Look at this piece of shit ( A Lil Rant)

No seriously look at it because its how I feel about this entire situation. This is going to be a little rant. Forgive me for what people are going to call compulsive ranting but what the fuck. Recently I've been thinking why haven't some of the gaming franchises or just games haven't had sequels or have suffered a shut down life span. I as a kid have several nostalgia filled memories of me playing some of the best games known to existence only to be overshadowed and unappreciated by the unwashed masses who were to busy playing some generic COD or FPS to know the greatness upon them. I'm going to bring up a few games I feel haven't been given enough attention.

Bully:

In 2006 Rockstar released one of it's only T Rated Games in existence. It was also one of their very best as well. I have the best memories as a pre teen beating on prefects and punks students around Bull Worth. This was like Soft Core GTA for kids who were too young to play. This was one of the funnest games I've ever had the pleasure of playing I had fun. Unfortunately people think of this as an after thought and look straight threw it thus a sequel was never made even 9 years later.

Heavy Rain/Indigo Prophecy:

Heavy Rain was and interactive crime drama released by Quantic Dream in early 2010. I know most people see Quantic Dream as a poor man's Telltale but I thought seeing that Telltale specializes in interactive story telling there would be some appreciation for it. They both had flaws which I'm willing to accept but their stories are so driven and breath taking that their flaws are less evident. Both have adventures that enthrall the player and keep them motivated to play. The soundtrack and voice acting is very good (especially in Indigo Prophecy) and unlike Beyond they're not half as bad as any of these website and IGN marks make them out to be.

Red Faction:

A Great Series It Was Fun And I enjoyed Red Faction Guerrilla Thoroughly. I Liked How The Open World Was Brought Into It It Seemed GTA Inspired And Was A Fun Play. The Game play Was Very Unique Because It Had To Styles That Worked Fairly Well. Sadly Because Armageddon Sucked It Was A Decent Franchise And Should Be Allowed One More Shot

Mafia: The City Of Lost Heaven

Rockstar Game's First Breath Of Fresh Air And Story Telling In 2002. Rockstar Tried To Turn A Crime, Italian Mob Oriented Game Into A Gripping Entertaining Story Which Many Doubted Was Possible Seeing As How Their First Few Major Releases Were GTA III and GTA Vice City. Did They Do It? Fuck Yeah They Did It. Mafia Was A Beautiful Game I loved From The Second I Picked It Up, Until I Put It Down. The Cut Scenes And Story Were Gems To Watch. There Were Parts That Were A Bit Dragged Out But Still Remains One Of The Most Well Written Games I've Ever Played.

The Wolf Among Us:

I Even Gotta Explain This One? I'm Sure You Know The Story. It Was Snubbed And Unappreciated By Gaming Sites As Fucking Usual With Any Type Of Strictly Interactive Story Based Game. As A Result It Was Snubbed And Had To Take The Fucking Back Seat To Stuff As Over Rated As Watch Dogs And Titanfall (Yuck) My Only Gripe Was That It Felt Short And The Last Episode Wasn't Much To Speak Of. Otherwise A Perfect Game Through And Through Even Despite Getting A 10/10 On Steam

  • I LOVE Bully, I would kill for a sequel.

  • ive played 3 of them and all a awesome fun. Red Faction guerrilla was fun as hell but it was too fucking short.

  • I need a Mafia 3! I'm a sucker for the mafioso mumbo jumbo storyline schtuff. :)

Also, I don't think Heavy Rain needs a sequel since the whole story is practically finished. Unless another killer arises ooooooooo

  • Heavy Rain was universally acclaimed. As in it was loved by both critics and audiences.

Has Telltale ever said they weren't doing a second The Wolf Among Us? Is their license running out? It's only been three months since season 1 finished. Sure, they have other projects slated beforehand but it doesn't mean it's not going to happen. It doesn't mean it is, but I imagine there is a strong possibility - especially since (I'm guess) Season 3 is going to be the last Walking Dead.

You're also the first person I've ever heard refer to Quantic Dream as a "poor man's Telltale." I see if as it's own company, but even then, if anything it would be a 'French experimental Telltale.'

  • Not all games need a sequel you know. I'd rather this than ten progressively worse games especialy as things like Heavy rain were kind of a one of thing anyway, also isnt there a second mafia anyway

  • I think the opposite of what you think, for example even if they were good Indigo Prophecy and Heavy Rain don't need sequels, I don't think everything should be a franchise and we should get more one off games, can you imagine how cool would a Telltale game one-off be?

I mean if you don't have to worry about continuing the story you get more possibilities for alternate endings and good twists, tons of the best movies don't have sequels, all this obsession with sequels is pretty fucking stupid to be honest, remember Final Fantasy VI?

That game was a one-off, I mean sure it's the sixth Final Fantasy but story wise they aren't really related outside of some themes, tropes and mostly enemies but the point is that game was so good and there was only one of it and people still remember it and care about it and it really didn't need a sequel and lucky for it since it wasn't VII it never got one or a shitty shooter spin-off.

  • Even though the article is 2 years old, I still figured it would be worth sharing. Apparently, Dan Houser from Rockstar would still love to make a Bully sequel - whenever that becomes a thing.

I doubt people would go that far to consider Quantum Dream a 'poor man's Telltale'. But if what you say is true, that's kind of a poor choice of words on their part. Regardless, an Indigo Prophecy sequel would be super badass.

Would you be willing to kill Gary for a copy?

I LOVE Bully, I would kill for a sequel.

  • Same here. Bully deserves one so bad.

I LOVE Bully, I would kill for a sequel.

  • I love all these games you mentioned (except for Indigo Prophecy (or Farenheit as its known in other countries) which I have never played.)

  • Me knowing we may not got a Second season of Wolf Among Us because it wasnt "popular" enough

  • yeah there was another one i think also on 2013 or maybe early 2014 that they were talking about bully 2 and RDR sequel.

Even though the article is 2 years old, I still figured it would be worth sharing. Apparently, Dan Houser from Rockstar would still love to

  • Glad to see someone here who played the first Mafia. It's really an extraordinary game. Though it wasn't developed by Rockstar. Not sure where you got that from.
