The Mad Libs Among Us: Be the Silliest Fable Around

First and foremost, if you have no clue on what Mad Libs is about, I have typed a brief description explaining what it is and how it is played.

Mad Libs is a popular book series well-known for its phrasal template word games. These word games often involve short stories with many of its key words replaced with blanks. Furthermore, they often task the person (or persons) to fill in the multiple blanks that are required to complete the story - the end results usually being quite humorous or nonsensical in nature.

Now, since that's been explained, I have provided a few example templates below to help you in creating your story. (should you wish to use them) If you don't like the examples I have provided - feel free to create your own story template in the comments section below, so that other people may use them to create their own unique type of tale!

WARNING: If you are going to use someone else's template for a story, make sure to credit the forum user somewhere in your comment! Also, be nice and have fun!

Bloody Mary, Bloody Mary, want to go to the Dairy?

My [noun], Bloody Mary, has agreed to stay with me at the [place of interest] for the weekend. However, I fear she is getting [adjective] after all the [present irregular verb] she did. To my surprise, she came up and requested that I take her somewhere she'd never been before. To which I responded, "Okay, do you want to go to the [place of interest]?" She responded with a [negative adjective] no. "Okay, uh, how about the [place of interest]?" Mary [past verb] for the nearest [noun] and holds it in front of your face. She threatens, "You're not giving me a place I would like to visit, you have [number] seconds to say what I want to hear, or else I will feed your [noun] to the family dog." I panic, only to randomly yell out. "The Dairy Farm! I hear there's a new Dairy Farm opening specifically for Fabletown today." Mary lowers her weapon and says, "Dairy Farm, huh? I've always wanted to try out some magical [dairy product] for myself. Let's go, and you're driving the [car brand] this time."

A Letter to Swineheart

Dear Dr. Swineheart,

It has come to my attention that my [noun], [Fable Name], has been acting sort of [adjective] lately. I'm not sure if it's the [noun] or the [noun] that caused this, but I'd like for it to stop. Can you please come over to the [place of interest] and check to see how [he or she] is doing? Besides, if you manage to see what [his or her] problem is, there will be [type of food] waiting for you on the [noun].

Many Thanks,

[Fable Name]

Here's mine. It's related to the decision of locking The Crooked Man up:

    Dear Dr. Swineheart,

It has come to my attention that my pet, Crooky, has been acting sort of noisy lately. I'm not sure if it's the food or the water that caused this, but I'd like for it to stop. Can you please come over to the apartment and check to see how he is doing? Besides, if you manage to see what his problem is, there will be owl stew waiting for you on the table.

    Many Thanks,

    Aunty Greenleaf

  • Haha these are always fun. I found one online at http://www.madtakes.com found a good one and plugged away. THIS is the results:

Once upon a time there was a Grendel. It had Hungry Boobs! One day it met Emily on the side of the Bedroom they were Eating. It was very Burgers; they both looked like hobos! All of the sudden they started singing Like Big Butts And Can Not Lie really loudly. They Hammered really Nails! Emily started Humping with Gren. They looked really Into It All!

    Yeah....xD

  • Haha, thanks for using my template, leatherwolf! Very good attempt at writing a story that makes sense as well.

  • Gren must have really enjoyed shaking his thing on the streets of New York to Like Big Butts and Can Not Lie to make the decision that he should take it into the bedroom with Emily. :P

Emily started Humping with Gren. They looked really Into It All!

That really paints a picture for how their children were conceived. xD

  • My ex-decorator, Bloody Mary, has agreed to stay with me at Club Tropicana for the weekend. However, I fear she is getting too obsessed with George Michael after all the WHAM! she did. To my surprise, she came up and requested that I take her somewhere she'd never been before. To which I responded, "Okay, do you want to go to a make your own teddy bear factory?" She responded with a forlorn no. "Okay, uh, how about the Isle of Dogs?" Mary leapt for the nearest bearded-dragon and holds it in front of your face. She threatens, "You're not giving me a place I would like to visit, you have 3.141592 seconds to say what I want to hear, or else I will feed your endangered birds-of-paradise collection to the family dog." I panic, only to randomly yell out. "The Dairy Farm! I hear there's a new Dairy Farm opening specifically for Fabletown today." Mary lowers her weapon and says, "Dairy Farm, huh? I've always wanted to try out some magical crème fraîche for myself. Let's go, and you're driving the Mystery Machine this time."

I've never really done one of these before but I do quite like them. :P Seeing as no one has tried Mary's yet, I thought I'd give it a go! And now I can't get 'Club Tropicana' out of my head. The drinks are free there, you know.

  • Mary lowers her weapon

That Bearded Dragon man... so lethal in the right hands XD

you're driving the Mystery Machine this time

    That was too funny!!!

    Well done! :D

  • He had to show off those moves to his woman. xD It must have worked because not only did they EAT the bed but, well....

It does paint quite the image. 'Mommy, were do babies come from?'

Gren & Emily: 'Well....' -memory fades to this exact moment- xD

That's a lotta WHAM! Also, George is probably a lucky man - having a Fable like Mary be obsessed with him. XD

Awesome and humorous attempt at this, Noir, I approve!

  • Yeah, too much WHAM! can be quite dangerous. Who knows - perhaps if Tez donned his white swimming trunks and tanned up, Mary might go after him. :P

That scene, of her playing WHAM! in the background while feeding my lungs to the family dog is actually quite disturbing. :P Though, I said birds-of-paradise collection to be fed to the dog, not lungs. XD

  • Oh yeah I know about the birds-of-paradise. REALLY lovely flower, too. :) I just had this image of Mary dancing to the song while feeding body parts to the dog. I'm not sure if you've seen the show 'American Dad' but there was an episode and the alien Roger was harvesting a kidney and dancing to 'It's hip to be a square.' Pictured Mary. xD
