  • My favorite movie of 2013 was 12 Years a Slave. :)

Me too, I thought 2014 was a great year for films.

Gravity was my favorite film in 2013, but I also loved The World's End and 12 Years a Slave. Maybe it's just because I'm partial to Alfanso Cuaron. I thought 2014 had a lot of great movies, personally.

  • 12 Years a Slave was also great.

Whiplash was phenomenal! JK Simmons was SOOO good. I'd say it's a very close second to Birdman, just because of the whole one-take aspect. The way they shot the musical performances was really engaging, too.

Nice choices but may I ask why you disliked Expendables 3? (I know a lot of people hate it but hey, to me it was easily better than the first)

  • I know right! JK Simmons was incredible! He deserves the Oscar for best Supporting Actor because seriously, he got me on a whole new level of emotion when I watched him. What did you think of the ending? I thought it was awesome. :)

  • Simmons deserves it, but I also really enjoyed Ed Norton in Birdman.

I don't think that there was any other way they could've ended it. Some may call it abrupt, but the performances were subtle enough that you could tell how each character was feeling and get an idea of what would happen after the credits. That drum solo went on for so long and was absolutely incredible! The performance scenes were shot better than pretty much all music videos that come out now.

  • I like being confused, it makes me want to know more lol I'll search for those recommendations :P and yeah I'm a fan of Superhero, Sci-Fi and Animation, mostly because I grew up with them and I still am growing up with them xd Superheroes teach me morality, Sci-Fi's teach me the possibility of the impossible and imagination pretty much and animations are great since they follow their own laws.

Seems like you're really into superhero, sci-fi, and animated movies. Ain't nothin wrong with that tho. Some of those movies you mentioned

  • Overrated IMHO.

No I haven't. In all honesty, it didn't really interest me. I might see it later on tho since I heard many good things about it.

  • Ya I could see that. :/

    Overrated IMHO.

  • Whiplash and Big Hero 6

  • Whiplash is uber amazing!

    Whiplash and Big Hero 6

  • I can't really say but I am a big Expandables fan. I always enjoy their movies but the last one was just plain bad. I really don't know.

I think the 2nd was the best, the third was good to me, and I actually think the 1st is the worst , Let's see how the 4th goes.

  • Easily Edge of Tomorrow. Probably Guardians of the Galaxy after that.

  • Actully I think 2014 was a pretty good year, Especially comparing the boring 2013 film year.

I thought maleficent was good and big hero 6. In my opinion 2014 was not a great year for cinema.

Yep, Not much news about it but it's confirmed. (It's probably gonna be released in 2016 or 17) Stallone says he has plans but isn't gonna start making it until he finishes with Rocky 7 and Rambo 5.

  • I haven't seen the theory of everything so I have no opinion. I thought keaton was great, but I didn't think his performance was Oscar worthy. Who were the other nominations for best actor?

His performance was extraordinary; I don't know your definition of "Oscar worthy". If you mean he's not a British metrosexual who plays a disabled, retarded, biographical, gay, holocaust survivor character, then you're right.

But Keaton's performance was one of the most memorable performances of the recent while.

Jeez bro I said I haven't seen the movie so I have no opinion. And I acknowledged the fact that I thought Keaton was great.

I would've gone with Jake Gyllenhaal out of all the main performances I've seen in 2014. That dude can get into any role given to him. At times, I didn't even realize the guy was on screen during his performance. I just saw some slimeball creep. It's a shame he wasn't nominated.

  • I didn't mean anything personal either, man.

I absolutely agree, Gyllenhaal's performance is easily one of the best portrayals of a sociopath that I've ever seen. Shame. Riz Ahmed's was also praiseworthy.

  • Yeah I watched it the other day. A great movie. The ending was rather confusing and took me a little while to understand it. I like Ethan Hawke. He is a really good actor.
