more bitter due to the events of Season One, so it's up to the half Mundy half Fable to speak to Mundies for questioning outside Fabletown, as well as allow players to either be more friendly to their suspects for new crimes (or more intimidating - in which use Bigby).
Both of them have different skill-sets the Half-Mundy Half-Fable has "deadeye" leading them to be able to aid Bigby with extra quick-time events in case he fails a fight (For example, if you fail to press Q to avoid a stab, Bigby will get cut and before he gets stabbed you have another opportunity to shoot/attack the Fable attacking Bigby to save him).
The story would set that Bloody Mary is alive, creating new cheap Glamour that works yet actually paralyses the targets for the rest of their long life, unless the curse is broken - the only way in doing so would be to murder Bloody Mary.
Your decisions effect how people look fondly on Bigby and his new partner, as well as what happens to this new partner.
Do they have a happy ending? Stopping Bloody Mary and decide to live in the real world (though promising to visit the Fable world) once again?
Will they stay in Fabletown?
Do they themselves get paralysed, sacrificing themselves as they lift the curse but only by paralysing themselves?
Do they die, leaving Bigby to aid things?
Does Bigby get paralysed?
I was thinking I'd want something like this too-- with the tourists, especially... but there's no reason Fabletown NY can't be involved... perhaps you'd play Bigby and as Cindy... who you choose to investigate inside Fabletown proper and outside of it affects the game.
You could have the new areas you discussed, and also bring back old favorites. You could also throw in some investigation at the Farm.
Oddly, I think Nerissa shouldn't be the main focus-- but she should appear. This way, you could expand on S1 characters-- Tiny Tim (my favorite), Holly, Gren, Jersey (who I think would be trying to fill the power gap left by Crooked Man's incarceration/death), etc. You could also show some fan favorite characters that you mentioned. Perhaps Cole will be there too. I'd also love to see Vulco and his brothers, but that's just me... Oh, and I could totally see Bluebeard following Bigby to cause problems in the investigation.
I agree with others that Bigby needs a 'smell' feature. One of the complaints I read about was how he couldn't just follow Nerissa's scent or pick it up when the head was discovered. That's another reason why I'd love Cindy as a playable character. She could reasonably make mistakes and hasn't got Bigby's hyper senses.
Maybe this is all too much for a season, but I'd love to see it.
I don't think Woody is a Tourist CoolGuy; all the evidence of him in the comics points that he is either dead or in a bad way (Great Fables Crossover, Bigby's threat to Jack "Have you seen that Woodcutter recently!?")
Feathertop should be in TWAU somewhere!! He only ever appears in the Prose novel and then is absent for the entire series, not even mentioned again... He seemed kinda awesome :P
Also it sounds like the Tourists were set up way before the events of TWAU as their job is to check up on Fables living outside of Fabletown
Actually he is. Willingham himself identified him as one of the tourists (see the links below):
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Fables_characters#The_Tourists
http://www.clockworkstorybook.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=1198&p=21902&hilit=woodsman#p21902
Regarding Bigby's quote to Jack in Great Fables Crossover, well Bigby was sure as hell pissed off at Jack and most likely wanted to scare the ##$%$#% out of him, so I wouldn't take that too liteally. Or he could be still feel vengeful towards the Woodsman, for different reasons other than the Red Riding Hood encounter.
As for whether he is dead or not, well I think he is alive (after all Fables are pretty hard to kill, and Woody survived getting his own axe whacked on his head......).
There is no definite timeline indicating (in the comics) of when the Tourists were set up. So it could be either before or after TWAU Season 1 events.
If it is before TWAU, then they could still have seen of Woody being initiated into the group.
Even after TWAU can be a possibility if until TWAU there have been no Tourists group, and it's only been Bigby and Cindy who've been keeping tabs on Fables outside Fabletown. With the turn of events in TWAU Season 1, in the beginning of TWAU, Bigby can realise he's gonna need some help, and form the Tourists group (and Cindy from then can just focus on her Spy work).
Either way works for me.
