TWAU reflects real life
Today, I was walking down the street and just had a thought to myself - how realistic TWAU is actually on some points, but then it struck me - it reflects real life problems very well. For example :
- Crooken Man's loans. We all know that there are people, like thugs or gang members who give you a loan on "good" terms, but when you have to return it, various things come into the light and you're suddenly working for them, whether you want it or not. People become their toys, and may live in their influence all of their life.
- Lack of help from the upped institutions. Only the rich have influence there, and poor people, even if you want to help them, often you turn them down or just say "We'll look into it" and then put their file away. Look at Bluebeard, for example - he's rich, and they've got all the time for him, unlike other Fables, who come expecting justice.
- Forced prostitution. Look at Nerissa, Faith, Lilly. This happens in real life too, and a lot. Women get kidnapped and used as sex slaves, forced to work in some strip club or so. It's a very big problem nowadays, and TWAU is a perfect example for it.
- People fade. I've read this in some similar post, and I'd like to give the credit for the poster of it, but I can't remember his nickname. Anyway, hear Nerissa's words at the end of Ep. 5 - she couldn't let her friend fade like nothing, without anyone remembering them. How many people die alone, forgotten, heartbroken ? A lot. People dissapear, and never appear again.
I know many may have seen this comparison with the real life, but it just struck me today. TWAU is a far darker place when you realize that all that happened there is what happens here, in real world. And in real world, there isn't a happy ending, not always. Good thing TWAU has Bigby

Yes, indeed. Their lives are way more crazy in New York.
I would like to add that I usually rip a man's arm off every day in a bar fight gone wrong.
This post hit me hard actually; the world is a rough place, we just choose to ignore it sometimes and try to see the good in it...
All we can hope is that we don't end up forgotten when our time comes...

Don't forget whenever I get into a fight with someone in an alley I rip their throat out with my bare hands.
Whenever I go to a funeral men with shotguns show up who are here to stop me from being trouble and then my friends get involve and they get shot...Funerals are eventful.
Also, I often go into Pawn Shops and end up smashing an anvil on the owner after a brutal fight
Whenever I visit an old rival I find him slapping a woman on the night and I get into a fight with him and jump out of a wall and land on a car.
I have a tendency to kick down an old enemy's door and then get into a fight with him from time time...

Whenever I am investigating the murder of a hooker who I had a brief connection with I run into a "friend" who is convinced me and his wife and bangin' and we end up breaking some hotel doors.
Whenever I head to an old warehouse an in attempt to hunt down a loan shark and horrible person I end up getting into a fight with his enforcer and kill her.
She might not be dead...

I sometimes fight with psychotic demonic chicks, usually on weekends.
I usually get bitched at by both my crush/boss and boss.
... I have a talking pig in my apartment, he tries to make me a better person and I keep threatening to send him to a farm.

It's a joke and others found it funny as you can tell...However that is an opinion and that's not why you're wrong.
This is on topic, it was a joke to reference many events in the game which we say happened or happens to us in the real world.

Just saying every event that happened in a game is, of course, top humor. I just think that when I try to emphasize the really bad things TWAU shows, it's not really very appropriate to start joking around it
