Is B***** ***y really dead?

edited January 2015 in The Wolf Among Us

At the end of the fight with Bigby, Bloody Mary is defeated by a bite of the big bad wolf. But do you think she is really dead? I mean, we didn't see her body, her real form... So, maybe she can be still alive, and that person Bigby killed is only a clone of her...

Fight

What do you think? It's a "stupid" theory? I missed something? XD

When I first played this and I saw her death, I said to myself "Something doesn't feel right about that..." I couldn't fathom that she was actually dead; I guess it was because her death felt anti-climactic...

I don't think she is dead and I would like her to reappear someday, but only time (and TellTale lol) will tell as armis37 points out :)

  • Only time can tell, or Telltale. But it's probably going to be time.

I think that was the real form of BM, but I can't really be sure she's dead. It was a cool kill, but was it a kill for real ? Seems a bit too easy that the original dies the same as all of her clones.

  • Well, let's hope Wikia isn't right... XD

If there is a Season 2, her returning would sort of strike me as lazy writing from Telltale to avoid coming up with a new villain. I think she's dead, and that it should stay that way. Telltale should come up with an even cooler/creepier villain.

  • I kinda of hope so just because I dont want Season 2 to be Bloody Mary. Sure they could bring her back, but I still would rather have some other new bad guy

Absolutely agreed, I do think and hope she's not dead and will be in Season 2, because, Jesus man, I loved her so much! She's easily my favorite video game character of the past 10 years, and there's no words powerful enough to describe how much I'm craving to see more of her in the future.

Imo, Telltale has wasted a lot of potential with her in Season 1, and I'd really like them to make it easier on themselves by just bringing her back in Season 2 instead of coming up with some new villain. No one can replace Mary for me. Literally no one.

  • I made a suggestion on another thread that cuz they are releasing a comic of this game; they should give it a spin-off about Mary :)

Or maybe give Mary her own Season! lol that probably wouldn't work...

Agreed. I get that she's incredibly popular and all (since I loved the character in Season 1), but I'd imagine Telltale would wanna try out their own new villain (since they're always trying out new things) - and we already had her whole henchwoman thing in Season 1, and I don't wanna see retread of that.

I for one won't be crying a river if she ends up remaining dead.

  • Agreed. If they really do need to bring her back (though I personally don't see the need in terms of pure storytelling perspective) due to the fans, I'd rather she come back like Season 4 or Season 5 (if TWAU lasts that long). Season 2 or 3 just seems too early to bring her back.

I thought she wasn't dead either, until the wiki broke my heart. I really hope she comes back.

  • Like I said above, the wiki had her labelled as an 'Unknown' for about a month; then it got changed to 'Dead' :(

Honestly, it would be really silly of TT making Bloody Mary die that easily and that quickly by Bigby. I was expecting (at least) a 6 minute, deadly hide-n-seek scenario in Sheppard Metalworks with her. Telltale needs to bring B.M. back, simply because of how her character was rushed soon after she was introduced near the end of episode 3.

  • Imagine if we would have such a scene :

As the game starts, you're met with children giggling in the dark, calling BM. Sleepover party, just having a bit of fun. A moment of suspense when the chanting is done, and bam - BM appears behind the children. "Hello kids, wanted to see me ?" She proceeds to go into full slasher mode, but the screen goes black and we only hear screaming.

Bigby is called to a Mundy house by a Fable. Nobody knows why, Bigby is the Sheriff for Fables, not Mundies, right ? As he arrives, he finds a slaughtered family, their insides turned out, everything's a mess. Inside, in a bathroom he sees the typical BM summoning paint and all that, and there's a phrase on the mirror, written in blood - "See you around, Wolf".

I'm not a big fan of BM, but that would be pretty awesome :)

  • That opening for Bloody Mary wouldn't be bad at all, not bad at all indeed. Good job, armis! ;)

And yes, Bigby is the sheriff for Fables only.

  • I hope so. Being new to the forum, I am actually pretty surprised that people liked her. She is cheesy as all hell; is that maybe the appeal? I was convinced that TT was trying to make a serious character though by the way she looked in her normal form (and brutal and bloody), and her dialogue coupled with that is just kind of conflicting to me. I think you are giving Telltale too much credit to say they are planning something with her, but did they leave the door open to bring her back in at a possible date? Well a lot more than they have some characters in other series COUGH TWD COUGH.

  • edited January 2015

I think the appeal is that she is a hot, crazy badass who doesn't take shit from anyone :P Also is the fact that we see so little of her throughout the series and there is the potential for her character to be explored further...

I like punk/goth girls and their style so I was instantly taken by her. Also she is not only a huge favourite of mine, but also of both @TheZorkij and @JamesDalton1995

So... just be careful how u speak about her when those two bros of mine (and also me) are around XD

  • I think killing her like that would be very stupid. Also why would she throw herself, literally, in the wolf's teeth? She almost killed Bigby before with 1 silver bullet and I'm 99.9% sure she knows that too. So she would just shoot 2 bullets in his head or heart and be done with it. I'm 98% sure she is not dead and if she is then that's a very, very dumb decision by Telltale.

  • I once had a funky idea for season 2. Somewhere near the end of the second episode, the new villain casts some kind of souped-up "super-glamour" on Bigby that transforms him into the one Fable who came the closest to killing him outright: Bloody Mary.

This being an incredibly powerful form of glamour, Bigby's body AND mind are enchanted, to the point where he actually believes he's Bloody Mary...until something snaps him out of it (Colin's ghost, maybe?). Bigby recovers some of his original personality, but his appearance remains identical to Mary's. Even worse, the spell is so potent, Bigby can only access Bloody Mary's alternate shape, as opposed to his familiar "wolf self."

The rest of Fabletown, thinking the original Bloody Mary has somehow been resurrected, immediately goes on the hunt for Bigby/Mary, slamming the player into the role of a reluctant fugitive. This arc would continue until the curse is finally lifted at the climax of episode four.

  • Interesting idea; however:

    Colin's ghost

Colin isn't dead in TWAU :P

    incredibly powerful form of glamour

I doubt this; it is stated in the comics that the materials required to make glamours are very rare and they take time to make. If the 13th Floor Witches could make such a thing, I expect it would've come through at some point...

Don't get me wrong I like the idea! But I think it's a little too extreme in places...

Thank you, I can't stand her either. Cliche "badass" psycho with cockiness that made me want to throttle her. Really hope she's dead. Mary wasn't the type of person who'd run from a fight.

  • Colin isn't dead in TWAU :P

No, but he's dead after #6 of the comic book. There's only so many prequels to issue 1 that Telltale can believably cram in before Willingham's actual story has to begin. I was just trying to take continuity into account.

That's why I specifically said the particular glamour used on Bigby is a highly unique one, designed solely for the purpose of cursing Bigby. The villain of S2 would have had plenty of time and resources to manufacture such a glamour between seasons, and who's to say the villain can't be some kind of uber-witch herself?

I'm not going to "spoiler tag" anything. Honestly, if some guy digs THIS deep into the forum, stumbles across some random comment made about an issue released several years ago, and starts whining about having the plot spoiled for him, then I'm sorry, but he's a moron.

  • I'm assuming Bloody Mary is exclusive to the games, but I would like for her to return. If she doesn't I'm ok with that too, but I think her death was a little anti-climactic, and I think she'd make a great solo or lead villain. The wiki says she's dead, but wikis aren't official sources, and even if she is supposed to be dead, she can easily be brought back.

Mate, (no offense to you in any way but), Spoiler Tags are there for a reason you know?

Also, there are quite a number of people who have played TWAU, but have never read an issue of Fables until now (or recently started reading the series, but haven't reached your spoiler point just yet), so it is quite possible for a person like that to be spoiled even though the issue was released several years ago (they may have just wanted to discuss Bloody Mary here, but not read the comics yet).

So while it is not mandatory to use spoiler tags with spoiler comment/posts, it is still considered as courtesy (to tag them), especially towards those newcomers (yes, even though you may think they are morons).

p.s. Of course, I'm already up to date in all the Fables stuff, so I'm not one of those people (who are new to Fables).

Also might wanna spoiler tag your comment dude, not everyone has read Fables and when they see that Colin is dead... Yeah just spoiler tag i
